Chapter 198: Chapter 198 : Shocking Love
Yuta lay in the rubble, his body aching from the burns left by Sukuna's fire arrow. Rika knelt beside him, big fat tears streamed down her face. Her cries were heartbreaking, her voice full of fear. "Yuta… Yuta! Are you dying? Please don't leave me!"
Yuta's vision was blurry from the pain, but he forced a soft chuckle. "That goddamn monster, what was that attack…." He reached up, gently touching her head from his left and glanced at his right hand only to see that it was gone. Even there were significant burn marks on his chest making him curse even more. His fingers were scorched, his body felt weak, and the blood lost by that attack alone was enough to put him out the commission but he couldn't bear to see her in so much pain so he before doing something about himself decided to comfort her first.
"Rika, don't cry," he said, his voice soft but firm. He closed his eyes and focused inward, only activating his RCT he started to heal himself. The healing energy spread through his body, soothing the burns and regenerating his skin slowly but steadily. It was painful, but he gritted his teeth to ease Rika's worries.
RCT is not just mere healing, it can regrow even lost limbs if powerful enough. And his was the strongest as he got it from the best. In second the lost arm reappeared, making him gasp at how magical it was, thought strangely the new arm didn't feel as strong, maybe he will take some time getting use to or just that arm need a little more blood flow. Yuta sat up slowly, still feeling a dull ache in his muscles. "See? I told you, I'm fine," he said with a gentle smile. He actually was, besides losing quite a some of his, suffering pain from losing a limb and lastly wondering what he will do next, he technically had no problem.
Rika sniffled, wiping her tears with her small hand. "I… uh….I.. I thought that you are going to die," she whimpered, still visibly shaken.
"Don't worry, those who put me closer to death have a bigger problem heading their way" Yuta replied with a knowing smile and a little frustration, his voice.
If possible he wanted his Prime Time to be activated right now, god only knows that need that. But he can't control when it activates, he only it does when he is closer to dying and it didn't activate now means that he wasn't..
He reached out, patting her head reassuringly. "So, don't worry about it, I won't leave you… because Legends Don't Die." Yuta said while giving a cheeky smile to the small girl. Although the girl didn't care much about wha the was saying, tears were still flowing from her eyes.
"It's my fault," she whispered, her voice breaking. Tears welled up in her eyes again, flowing freely down her face. "If I hadn't been there, if bad man hadn't aimed at me, you wouldn't have gotten hurt."
Yuta, still a little weak from using the Reverse Cursed Technique, tried to reach out to her again, but Rika pulled away slightly, shaking her head. "You got hurt because of me. It's just like before… everyone I care about gets hurt."
Her voice became shaky as she continued, her words filled with sadness. "My father left me. My mother… she's gone. And now you…" She covered her face with her hands, her cries growing louder. "I don't want to lose you too, Yuta.
Yuta's heart clenched at her words.
He had no idea why Rika think that both her parents left her but that wasn't what happened. He did his research and knew that wasn't the case.
He could see the deep pain Rika was carrying, her fear of losing him, her guilt over things that wasn't even right.
"Rika…" he said softly, his voice filled with warmth despite his exhaustion. But the girl was still going on and crying. Sigh he look out only for a second only to see those two monsters still fighting and turn his attention to the little girl.
'Well they can wait for few minutes, its not like I know how to stop them anyway.'
"RIKA." This time Yuta said with a little more power behind his voice, forcefully making the sobbing girl look at him with attention.
"I will not leave you." Yuta was slow and clear with his words, making sure that those words go through her.
Rika hearing this pursed her lips, trying to hold back her tears.
"I will never leave you alone just like your parents didn't leave you Rika. They love you and still do. They leave the country because they can't seem to live in that house where you weren't there anymore." Yuta's voice softened again, slowly he etched towards her while his hands soothed her back.
The girl was still trying to put a brave front in front of him but after hearing those words, more tears started to appear on her face.
"But they they are… " Rika wanted to say something but Yuta stopped her.
"They are completely fine and now live abroad, just becuase of you Rika."
Rika hearing this shook her small head, like denying that fact. Not wanting to believe it.
"Here look at this…" Yuta took out a paper from his storage and handed it over to the little girl. Rika didn't understand what the official paper was but her eyes were only a picture at the paper.
"Mama, Papa…" More tears appear on her face.
"They are alive and now even have a daughter yours know. Your sister who is only a year old. She name her after you." Yuta said with a smile on his face.
"They are happy because what you did back then Rika, you are a hero. So don't think that they left you." Yuta said again wrapping his hands around the little girl where she was clutching that piece of paper like it was her lifeline and sobbing uncontrollably.
"No…no I am not. I can't even use my quirk right. Back then… back then… I..I" She wanted to say something but her breathing was too chaotic or form a sentence right.
"Back then you acted just like a hero. Because of you they are alive today Rika. I have no idea why you think that they left you or they are dead. But that is not the case." Yuta pull the small girl closer to himself while she was still sobbing.
Seeing this he could only sigh.
Rika's past was a sad story… what happened then, when he learned he felt both pity and anger.
It was a completely fine day when both of her parents took out outside, going to the bank along the way which turn out to be the biggest mistake because some bloody Shie Hassaikai thug plan to attack the bank that day.
Almost 200 people were put at that gun point back then.
No hero did anything, none could do as "THEIR QUIRKS WERE NOT SUITABLE FOR THE TASK".
The thugs had demanded and even kill two people. The third was supposed to be one of her parents.
Seeing one of her loved one at the gun point, the little girl couldn't take it anymore, born with a powerful quirk, a quirk that even she couldn't control much like how it was with Mirio.
She was used to call useless by many of her peers but that day, the girl showed everyone what a person can do when their love one at the line.
