MHA: Reborn with Magneto's powers

Chapter 7: Chapter 6

The morning after the incident, Ryoma and Momo arrived at school, expecting some stares and whispers. But surprisingly, most students kept their distance, too afraid or unsure of how to react.

Then, during the first period, an emergency assembly was called.

The principal stood at the podium, his expression stern.

"As many of you are aware, an altercation occurred outside of school yesterday involving six students who chose to engage in violence. After a police investigation, it has been confirmed that their actions were unprovoked, and disciplinary measures will be taken."

A tense silence filled the auditorium.

"The school has decided to suspend all six students involved in the attack. We take the safety of our students very seriously, and let this serve as a reminder that violence—especially outside of school grounds—has real consequences."

A murmur spread through the crowd, but no one dared to challenge the decision.

Later in the day, Ryoma and Momo were called to the principal's office, where their parents were already waiting.

Momo's parents, Mr and Mrs Yaoyorozu were seated with calm expressions, though her mother's hands were clasped tightly together. Ryoma's parents were there as well, listening to the whole story addressed by the principal.

The principal then sighed, folding his hands together. "I want to reassure you that your children are not in trouble. The police have already ruled Ryoma's actions as self-defense, and Momo acted responsibly by calling for help. However, as per school policy, we are obligated to inform you and ensure there are no further concerns."

Mr Yaoyorozu nodded. "We appreciate the school's handling of this matter. My daughter did what she thought was right, and we're relieved she wasn't harmed."

The principal hesitated for a moment before continuing. "Additionally, the families of the six students have requested to meet with you to offer their apologies. They are waiting in the next room."

Momo glanced at Ryoma, who remained silent and indifferent.

"If they're sincere, we will listen," her mother said gently.

"Same for us as well. We want to hear from their side .", Ryoma's dad said.

Ryoma and Momo sat quietly in a formal meeting room at their school, their parents seated beside them. Across from them sat the parents of the six bullies, along with the principal and a police officer overseeing the matter.

The atmosphere was tense but civil. The parents of the bullies looked visibly uncomfortable, some shifting in their seats, others avoiding eye contact.

One of the fathers, a middle-aged man in a business suit, cleared his throat before speaking. "First of all… we'd like to formally apologize for what our children did. There's no excuse for their actions, and we're deeply sorry that Ryoma-kun and Momo-chan were put in that situation."

His wife nodded, clasping her hands together. "We've spoken to them, and they understand how serious this is. We're truly sorry."

Mrs Yaoyorozu, ever the composed woman, offered a polite nod. "We appreciate you saying that. What they did was reckless and could have ended much worse."

Mr Kurogane with a calm but firm voice: "I won't lie—I was furious when I first heard what happened. If Ryoma hadn't been able to defend himself, I don't even want to think about how it could've gone." He exhaled through his nose. "That said, I know kids make mistakes. What matters is how they learn from them."

The bullies' parents exchanged glances. One of the mothers, the one whose daughter had the nail claws Quirk, lowered her head slightly. "They've all been suspended, and the school has placed them under strict supervision moving forward." She hesitated. "The police decided not to press charges, but… I know that doesn't erase what they did."

Mr Yaoyorozu responded.: "It's good that the school and authorities are handling it properly. We're not looking to punish children endlessly, but we do want to make sure something like this never happens again."

Mrs Kurogane spoke with surprising warmth: "The girls that I heard Ryoma injured their skins badly. Are they recovering well?"

The mother of the girl whose piercings had been ripped out, nodded quickly. "Yes, they're healing, and the doctors said there won't be any lasting damage. But… it was a painful lesson."

Momo's mother exhaled softly. "Perhaps a necessary one."

The parents of the bullies didn't argue. They knew it was true.

Ryoma, throughout the entire conversation, remained silent, his arms crossed as he simply observed. He wasn't interested in their apologies. He wasn't angry, either. To him, the situation had already been resolved.

After a few more formalities, the meeting finally wrapped up. The bullies' parents bowed once more, expressing their regret, and Ryoma and Momo's families accepted the apologies with measured understanding.

Mr. and Mrs. Yaoyorozu, turned toward Ryoma's parents and him. Their expressions were a mixture of gratitude and relief.

Mr. Yaoyorozu was the first to speak. "Mr. and Mrs. Kurogane, Ryoma-kun… I just want to say, from the bottom of my heart, thank you." He gave a slight bow, his voice steady but sincere. "What happened was a terrible experience for Momo, but knowing she had someone like Ryoma by her side truly puts us at ease. If he hadn't been there, things could have turned out much worse."

