Chapter 26: Denki x Jioru

The sun hung low in the sky, casting a warm glow over U.A. High School as the annual graduation ceremony unfolded. Denki Kaminari and Kyoka Jirou stood side by side, both clad in their black caps and gowns, their hearts racing with a mixture of excitement and nostalgia. They had come so far since their freshman year, navigating the trials of being heroes in training, and now it was all coming to an end.

The auditorium buzzed with shouts of joy and bittersweet goodbyes as each graduate walked the stage, accepting their diplomas. Tenya Iida, their class representative and valedictorian, took center stage, his posture as straight as always. He delivered a heartfelt speech, reminding everyone of the journey they shared and the friendships they had forged. Denki and Jirou exchanged amused glances, silently recalling the countless times they'd navigated perilous missions and not-so-perilous afternoons spent bickering about the best music.

As the ceremony concluded, caps flew high into the air amidst tears and cheers, marking the end of an era and the beginning of the next chapter. Denki felt a pang in his chest as he watched his friends embrace one another, realizing how much he would miss this moment.

Later that night, after the excitement had dwindled down, Denki invited Jirou to a nearby bar. "Just a little celebration for us," he suggested, grinning widely. Jirou raised an eyebrow but followed him, enjoying the chance to relax after the whirlwind of emotions from graduation.

The bar was lively, filled with laughter and music, and Denki wasted no time ordering drinks for the two of them. They chatted about their futures, sharing dreams and silly anecdotes from their time in U.A. The more they drank, the more they laughed, reminiscing about their friend Bakugou's explosive antics and the wild training sessions under the ever-patient All Might.

But as the night wore on, Denki's laughter became more pronounced, and his words less coherent. Jirou, keeping pace with his energy, noticed him growing more animated but didn't think much of it—until his expression shifted from playful to sincere.

"Jirou," he slurred, his cheeks flushed, "there's something I gotta tell you." He leaned closer, eyes shimmering with vulnerability. "You've always been there for me, through everything. I… I think I'm in love with you."

Jirou's laughter died instantly, replaced by wide eyes and a racing heart. She instinctively felt that the alcohol was talking, the playful Denki she knew layered beneath a tipsy façade was mixing everything up. "Denki, maybe it's the drinks talking…" she began, trying to dismiss the moment, but the look on his face stopped her. There was sincerity there, a depth that made her stomach twist.

"I mean it!" he insisted, words tumbling out in a rush. "I can't help it. I've liked you for so long, and I didn't know how to say it."

Caught off-guard, Jirou sighed, her heart pounding—she couldn't push him away like this. "Alright, let's get you home," she decided, standing up and leading him, arm around his waist, to her place.

Once there, Denki collapsed onto her bed, limbs sprawled out, and was soon lost to sleep. Jirou, still processing what had just happened, opted to stay awake a little longer, wondering if there was more to Denki's confession than just drunken blabber.

The next morning, sunlight streamed through Jirou's window, illuminating the room as she stirred awake. She glanced at Denki, who lay asleep as if he could've been shocked into sleeping beauty. With a sigh, she shook him gently. "Hey, Kaminari. You okay...do you remember anything?"

Denki opened his eyes and, upon taking in his surroundings, a smirk crept onto his face. "Hey, Jirou… about last night…" He stood up, approaching her slowly, his smirk now a confident grin. "Yes,I remember everything."

Her heart raced again. "You do?"

"Yeah." He stepped closer, closing the distance between them, his voice low and sincere. "I meant what I said. I do love you."

Jirou felt herself blushing, a mix of disbelief and hope blooming within her. "You sure about that?" she asked, searching his gaze for signs of uncertainty.

Denki nodded, his gaze unwavering. "More sure than I've ever been."

With her guard slowly lowering, Jirou decided to take a chance. She leaned in, capturing his lips in a kiss that melted away the doubts and fears, a delicate connection that felt right in every sense. Denki responded eagerly, wrapping his arms around her waist, deepening the kiss.

When they pulled back, both breathing heavily, Jirou couldn't help the smile that spread across her face. From that day forward, their bond transformed into something deeper, unmistakably special. They were no longer just friends—they were partners—and each day after graduation, they discovered new facets of their relationship, bound by love and a shared dream of becoming the heroes they always aspired to be.
