Chapter 21: Beach Day With Class 1A And 1B
The sun shone brightly over Musutafu as Class 1-A piled off the bus, their laughter and chatter filling the salty air. Today was their long-awaited field trip to the beach, a special reward for their hard work in training and school. Principal Nezu, always keen to foster camaraderie among the students, had decided to invite Class 1-B along, led by their somewhat imposing teacher, Vlad King.
As the students ran towards the beach, their feet sinking into the warm sand, Aizawa and Vlad exchanged glances. Both teachers wore expressions of bemused amusement, knowing that their students would likely orchestrate their own brand of chaos over the course of the day.
"Just keep an eye on Monoma," Aizawa muttered, adjusting his scarf as he focused on the students. "He has a knack for stirring things up."
Vlad chuckled, shaking his head. "I think we can let them sort it out themselves. After all, they're training to be heroes."
With that, the two teachers settled into a pair of lounge chairs under a large umbrella, arms crossed over their chests, prepared for whatever spectacle the day would bring.
The Deku Squad—Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida, Tsuyu, and Todoroki—quickly found a spot near the water, excitedly pulling out beach toys and inflatable floaties. While Iida enthusiastically detailed the merits of various swimming strokes, Midoriya was already diving into the waves, his quirk amplified by the clear blue water. Uraraka giggled as she tried to practice her quirk by floating above the sand, while Todoroki simply watched with a slight smile, enjoying the warm breeze.
Meanwhile, Bakugo was in a fierce argument with Monoma. The other students had started a beach volleyball game, sparks flying with every shout from Bakugo. Monoma had brought his usual brand of snarky commentary, taunting Bakugo about how "his explosions are no match for a real hero's strategy." This only served to ignite Bakugo further.
"You think you're so smart, huh? Let's see you take on Class 1-A in a real match!" Bakugo yelled, fists clenched, his explosive powers ready to snap at any second. The Bakusquad—Kirishima, Mina, Kaminari, and Sero—rushed in to contain him.
"Come on, Bakugo, just let it go!" Kirishima insisted, his red hair catching the sunlight beautifully. "It's just a game!"
Kaminari chimed in, "Yeah, let's focus on having fun! We're at the beach, remember?"
Sero nodded. "How about we challenge Class 1-B to a beach volleyball match, and see who's the real champ? You can show Monoma why he shouldn't mess with us!"
Despite the protests and swaying temperament of Bakugo, the idea quickly took root. The other Class 1-A students rallied to the cause, picking sides and gathering makeshift nets, while Monoma stood in the distance, grinning with his own class, clearly plotting revenge.
The chaos escalated as the volleyball game commenced, and Aizawa and Vlad leaned back further into their chairs, shaking their heads in amusement. Monoma, with all the confidence of someone who'd never back down from a challenge, began taunting Class 1-A relentlessly every time Bakugo's team made a mistake.
"It's just as I expected! Class 1-B is way better than Class 1-A!" he yelled dramatically, posing like a sports commentator. The students of Class 1-B eagerly cheered him on, feeding off the drama.
As the game heated up, Bakugo's outbursts became more frequent, prompting explosions of sand and water, while his squad worked desperately to keep him in check. A randomly misplaced pass sent the ball flying into confusion; Bakugo's fiery nature returned with a vengeance, leading to an undeniable, albeit chaotic, match that everyone would remember fondly.
On the quieter side of the beach, meanwhile, Midoriya, Uraraka, Iida, and Todoroki had constructed a massive sandcastle, complete with intricate towers. They celebrated their victory over the tide, enjoying the contrasting tranquility of their game.
"All right, let's see how it holds up against the waves," Iida declared, adjusting his glasses as he inspected their creation.
Just then, a huge wave crashed into the shore, and the group rushed to save their masterpiece. "Nooo!" Midoriya cried as the tide lapped at the castle, barely holding on.
Back at the volleyball game, the match concluded in a spectacular burst of excitement from Class 1-A, who managed to land a final point, igniting celebration among their ranks while Bakugo reluctantly accepted that maybe they could let Monoma get the last word.
As the day wound down, both classes sprawled out on the beach, exhausted but happy. The drama of the day had transformed into laughter shared among friends, as the sun dipped towards the horizon, painting the sky in hues of orange and pink.
Aizawa sighed, a rare smile creeping onto his face as he watched his students. "They'll be fine," he declared finally, sipping a cold drink.
Vlad chuckled in agreement, already planning for next year's trip. Above the chaos of competition and rivalry, the spirit of camaraderie shone on the beach, proving that sometimes the best training was simply being together.
