Chapter 20: Chapter 20: Conversations and Discoveries About the U.A. Sports Festival

**Chapter 20: Conversations and Discoveries About the U.A. Sports Festival**

The morning light streamed through the windows of Class 1-A, casting a golden glow over the room. The air was thick with anticipation, a tangible energy that buzzed like static electricity. The announcement of the U.A. Sports Festival had ignited a fire in the hearts of the students, and now, as they sat at their desks, the weight of the opportunity pressed heavily on their shoulders. This was their chance to step into the spotlight, to prove themselves not just to their peers, but to the world of professional heroes.

Aizawa stood at the front of the room, his usual slouched posture and tired eyes doing little to mask the gravity of his words. His voice, though calm and measured, carried an authority that silenced even the faintest whisper.

"As I mentioned yesterday," he began, his gaze sweeping over the class, "the U.A. Sports Festival is more than just a school event. It's a proving ground. This is where heroes are born, where agencies scout for the next generation of talent. Your performance here could define your future."

The room was still, the weight of his words sinking in. Yaoyorozu Momo, ever the diligent student, raised her hand with practiced precision. "Sensei," she began, her voice steady but laced with curiosity, "could you elaborate on what agencies are looking for? Is it purely combat ability, or are there other factors?"

Aizawa nodded, acknowledging the question. "Agencies are looking for more than raw power. They want to see how you handle pressure, how creatively you use your Quirks, and how you work with others. Even if you don't win, a strong showing in these areas can make a lasting impression."

Bakugo Katsuki, seated near the back, leaned back in his chair with his arms crossed, his trademark scowl etched deep into his features. "It's simple," he growled, his voice dripping with confidence. "I'm gonna win. I'll take first place, and that's all anyone needs to know."

A few students rolled their eyes, but no one dared to challenge him. Todoroki Shoto, sitting silently a few rows away, stared at his desk, his mind elsewhere. The memory of Natsu's flames during their battle with the Nomu lingered in his thoughts, a flickering reminder of the power he had yet to fully embrace. His hand, resting on the desk, clenched into a fist. If he wanted to step out of his father's shadow, he would have to confront the fire within himself. But the thought was a storm, raging and unresolved.

Kaminari Denki, ever the joker, broke the tension with a nervous laugh. "Well, Bakugo's got the confidence part down, at least. For the rest of us, I guess we'll have to get creative, huh?"

The class erupted into light laughter, the tension easing just enough to breathe.

Aizawa continued, detailing the structure of the festival: the obstacle course, the cavalry battle, and the one-on-one matches. Each stage was designed to test different aspects of their abilities, and the students listened intently, their minds racing with strategies and possibilities.

When the briefing ended, the class broke into smaller groups, the hum of conversation filling the room. Yaoyorozu approached Natsu, who had been unusually quiet throughout the discussion. His fiery demeanor seemed subdued, replaced by a thoughtful silence.

"Natsu," she said, her tone polite but earnest, "I was wondering if you'd like to train with Kaminari and me. Your performance during the last battle was incredible, and I think we could learn a lot from you."

Natsu blinked, caught off guard by the request. "Uh, sure," he replied, scratching the back of his head with a sheepish grin. "I don't mind."

Kaminari appeared at Yaoyorozu's side, his trademark grin lighting up his face. "Great! Maybe you can teach me how to throw a punch without frying my own brain in the process."

The trio made their way to the training grounds, the afternoon sun casting long shadows across the field. The air was alive with the sounds of their classmates training, the clashing of Quirks and the shouts of encouragement creating a symphony of determination.

As they began their drills, it became clear that each of them brought something unique to the table. Yaoyorozu's strategic mind was already at work, analyzing every move and countermove. Kaminari's quick reflexes and lighthearted humor kept the mood upbeat, even as he struggled to control the unpredictable nature of his Quirk. And Natsu—though he lacked the tactical finesse of his peers—demonstrated a raw, instinctive power that was impossible to ignore.

Their training was a blend of focus and laughter, a delicate balance between honing their skills and enjoying the camaraderie. They experimented with different strategies, testing how their Quirks could complement one another. Kaminari's electrifying attacks, though erratic, could create openings for Natsu's devastating blows. Yaoyorozu's ability to create tools and weapons on the fly added a layer of versatility that tied the team together.

As the hours passed, the sun dipped lower in the sky, painting the horizon in shades of orange and pink. The trio finally called it a day, their bodies weary but their spirits high.

Kaminari collapsed onto the grass, his chest heaving as he caught his breath. "Not bad for a day's work," he said, a grin spreading across his face. "I mean, I think we've got a solid shot at making it through the first round, at least."

Yaoyorozu, ever the perfectionist, wasn't quite ready to relax. "We still have a lot to improve," she said, though a small smile tugged at the corners of her lips. "But I agree—we're getting there."

Natsu sat down beside them, his fiery hair damp with sweat. He leaned back on his hands, gazing up at the darkening sky. "Yeah," he said, his voice tinged with quiet confidence. "I think we'll be ready. Besides, it's just the sports festival, right? How hard can it be?"

Kaminari burst out laughing, the sound echoing across the training grounds. "Famous last words, Natsu. Famous last words."

As they made their way back to the dorms, the weight of the upcoming festival still loomed large. But now, it was accompanied by a newfound sense of camaraderie—a belief that, together, they could face whatever challenges lay ahead. The road to the U.A. Sports Festival was fraught with uncertainty, but for Natsu, Yaoyorozu, and Kaminari, it was a journey they were ready to take.
