MHA Dungeon Master

Chapter 34: Moment of Truth

After that, I contacted Touma using the system panel function, which allowed me to communicate with everyone I had granted permission to enter the dungeon. This function is truly practical; imagine, sending messages becomes much safer without worrying about our messages being tapped by third parties.

It is a very valuable feature, especially in maintaining the confidentiality and security of our communications, especially in important and secret situations like this. I felt relieved knowing that any sensitive instructions or information I sent to Touma would remain safe from unwanted eyes.

While waiting, I sat in my favorite swivel chair, looking out the window of my room that overlooked the backyard garden. Today the sky looked bright, with white clouds drifting slowly above. I occasionally glanced towards the door, impatiently waiting for Touma's arrival. It felt like only yesterday I met her, but now she has become one of my most reliable partners.

Not long after, as I expected, Touma's real body appeared in my room. Her presence is always silent, as if she could slip through the cracks of space and time. My advanced home security system, which I thought was already quite capable, did not detect her arrival at all. This made me think again about upgrading my security system. Maybe I need to add a layer of magical or technological security that is more sensitive to non-physical presences.

"Thank you for coming so quickly, Touma," I said sincerely, truly appreciating her rapid response. I stood up from my chair and faced her with a friendly smile.

Touma responded with a small nod and a polite smile. "Of course, Himaru-sama. What can I help you with?" Touma replied respectfully, ready to assist with whatever I needed. Her calm eyes radiated a readiness and loyalty that always made me feel safe and assured.

"You must have received information from your clone that your mission is complete, right? So, I want you to enter this new dungeon with me. I need your help to explore this dungeon, and if necessary, to help me face some difficult enemies inside," I explained, outlining the situation. I looked at her hopefully, making sure she understood the importance of this mission.

Touma nodded, showing full understanding of the situation I had described. "Yes, I will do my best to help you clear this dungeon quickly, Himaru-sama!" she agreed without the slightest hesitation. Her tone was full of confidence, and I felt the burden on my shoulders lighten a little.

"Touma, can't you stop adding '-sama' at the end of my name? You were also a modern person, right? You should know that's unnecessary, right?" I asked, trying for the umpteenth time to correct the way she addressed me. I sighed slightly, hoping she would consider it this time.

Touma was silent for a moment, appearing to think, before replying with a small, slightly mischievous smile. "Sorry, Himaru-sama, I can't do that. Although I understand your intention, I still want to add '-sama' to your name. Consider it my selfish desire. But don't worry, Himaru-sama, I will adapt to the situation, so please don't think too much about it," she replied in a soft but firm tone. Despite the refusal, her smile made it impossible for me to be angry.

"Alright, if that's your wish, haha..." Since this was Touma's personal preference, I could only give in. I chuckled, feeling a little amused by her sweet stubbornness. "The important thing is, we can work well together."

After informing her about the current situation, I invited Touma to enter the level two dungeon with me. Together, we would explore and face all the challenges ahead. I felt the spirit of adventure ignite within me, and Touma's presence by my side further solidified my courage.

[Welcome to Cyber Nexus Ex Machina]

Upon entering the dungeon, an amazing sight immediately greeted me. I saw a futuristic city filled with towering skyscrapers. This view was truly stunning and was a striking contrast to the gloomy and scary vampire dungeon. This dungeon felt alive and dynamic, far different from the eerie atmosphere of the previous dungeon.

The sky here was very bright, unlike the vampire dungeon which only had a scary night atmosphere with little moonlight. This lively and bright environment gave a refreshing new atmosphere, making me feel more excited to explore this dungeon. The air here felt clean and fresh, with a faint scent of ozone, perhaps coming from the advanced technology around here.

After observing the surroundings, I turned my attention to Touma who was standing beside me. Her presence truly made me feel more confident in exploring this dungeon. I knew, together with Touma, we could overcome any obstacles that lay ahead. I looked at her, trying to read her always calm facial expression.

"Touma, do you feel any limitations since entering this dungeon?" I asked, curious if she felt any power limitations as I suspected. I raised my eyebrow, waiting for her answer carefully.

"It seems I am limited to the same level as you here, which is level 20," Touma replied, confirming my suspicion. Her tone remained calm, indicating readiness to face challenges even with level restrictions. There was not a hint of disappointment or worry in her voice, only calmness and focus.

"So, we can't clear this dungeon using your level advantage," I commented, feeling a little worried about the increased level of difficulty. I sighed slightly, realizing that this dungeon would be a real test of our abilities.

"That's right, but with my help, we can explore this dungeon more efficiently," Touma reassured me with unwavering confidence.

With Touma's help, I felt more prepared to face the obstacles in this new dungeon. Together, we would definitely be able to explore the Cyber Nexus Ex Machina dungeon deeper and faster. I nodded firmly, returning her smile, and we began to step into the heart of this futuristic city. A new adventure had begun.

---

Time passed quickly, and before I knew it, it had been two years since Touma came to this world. Over these two years, many things had changed and developed. We had overcome various challenges and achievements that made our lives more colorful and meaningful. The world around me continued to move forward, and I felt proud to be part of this change.

Now I am in my final year of elementary school. This year is full of memories and preparations for facing a more challenging future. I will soon be a junior high school student, and I felt a mixed feeling of excitement and anxiety. Elementary school would soon be over, and a new chapter in my life would soon begin.

