Chapter 7: 「UA Entrance Exam pt.1」
Izuku adopted this routine and the slums grew better than what he had expected. Of course, he took the role of the leader for it nonetheless.
The buildings were in much better shape, they became safer, and people were less hungry. Why? Because Izuku and the other older residents created a new system in the slums to allow themselves to be self-sustainable.
Starting from generating their own power and water, and towards growing and providing their own food. They also solidified their currency of information exchange, which allowed the people to be useful and provide for themselves as well.
That night, Izuku was alone. Blood trickled down his body, but it wasn't his own blood. He had just killed a person.
But Izuku couldn't feel much about it.
That was an aspect he realized after using Ghostly Rise for a while. It numbed its user toward death, making them feel nothing even when they took the lives of normal people.
It was fascinating.
"Whatcha doin', boss?"
"Just call me Hizashi, Reaper." Izuku turned toward the small figure. Reaper had been a great help as his assistant to revamp the slums.
"Alright, whatcha doin' here anyway? Oh you killed a police officer again?" Reaper's eyes gleamed as he started to search the officer's dead body.
"Accidentally. But I realized something."
"What?"
"It's almost too easy," Izuku softly muttered, his gaze fixated on the dead body. "They only send officers here and no heroes. Those dumb punks don't care about this place, but the fact they aren't sending a hero even after all the officers not coming back is truly fascinating."
Reaper shrugged casually, "They just never care. A bunch of fake punks in this hypocritical society."
"Heh. Couldn't have said it better."
"You should sleep, you have important matters tomorrow, right?" as he started cleaning up the scene, Reaper waved Izuku off.
Izuku nodded with a smile. The next day was very important for him, it was finally time to visit UA.

Next day morning.
The massive gates of UA High School loomed in front of Izuku, the place was honestly obnoxiously grand, making him feel ironic about how he yearned for this place before.
However, this place no longer represented any significant value to Izuku. It was a mere stepping stone to achieve his goals.
Adjusting his purple coat, Izuku's lips curled into a faint smirk. He noticed a few goofy teenagers but he ignored them and headed toward the registration office.
There, he handed the instructor his identification papers without any fear. The power of Reaper's quirk wasn't going to be exposed under this simple examination.
Without paying him much interest, the instructor scanned them and noted Izuku's information before handing him a number.
"Take this to the mainHall, after the instructions, you'll be guided to your respective location," the instructor said curtly.
Izuku nodded, then walked toward the hall, no one paid much attention to him. That was exactly how he liked it.
The hall was packed, buzzing with nervous energy minus some calm teenagers. Izuku casually looked around the crowd before his gaze fell onto a familiar spiky-dog-like boy.
'Well, well, well, guess who is here?'
Izuku's smirk widened slightly, but he didn't let his gaze linger. He had no intention to deal with Bakugo for the time being. The real focus was the entrance exam, and Izuku planned to ace it.
All of the sudden, a booming voice silenced everyone.
"YOOOOOO! ARE YOU READY, STUDENTS?"
The pro hero Present Mic leapt onto the stage, his hair looked like a banana andIzuku had to wonder for the nth time why would someone wear sunglasses indoors.
The crowd winced at his voice which made him grin at them.
"WELCOME TO THE UA ENTRANCE EXAM! LET'S GET THIS PARTY STARTED!"
Izuku folded his arms and leaned back slightly, the students didn't give Present Mic the enthusiastic response he wanted. The pro hero had to dejectedly explain the exam rules.
The exam would consist of destroying robots for points. Different robots were worth varying amounts based on their size and difficulty.
A massive screen displayed the rules in bold text, but Present Mic shouted it as loud as possible anyway, as if worried they couldn't read.
Izuku's expression remained neutral, but his mind was busy.
'Destroying robots is nothing. Simple strength can't make you a hero, or else anyone can graduate from this high school. Is there some hidden test?'
Soon enough, The students were guided to different grounds according to the numbers they got before entering the hall.
Izuku stood among the other students before the massive gates. Without any countdown, the gates opened, showing the mock city behind them.
He didn't wait for an announcement. As soon as the gates creaked open, he darted forward, leaping through before anyone else could react.
"HEY! That's freaking cheating!" someone shouted from behind him.
Present Mic's laughter boomed from the speakers. "CHEATING? NAH, KIDDOS! REAL BATTLES DON'T COME WITH A COUNTDOWN! YOU GOTTA ACT FAST!"
Izuku smirked at the chaos he caused but didn't slow down. Ahead of him, the robots were already moving and ready to attack him.
Extending his hand, Izuku allowed his Ghostly Matter to coil around him like shadows before flicking his wrist. With each move, his Ghostly Matter invaded the robots' bodies and destroyed them from the inside out.
BOOM!
Some of the robots broke and some others exploded before toppling to the ground. The digital counter in the nearby office where a bunch of pro heroes watched was buzzing like crazy at every moment.
Unaware of that, Izuku had no reaction on his face as he utilized his quirk to move like an extension of his body to crush more robots.
Many people followed Izuku's example and before long, the mock city was littered with broken robots.
Looking around, the young man saw a few students struggling. But more importantly, there was a girl trapped under the debris.
Izuku's eyes shone at that sight as his lips stretched into a grin.