Her quirk is Immobalize.
She can stop the motion of anything. A very powerful quirk honestly but she can't control it.
When she use it, she stop her own heart, her breathing, her blood flow and almost everyone around her, becuase she don't know how to control it.
That day, this little girl not only saved only her parents but more than 200 people while completely immobilize the thugs and herself.
"There is no greater act of Heroism than self-sacrifice…" Yuta said while rubbing her back.
"You are a very brave girl Rika. Only becuase of you that your parents and more than 200 people that they survived."
Hearing this slightly quietens her down, apparently all those suppressed emotions are coming out.
Maybe the girl thought that because back then she couldn't control her power, her parents and others were also died with her, maybe she blamed her. Yuta wasn't sure what she was thinking but this was weighing down on her and Yuta feel bad for her.
He long wanted to say this to her, but he was afraid to bring this topic in front of her. Not sure how the girl will react to this.
"But but… I use my quirk… The doctor said that its dang…" Rika was saying but Yuta again stopped her.
"You did nothing wrong, its only becuase of your quirk and and you that those many people are alive today Rika.
Don't listen to that stupid Doctor. Remember what you did back then, only a true hero can do it. you knew what could happen when you use the quirk and you still did it yes." Yuta asked while looking at her face.
Her eyes were red by now, she was trembling in his arms and nodded.
"Then you are a Hero. Becuase no one else can sacrifice themselves like that besides a hero Rika." Yuta smiled and rubbed her head.
"No… I am not…" Rika tried to say but Yuta once again stopped her.
"You are, I know you are becuase you are my hero." Yuta said stopping the girl at her track.
"You don't become a hero when you want to Rika. You become one when others recognize you a one. I am sure those people whom you saved back then and their families.
For them, you are a Hero. Just as much as you are for me Rika. So don't think that I will leave you. Just like your parents, I will too never leave you." Yuta said, finally her cries were ending.
"Wahh….." Well only for a second before she started crying again, though this time Yuta could say that this cry was her unloading all those pent-up emotions. Clutching to his shirt tight she shed tear after tear until his entire shirt, which was already burned by half was completely torn apart.
"Rika, here look at this…" Yuta said but she didn't look at him.
"Rika,… see what I have," Yuta said again, still maintaining her soft voice.
Rika slowly looked up, now looking a little embarrassed as she cried so much earlier.
"This…"
Yuta was holding a scarf in his hand, or at least what seemed to be like a scarf. This was what he had gotten from that box he saw back then. This and a Diary.
"That is my scarf." Rika said and immediately wanted to take it from Yuta but before she could do that, she notice that the scarf was in tatters.
"This…" she saw many holes in the scarf, it was in tatters and almost falling apart. The one pure white sharp was now dirty and with many holes.
A very sad look spread across her eyes.
"5 years…" Yuta said when he saw this, a smile appeared on his face.
"Took you 5 years to make this right. You didn't know how to and were too small so that your mother also refused to teach you how to…" Yuta said knowing it becuase it was in the Diary.
"You know…" Rika now looked surprised.
"Not everything? You never mention in the dairy why you made it. But I would love to if you tell me…" He slowly Handed the scarf to her.
Rika looked at the tattered piece of cloth and frowned, not sure what she was thinking.
"I… I… I wanted to gift it to you."
"Me!" Yuta was taken aback at this.
"I wanted to thank you for saving me. And to tell you that… I …" She stopped.
Yuta seeing this looked at the scarf with a frown.
"So you struggle that much to make this scarf for 5 years to give it to me ?"
Rika just pursed her lips… seeing the scarf she remembered how many times she begged her mother to teach her but due to she her too small she didn't.
Remember how many times she hurt herself while use those big needles.
She wanted to make it white, but sometimes her blood fell on it and she had to restart.
How when she finally completed, it just happened to be that Yuta shifted to another place.
How for more than half a decade she wished to tell what she felt for him. And all that effort and emotions now lay in her palms, eaten by rats and dirty.
This time no tear fell but if they had then they surely would have been worth more than how much she had cried before.
"It's fine… It's just something I did as a hobby. I… I am fi…" She stopped again, not wanting to cry again.
Yuta didn't do anything, just slowly took the scarf from her hand and slowly wrapped it around himself.
"Yuta that dirty…" Rika tried to snatch it from him but Yuta just stopped her.
"Hell no, you made it for me right. There is no way I am leaving it."
"But…" Tears also were at the verge of falling again, her voice was cracking.
"You know what… this is the first time I have felt this emotion after my grandma passed away…
I thought I will never get to use this but maybe I have to thank Todo after all." Yuta smile and then for somewhere took out a card.
[Host Wish to Use Repair Card]
Yuta smirk.
Rika didn't get it what he was doing but suddenly a slight shine and the next second she saw a silky white scarf was on Yuta's neck.
"This ?"
" Thank you. I love the gift Rika. I can't say I can get a better gift than this in my entire life." A big smile on the face, Yuta said while wrapping her in his arms.
Finally that one tear which was left fell.
"Yuta…I… I…" Rika finally wanted to say something and this time even Yuta didn't stop her either but that was when both them felt the pressure around them change.
'This…' Yuta's eyes widen. He knew this feeling. This was a Domain, and this big, it covered almost all of Shibuya.
"Sukuna's Domain." Yuta's mind raced, there is no way he could escape in this if that monster started throwing slashes. This this range? Even if he is only targeting that big monster and him, he can't escape even if he use his best speed.
A big frown appear on his face. He immediately took Rika in her arms, at least he have to try. His Sharingan saw how far the range of the open domain was and his heart sank.
'What kind of monster is this guy…'
Just when he was panicking, he suddenly felt a soft sensation on his lips…
