Chapter 2: Make Them Suffer
"Oh, before I forget, system can you show me the description of my quirks, and show me the description of any future gains I get?" I almost forgot that I don't really know what Siren Song does, nor do I know what Healthy Body specifically does to me, so it's best that I figure that out.
[Answer: Understood, Host]
_____________
[Current Quirks:
Transform - The User can turn into a copy of whoever they drink the blood of. 1 cup of blood equals 18 hours transformed.
WARNING: Extended lack of blood consumption will slowly deteriorate the user's mental state
Healthy Body - A passive quirk that increases the user's resistance to poisnons/viruses/illnesses, though this does not apply to such things that are made by unnatural means. This also has the secondary ability of making the user retain all benifits from training, no matter how long they have not trained.
Siren Song (Undergoing Adjustment) - The user can release a sonic scream which is comparable to the quirk known as Voice, although it can be more focused, allowing it to be more destructive. This also has the added benefit of giving the user a singing voice so beatiful that those that hear it would consider it angelic.
WARNING: Use of the sonic scream can greatly harm the vocal cords of the user, so it is suggested that cough medicine always be kept on hand, or else the user's vocal cords may suffer irreparable damage]
"Yeah... it's better that I got to see this first before I learned the hard way." The drawbacks of the quirks were very useful to know, and it also explains why the system gave me cat blood earlier.
Now, since I needed to check out the house that was in front of me, and because my curiousity about my quirks was satisfied, it was time to get up and check out the house. But, since I'm not exactly used to this body yet, I fell back down to the grass below me when I tried to stand.
"Fuck. I guess I forgot about this issue. I know I was short before, but being a child again will take some getting used to." I slowly began to stand up again, this time leaning on the tree behind.
It took a couple minutes, and a few practice steps, but I managed to get somewhat used to my new height, at least enough to where I won't immediately fall on my ass again.
"One step at a time, Eve. It's still a human body, just younger, so falling now would make me look dumb as fuck!" I said to myself as I began to walk to the sliding door, so I could check out whose backyard I'm in.
"Hm? Is no one home?" Looking in through the glass door I didn't see, or hear, any signs of someone being in the house, though I did see a piece of paper on a dinning table just across from the sliding door. So, I guess someone was in the house before? "Weird..."
Sliding the door open, which was surprisingly unlocked, I went over to the paper on the dinning table, to see if it would tell me anything useful.
"Hopefully this shit isn't some bullshit from a god saying, 'Oh! Sorry I accidentally killed you! Have fun in your new life!'" I don't know when that shit became a cliché, but it was like in almost half the fanfics I read, and I don't want my life here to be started by a damn cliché.
Grabbing the paper off the table, I only saw a bunch of shit in Hiragana, which I couldn't make heads or tails off. But, after the system made a bell chime in the back of my mind again the words started to morph into English before my eyes.
[Universal translator has been activated]
"Well, ain't that some useful shit." At least I won't have to worry about having to learn a new language, that would've been a massive pain in the ass, and time-consuming.
Though, when I read the freshly translated paper in my hands I wanted to tear the person who wrote this a new one. Not because it was the cliché that I didn't want, but because it was from a bastard that doesn't deserve to even be called a parent.
"Himiko, we'll be gone for three weeks. Don't you dare leave the house or try using the house phone. Next month you'll be put into quirk counseling to deal with your disgusting actions recently, and you won't be going back to school until then. Oh, and one last thing. If you don't start acting normal again, I will personally throw your ass into a psych ward, and let them deal with your rotten ass instead."
"System, how long has it been since they left Himiko alone?..." I asked while looking at the paper as if it were the most disgusting thing I've ever seen.
[Answer: Only a few hours, as they left this morning before Himiko Toga woke up]
"So... these bastards left without a moment's notice.... and are planning on being away from a six-year-old child for three weeks straight without having anyone take care of her....?" With the paper in hand I started to walk to the doorway to my left where the kitchen probably was located.
[Answer: Correct]
"If I manage to find these bastards... I'm going to make them feel every form of pain and torment known to existence..." Luckily the simple looking kitchen was there, and I went straight to searching through it for any knives that I could get my hands on.
"Hm, so this is where she got them." I said as I pulled out a set of knives that looked almost exactly like the ones that Himiko used. Which amused me a bit, she used the same knives to kill that her parents bought to make food.
"You know what... System, how much shit can I put in my inventory?" I asked while placing the knives into said inventory for later use.
[Answer: Currently the Inventories capacity is unknown, as it is too vast for the System to put an accurate estimate for the number of objects that could be placed in it]
"In other words, 'Bitch, it's big as fuck, end of story!' Which means it would be stupid of me not to take all their shit before I eventually burn this house down and disappear." I have no plans on staying in this house, so I might as well make it look like this place was robbed, and burned to ash, while also making it look like I was kidnapped. So, storing everything in this house into Inventory was just an added way to fuck those two over.
After that I went through the house storing everything that wasn't nailed down, except for the expensive looking couch, the TV, and the stove. The first two because I felt like relaxing for a bit, while the stove was because it was a gas stove, and I didn't feel like filling this place with gas yet.
"That should be it, but just in case. System, is there anything else that might need my attention in this room?" I asked the system as I sat down on the couch, which was pretty damn comfy.