Mrs. Yaoyorozu placed a gentle hand on her daughter's shoulder, looking at Ryoma with kind eyes. "We're very grateful, Ryoma-kun. Not just for protecting Momo, but for being such a good friend to her. She's told us how much she's learned from you and how much she values your friendship. It means a lot to us as parents to know she's not alone."

Ryoma's mother smiled warmly. "That's very kind of you to say, but really, we're just glad everything ended safely. Ryoma doesn't talk much, but we know he wouldn't stand by if someone he cared about was in danger."

His father nodded, glancing at Ryoma. "He might not say it outright, but I'm sure he's glad your daughter is okay too."

Ryoma, standing quietly beside his parents, simply responded, "I'm glad that I could help, Mr and Mrs Yaoyorozu." His tone was neutral and formal.

Mr. Yaoyorozu chuckled lightly at Ryoma's reserved nature. "We truly appreciate it." He then looked back at Ryoma's parents. "And I must say, you've raised a remarkable young man. You should be very proud."

Ryoma's mother beamed, placing a hand on his shoulder. "We are. He may not always show it, but he has a good heart."

As the conversation wrapped up, Mr. Yaoyorozu extended his hand to Mr. Kurogane, who shook it firmly. "Thank you again. We're truly grateful."

Mrs. Yaoyorozu gave a polite bow. "Yes. And please, if there's ever anything we can do in return, don't hesitate to let us know."

Ryoma's mother smiled. "Likewise. We're happy our children got each other's back ."

With that, the families parted ways, the weight of the situation finally settling, but with a sense of closure.

The days passed by peacefully as Ryoma and Momo continued their school life without having to worry about bullies any longer. The afternoon breeze was cool against their faces as Ryoma and Momo walked side by side like usual.

Momo glanced over at Ryoma. "Have you thought about what you want to do after we graduate?"

Ryoma, hands in his pockets looking at her: "Career-wise?"

She nodded.

"Well, after doing research and considerations, I've been thinking about going for the Pro Hero path."

Momo's face lit up. "Wait, really?! I thought you'd end up doing something in science! Woah, this is awesome!! I'm planning my goal to become a hero too!"

Ryoma raised an eyebrow, surprised by her enthusiasm. "You are? And I figured you'd go for something more… traditional, given your background."

Momo chuckled. "I mean, yeah, I've always been into business and management, but lately, I've been thinking that I want to make a real impact. Becoming a Pro Hero… it feels like the right way. Especially with everything that's happened lately. You know, after those bullies, I've realized I want to stand up for people, not just watch from the sidelines. I want to use my Quirk for something more meaningful.

What about you? I'm quite curious to know why you shift your attention to being a hero."

Ryoma replied: "There are a lot of reasons. Money is part of it for sure. But also, with my Quirk, it'd be a waste not to use it."

Momo's eyes narrowed slightly. "That's not exactly an answer."

He smirked. "It's not a lie, either."

She crossed her arms. "So, is money your main reason or not?"

Ryoma met her gaze, then shrugged. "Let's just say I like having options. Being a hero gives me the most."

Ryoma then with a jokingly reply:"What? Is "Ms Rich girl" judging me for being materialistic?"

Momo sighed but smiled slightly. "No, becoming hero for money or fame is a common thing now. But you're annoyingly hard to read sometimes."

"Anyway, now that we have just over a year left before graduation, I want to start preparing seriously. I've been focusing more on my Quirk, trying to use it for practical situations rather than just…you know, making things for basic demands. My parents even built a special practice range for me at home.

Well....if you're interested, I can invite you over to try it out. Get some extra training in.", Momo explained.

Ryoma raised an eyebrow, intrigued. "A practice range? Damn you are seriously locked in for this."

"I am." Momo said with a smile. "I've been working hard on it, and I think it could help us both get ready for the exam. Plus, I'd be more than happy to have you come over. Maybe we can even start trying some of the experimental ideas you asked me on class."

Ryoma thought for a moment, then nodded. "Alright, you got my attention, I'll ask my parents about it."

Momo's eyes sparkled. "Awesome! We can really push ourselves. I think we both will get to U.A. if we keep working hard."

Ryoma smirked. "I guess we'll see. Thanks for the invite, Momo."

"No problem!" she said.
