NOVEL NEXT Chapter 6: Hero names.
-3 Days later-
Night Hag sits on top of her desk in front of the class, she holds a small whiteboard, while happily saying "We'll be doing something pretty special today. Choosing hero names!" The class cheers. "Have any of you lovelies already picked theirs?" Some of the class puts their hands up, including Madow.
"That's great! Now you guys can just walk up here and tell us your names. The rest can keep thinking about what they want." The ones who already thought of a name make a line. Madow going first.
He steps to the front of the class, picking up the whiteboard from Night Hag. He uses his quirk to make the ink fly out of the marker, splashing on the board his hero name, the letters forming a sea monster, and spelling out "Leviathan, the hero of Tehom." Some of the class thinks it's a really cool name, others are kind of confused about what it means.
"I've chosen this name for a few reasons: my water-based quirk; what happens to me when in large bodies of water; and my middle name, Lotan." He says while the ink flows back into the marker. He puts the whiteboard and marker on the desk, instead of handing them directly over to Luxanna, who was reaching for it, pissing her off.
"My hero name is StarLux, the lady of light. I picked it because of my quirk, Divine Light, and a diminutive of my name, Lux, which I have used as a nickname since I was little." She hands over the whiteboard to the next student, like a civilized person.
As Marcus is writing his name down, Samira shouts from her seat, "I got it!" and rushes over to the back of the line.
"Marcus' hero name is Moon Knight, it's a mantle passed in his family. It comes from the servants of the moon, the knights of the night, the ones who hunt for criminals and show them Konshu's vengeance. 'Working in the shadows, to serve the light.'
Delsin goes next. "My hero name is Karma because I want to give back double what they did to me, and what they do the innocent people everywhere. Also one of my powers, kineticism."
Samael. "My name is Lucifer because that's who I am. The Devil. And who would have thought? The Devil being a hero."
Viktoria. Her name appears as floating holograms in front of the board. "I'm CyberStein, or just Cyber for short because my body is a machine, my quirk, Cyberware, lets me have these upgrades, to save as many people as I can." She says while her arm opens up to show her metallic insides.
Alex. "My hero name is Bifrost. Referencing the rainbow bridge of Asgard. I chose it because it fits my quirk and my identity." It's notable that she looks much more feminine than they looked during the incident 3 days ago.
Alexander. Black goop drools from his fingers, forming his name. "I'm Prototype Zeus because my quirk was a failure, but it made me strong, strength that one day will make the symbol of peace." He smiles more with each word.
And Samira walks up, finally reaching her turn. She throws the whiteboard up and shoots it with her guns, forming her hero name with the holes. "My name is Belona. The Roman goddess of war and wisdom in battle. Thanks for the suggestion, brat." She points at the white-haired boy with the demon arm, Nero. "It's the perfect name, with my courageous and battle-hungry spirit, cause I never refuse a duel! Or pizza!" Some of the class thinks it's cool, and some laugh at her antics.
"Ok, class, you guys should keep thinking about your names, but also about your hero outfits, you'll need them pretty soon. You should go to the support course and talk with them about your costumes. If you haven't chosen yet, you can just wear normal clothes or your gym uniforms during class." Says Night Hag.
Madow thinks about a costume, but the only idea he has is to keep just wearing the suit his father left him.