As usual, Emilia and I always released new games, but this time was different because we only released one game in two years. We wanted to make sure the game we created was truly high quality and met players' expectations. We didn't want to rush, quality was our top priority this time.

This game is Hollow Knight. Developing this game was a heavy task for both of us, but fortunately, Emilia had a quirk that helped her draw faster. She used her quirk to control many pens to draw on many tablets, making the game development process more efficient. Emilia's creativity and efficiency are truly extraordinary.

This greatly sped up our game development process, but that's not the only reason she did this. She also did it to improve her quirk usage. So, this was also a training process for her, improving her skills and abilities in using her quirk. Emilia is always looking for ways to grow and maximize her potential.

"I can't believe we finally finished Hollow Knight. It feels like a dream," I said with deep gratitude. I looked at the computer screen displaying the finished game's main page, feeling proud of our hard work.

"Yeah, I also feel very proud of what we have achieved. These last two years have truly been filled with hard work and dedication," Emilia replied with a happy smile. Her smile was contagious, and I felt the fatigue during the game development process completely paid off.

When we finished working on this project, we held a big celebration, inviting many of our acquaintances, such as Ryuko-nee's family, Itsuka's family, and Todoroki's family. This celebration coincided with the announcement of our elementary school graduation, making this moment very special for all of us. The party atmosphere was very lively, full of laughter and happiness.

Finally, I graduated from elementary school. These times felt like torture for a man with an adult soul like me to play with little kids. Acting like a little kid was tiring, and I even wondered how Conan could go through more than 1000 episodes without experiencing mental breakdown in that anime. Graduating from elementary school felt like an achievement in itself.

I hope to start a new adventure in junior high school with the same enthusiasm that we had when developing Hollow Knight. Every challenge that comes my way will be faced with the courage and dedication that I have learned over these last two years. I am ready for a new chapter in my life.

Since I have now graduated from elementary school, I feel this is the right time to tell my family about the true nature of my quirk. This moment feels right because I believe I am mature enough and ready to share this important secret with them. This is a big step that I must take carefully. I feel responsible for being honest with my family, even though there is a slight sense of nervousness.

I have postponed this revelation for various reasons. There were several factors that made me hesitate and choose to postpone this disclosure. Each reason felt valid at the time, but now I feel that the time has come.

First, currently I can only invite other people to dungeons where I have already defeated the BOSS. This is a quite significant limitation.

So, for now, I can only help them level up in the first level dungeon, which can only be used to level up to a maximum of level 20 and increase quirks to a maximum of level 2. This limitation made me feel not ready to tell them before. I want to give the best for my family, and this limitation felt like a barrier.

I have proven this by leveling up my two quirks, Mental Barrier and Blood Shifter, to level 2. These results show that the level limit is real, and I still need time to open access to higher levels. My experiments have confirmed the limitations of the first level dungeon.

Second, I was very busy during this period, from developing games to cleaning up the robots that filled the level two dungeon. This busyness took up a lot of my time and energy.

Yes, the level two dungeon is filled with various robots that will swarm and attack us if we make too much noise inside the dungeon. This busyness made it difficult for me to find the right time to talk to my family. I didn't want this important conversation to be interrupted by daily busyness.

So, Touma and I always tried to defeat them in a quieter and quicker way to engage in battle to avoid being swarmed by them. This strategy required high coordination and speed. We had to work together perfectly to avoid mistakes that could be fatal.

It took Touma and me two years to get the key item in the form of puzzles that would drop when we defeated them. This process was long and full of challenges, but we managed to overcome it with good cooperation. Each puzzle we collected was the result of our struggle and perseverance.

"This is truly a tiring task, Touma," I said, feeling relieved after completing this heavy task. I wiped the sweat from my forehead, feeling physical and mental fatigue after the long battle.

"Indeed, but the results are worth it. We finally got all the puzzles we needed," Touma replied, agreeing with my complaint with a small smile. Her smile is always calming and uplifting.

The BOSS location on this floor is very easy to find, because it is in the middle of the dungeon map inside a very tall and large building. This building towers like a lighthouse, becoming a focal point in this futuristic city. The building looked magnificent and intimidating, as if storing extraordinary power.

But to enter this building, we needed many puzzles that could only be obtained by defeating the robots in the dungeon. Each puzzle we collected was the result of hard work and long battles. Each puzzle is a symbol of our struggle and perseverance.

And because there were two of us, the number of puzzles needed doubled. This made our task even more challenging but also sparked our fighting spirit. This challenge actually made us even more motivated to prove our abilities.

"Touma, we finally finished collecting all the puzzles. This has been a long journey," I said, reflecting on our two-year struggle. I looked at Touma, feeling the strong bond that had formed between us during this adventure.

"Yes, Himaru-sama. Our hard work has paid off. Now we are ready to face the BOSS," Touma replied with burning enthusiasm. Her eyes sparkled with spirit, ready for the final battle.

This task was just completed a moment ago, so we both decided to rest for a while before we started facing the BOSS. This rest is important to restore our energy and strategize. We need time to gather strength and plan the best tactics to defeat the BOSS.

And in the midst of this short break, I am ready to tell my family about my true quirk. This moment will be very important, and I hope they can accept my secret and support me as they always have. I took a deep breath, strengthened my heart, and prepared to face this life-changing moment.
