Chapter 24: Deku x Uraraka

The sun was setting over U.A. High School, casting a warm golden hue across the campus. Inside Class 1-A, the students were bustling about, wrapping up their day. Deku, or Izuku Midoriya as his friends called him, was gathering his books, his mind drifting to the one person who made every day a bit brighter- Uraraka.

For a long time, the two had been inseparable, each other's constant support. They trained together, studied together, and spent countless evenings discussing their hopes and dreams. But underneath the camaraderie, a complex web of emotions lingered—each harbored a secret crush on the other, yet neither seemed aware of the other's feelings.

As the last bell rang, bringing the day to a close, Deku was taken by surprise when a folded note landed softly on his desk. He glanced around, confused as to who might have sent it.

"Deku!" Uraraka called, her voice lively and warm as she approached. "What's that?"

"I don't know," Deku replied, flipping it open and reading the neat handwriting. "It says to meet someone in the classroom after class."

"Oh? Maybe it's a surprise!" she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. "Let's go!"

The two friends hurried to the classroom, both curious about the mysterious note. As Deku reached for the doorknob, he heard the sound of footsteps retreating down the hall. Before he could register what was happening, the door clicked shut behind them.

"Wait! Who…?" Deku turned, only to find the door locked tightly. "Uh-oh."

"It's locked!" Uraraka exclaimed, trying the handle in vain. "What do we do now?"

"Looks like we're going to be stuck for a bit," Deku said, an awkward smile spreading across his face. Despite the sudden predicament, he felt a strange thrill—the thought of being alone with Uraraka without any distractions was exciting, yet nerve-wracking.

The two looked around the empty classroom, slowly searching for anything to occupy their time. After a few moments of awkward silence, Uraraka spotted a deck of cards in the corner.

"How about a card game?" she suggested, her cheeks slightly flushed with the proximity of their situation.

"Sure! That could be fun!" Deku agreed, relief spreading through him as they settled into a comfortable banter, playing various games and laughing more than they had in a while.

But as the fun began to wear off, Uraraka's heart began to race with determination. Maybe this was a sign—a moment she'd been waiting for to finally tell him how she felt.

"Deku," she said softly, her gaze serious yet affectionate. "Can I tell you something?"

"Uh, sure! What is it?" he replied, his own heart thumping in sync with hers.

"I've liked you for a long time," she blurted, her cheeks blooming with a flurry of nerves. "Like…really liked you. It's hard to say because you're such a great friend. But I had to get it off my chest."

Deku's eyes widened, his mind racing to catch up. "You…like me? I-I like you too, Uraraka !" The revelation hung in the air, a moment suspended in time as they both processed their feelings.

"Wait, really?" Uraraka eyes shone, a mix of disbelief and joy.

"Yeah! I didn't know how to say it either!" he confessed, a bright smile breaking across his face.

They sat there for a heartbeat, the weight of their confessions settled between them, both realizing how much they had wanted to hear these words. The realization brought a surge of warmth, and for the first time, they looked at each other with a blend of hope and vulnerability.

"Does this mean…" Uraraka began hesitantly, a smile creeping back to her lips.

"Does this mean we're together now?" Deku finished for her, his voice light with anticipation.

"Yeah!" she exclaimed, laughter bubbling out, her cheeks glowing.

They shared shy smiles, their palms brushing against each other nervously. Just as they were about to say more, the door rattled, startling them both. The lock clicked open, and in stepped their classmate, Kaminari, grinning like a Cheshire cat.

"Did you guys have fun locked in here? We were starting to wonder if you needed rescuing!" he teased, his eyebrow wiggling.

Blushing fiercely, Deku and Uraraka glanced at one another, the embarrassment and joy of their newfound relationship blooming between them like a delicate flower.

As the day drew to a close, they left the classroom together, hands just barely touching, hearts pounding with the thrill of something new. From that day forward, they began a new chapter—Deku and Uraraka , not just friends but partners, ready to face the world together, side by side.