[Answer: Yes, in the closet of the master bedroom, behind the clothes, there is a safe that holds something that the Host may find useful]
"I- god dammit... I'm a fucking idiot." Of course something valuable would be hidden in a closet! I know I'm pretty dumb, but holy shit! How could I forget to check there!?
Getting up from the couch I quickly went back up to the second floor where the bedrooms were located. Before I took the stuff in the bedrooms for myself, I saw that Himiko's room looked more like a prison cell, while the parent's and the guest rooms looked like they belonged in five-star hotels with how much expensive shit was in them. If I didn't want to kill them before, I sure as hell do now.
"Now, let's see what these bastards got hidden!" I practically threw open the closet door and tossed each shirt, suit, and dress I saw out of it to see the big ass safe with a keypad on it that lay behind them.
Without a second thought I put the safe into my inventory, since I didn't know the passcode for it. So, I'll probably just break it open later when I get something from the system to do so. Though when I focused on it, I noticed a panel in the corner of my eye that I didn't recognize.
[Would the Host like to separate the 'Big Ass Safe' from its contents?]
"I didn't know that shit was an option, but sure go ahead!" So, my inventory can separate things from whatever's containing it, that could be pretty useful. Especially if I could store people in there, then that means I might be able to separate any poison or drug from their body.
After I gave the confirmation I saw that inventory changed slightly, because now next to the safe was a strange looking laptop, and a couple bottles of expensive looking liquor. Since I got what I wanted from the safe I just placed it back in the closet, and headed back down to the living room to check out my new computer.
"Hey, System, do you know the password for this computer? After all, you were the one that directed me to it." I said as I went over to the couch while also grabbing the remote for the TV, since I wanted to check the news.
[Answer: Affirmative. The password is nYXPdZsYe902dbW]
"God damn! What kind of shit is on this computer to need a password like that?" Seriously, who makes a password like that?! Actually, better question, who memorizes a password like that!?
[Answer: Secure files that belong to the HPSC, as the computer belongs to a high ranking member of said organization]
I immediately froze in place as I saw the system's answer. This computer belonged to a high ranking member of the Hero Commission, it was in a safe owned by the Toga's, combined with the expensive looking shit in the house, this only meant one thing.
"Those two bastards work for the Hero Commission, don't they?" I did not like the Hero Commission that much already, since they fucked over the mental state of Lady Nagant completely, and then threw her under the bus when she fought back. So, this shit just makes me hate them even more.
[Answer: Yes. The father of Himiko Toga is the head of the Communication and Public Engagement Division, while the mother is the head of the Human Resources Division]
With that I broke out into almost hysterical laughter, the fact that those two bastards are in charge of two divisions that deal with people on a daily basis, while still treating their only daughter like shit, was so sickening that it was hilarious to me! Oh god! I am going to have so much fun making them suffer more than any sinner in hell! Maybe I'll even broadcast their screams of pain and terror across all of Japan!
"These bastards deserve only pain! I don't care if I need to destroy the entirety of Japan's government, or take down every hero, to do it! I will make them suffer!" I declared as I sat down on the couch and pulled the computer out of inventory to see what is on it.
"System, show me that password again." I said while turning on the TV to the news channel. Which seemed to show a channel called Shoowaysha News, this channel was most definitely owned by the Shoowaysha Publishing company, the same that Chitose Kizuki is an Executive Director at. The news anchor is a woman with a quirk that seems to give her the ears and tail of a mouse.
The second the system gave me the password I put it in and started to look through the files of the computer. While I was looking through them, the news channel went on with a weather report and some other stuff, but after half an hour I heard something from it that caught my attention.
"Now, onto the topic that everyone has been curious about since last week. The status of the kidnappings that have been occurring across the country..." This made me look up from the laptop curiously, since I don't remember any talks about kidnappings in the anime. Especially any that happened across all of Japan, which would have definitely been something important to mention.
"So far, there have still been no updates on the seven children that have been kidnapped. This has led many of the families that have been affected to question the abilities of the police and the Heroes on the case...." The news anchor said with a grim look on her face, maybe the child of someone she knew was among the seven? Though, her saying that people were genuinely questioning the capabilities of the heroes did shock me, since I expected this worlds news to only speak praise of them at all times.
"Well, I guess no matter the world, shitty things will still happen. But, since I can't do anything, I don't see the point in worrying about it. Though, I guess I can use this to my advantage later." Even if I have a body that isn't as fucked as my old one, and a system, I'm still too weak to actually do anything. This is just another reason to get stronger, so I can finally have some grasp at real happiness and control, no matter the cost.
[NOTICE: The Host has shown a desire for power. To help satisfy the desires of the Host a new Quest will be triggered 2 weeks from now]
"Hm? Wait, I can get new quest just for wanting more strength?" Was triggering a quest really that easy to do?
[Answer: No, as this is only a one time event to help the Host become used to putting themself into a worlds plot to destroy it]
"Destroying plots... Well, it makes sense that a 'Chaos System' would focus on such things. Anyways, I'll just wait till night before I leave and burn this place, since I don't want to stay here for a single day more." I'd rather go back to living on the streets rather than stay here longer than I need to, so after tonight Himiko Toga will disappear until I decide to make myself known again.
