Chapter 22: Let the show begin!

(Ado, New Genesis)

🎶 We can choose the way of our future, try a brand new path… if I change the world… 🎶

The music erupted, its beat pulsing through the crowd, the air vibrating with energy. The stage lights flashed on, revealing Uta in her signature cute jacket, headphones covering her ears as she stood poised for the magic to begin.

🎶 Say goodbye to everyone who stands against us, no one has the power to stop the change that comes, through music.

No, you can't stop magic. 🎶

The crowd shook their glow sticks in perfect sync, and Uta's quirks began to shimmer to life—clouds of color and rainbows rippling across the stadium, a vibrant display of her power.

🎶 Close your eyes, and you can see the future before you.

Every note I sing is bringing you closer to your purpose.

Once you're there, don't let go. 🎶

The crowd swayed in unison, lost in the rhythm, swept up by the enchanting melody.

🎶 You wanna play a real game, unfurl the chain

Melody strung out like we're walkin' on a tightrope

Don't wanna cry, don't wanna try, wanna forget

Just let me live inside a dreamland, I wanna be free!

And let a brand new era dawn

I know that we can create a new world! 🎶

Suddenly, the stadium roof began to open, revealing the bright sky above. Uta's quirk began to glow with breathtaking beauty, stars dancing around her, as if the very cosmos were joining in the performance.

🎶 We can choose the way of our future

Try a brand new path, we can change the world

We can change the world

This boundless music brings transformation

Messages in song reach even further

This dream will come true, "I believe in you"

Ooh 🎶

The lights flashed, illuminating the crowd in vibrant hues as they screamed in joy, swept up in the magic that Uta had woven into the air.

🎶 Say goodbye to everything that's weighing you down

Transcend beyond reality to colorful worlds of music

We need to keep on rising 🎶

Jackson and Bradford swung their glow sticks in rhythm, joining in with the crowd, their movements synced to the pulse of the music.

🎶 Close your eyes and take my hand, we're runnin' together

We don't have to live like this, I know we can all do better

I sing for liberation 🎶

As Uta's performance flowed on, her gaze finally landed on Jackson. His smile met hers, and her expression lit up, a wide grin spreading across her face. But soon, her attention snapped back to the stage, refocusing on the music.

She danced, her movements fluid and graceful, as her quirk conjured vibrant images—animals leaping across the stage, people playing instruments in the background. The crowd watched in awe as a massive blue whale glided past them, its shimmering form filling the air with a sense of wonder.

No one had ever experienced a show like this before. Quirks, once used solely to save lives, were now transformed into tools of entertainment, mesmerizing the crowd. The audience couldn't help but scream even louder, completely captivated by a performance that felt like the greatest spectacle of the ages.

As the concert came to a close, Uta lowered herself into a graceful bow, her heart pounding in her chest. The crowd erupted, their voices echoing through the stadium like a tidal wave. "Uta! Uta! Uta!"

Her lips quivered, and she blinked rapidly, struggling to keep the tears at bay. A bright smile spread across her face, her eyes shimmering with a mixture of joy and disbelief as the weight of the moment sank in. She had done it. Her dream was no longer just a whisper—it was real.

In Japanese, Uta's voice trembled with emotion as she spoke. "Thank you all for coming… for making my dream come true. I am so grateful." Her eyes glistened with unshed tears, and before she could say more, she turned and hurried backstage, her heart full but her emotions too overwhelming to hold.

Soon the crowd began to disperse, making their way toward the exits, Jackson had other plans. He pushed through the sea of people, heading toward the backstage area. Security stopped him at first, but when Uta's aunt spotted him, she waved a hand, signaling the guards to let him through. Without a word, they stepped aside, allowing him to pass.

"Oh, Jack! You're here!" Aiki exclaimed, excitement bubbling in her voice.

Just as Jackson opened his mouth to respond, a sharp voice cut through the air.

"Who are you?"

Jackson turned to see a kid standing stiffly, his gaze firm and unyielding. His hair mirrored Uta's but with the colors reversed, and a burn mark stretched across his left eye, adding to the intensity of his glare.

"Right, Jackson, this is my nephew, Shoto," Aiki said, resting a hand on the boy's shoulder.

Before Jackson could respond, he was soon introduced to Uta's other siblings. He recognized them instantly—Fuyumi and Natsuo—thanks to the pictures Uta had shown him before.

They exchanged polite smiles. "Nice to meet you," Fuyumi said warmly.

Jackson nodded. "Hey, I'm Jackson—Uta's friend."

Fuyumi's eyes sparkled with recognition, a teasing smile forming. "Oh! So you're the guy Uta won't stop talking about!"

Before Jackson could respond, hurried footsteps echoed through the room.

"Wait, wait—"

Uta appeared, her usual outfit in place, but for once, her signature headphones were nowhere to be seen.

Her face flushed a deep red as she blurted out, "Thanks for coming!" Before her family could react, she grabbed Jackson's arm and, with a burst of energy, dragged him outside, moving so fast it was clear she was desperate to escape.
