MHA: A King's Legacy (BNHA x AOT)

Chapter 103: 103: Date [III]

Their first stop was the Jellyfish Hall, a dark room illuminated only by glowing, ethereal jellyfish floating behind enormous glass panels. The jellyfish pulsed with bioluminescent hues of blue, pink, and purple, creating a dreamlike ambiance.

Honey pressed her face against the glass. "They look like tiny, floating galaxies…"

Aiden stood beside her, watching the jellyfish drift lazily through the water. "It's kind of hypnotic."

Honey turned to him with a smile. "You know, some species of jellyfish are technically immortal. They revert back to their polyp stage instead of dying, meaning they can potentially live forever."

Aiden raised an eyebrow. "You saying I should be taking notes?"

She giggled. "No, I'm saying they should be taking notes from you."

Aiden chuckled, amused. "Fair enough."

They stood there for a moment in comfortable silence, watching the glowing creatures pulse with life.

Then Honey nudged him playfully. "Race you to the next exhibit!"

And just like that, she was off.

Aiden sighed. "Why am I always the one getting dragged around?"

Still, he followed her, shaking his head with a small smile.

The River Otter Cove was the next stop, and it was clear that this was Honey's favorite.

She practically squealed when she saw the playful otters tumbling and rolling in the water, chasing each other in circles. One of them flipped onto its back and began floating, lazily munching on a small fish.

"LOOK AT THEM!" Honey nearly burst into tears from sheer joy. "They're so cute!"

"I think you might love them more than me."

Honey, without missing a beat, grabbed his arm and pulled him down to her level. "No one tops you, Aiden, but these little guys are a close second."

"I'll take it."

One of the otters swam up to the glass, staring directly at them before pressing its tiny paws against the surface. Honey gasped.

"Aiden, it likes us!"

Aiden tapped the glass with his finger, and the otter playfully bopped its nose against the spot he touched. Honey clutched her heart. "I need one."

"You can't have one," Aiden deadpanned.

Honey pouted. "Let me dream."

After a few more stops, they finally reached one of the biggest highlights of the aquarium—the Deep Sea Tunnel.

A massive, curved glass tunnel stretched before them, completely surrounded by water. Schools of fish, sharks, and even a massive sea turtle glided gracefully above them, casting shifting shadows over the walkway.

Honey sighed happily. "I feel like I'm inside the ocean."

Aiden had to agree—it was a surreal experience. As they walked through, a large shadow suddenly loomed overhead. Looking up, they saw a whale shark slowly drifting past, its massive body covered in white spots like a starry night sky.

Honey grabbed Aiden's arm in excitement. "It's huge!"

Aiden glanced down at her, noticing the way her eyes sparkled with wonder. He wasn't sure what it was about this moment, but something about seeing her so happy made his heart do a little flip.

Without thinking, he reached out and gently tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear.

Honey blinked up at him, her breath hitching slightly.

For a brief second, neither of them said anything. The water shimmered around them, and the world seemed to slow.

Then, a loudspeaker announced, "Attention guests! The sea lion show is starting in five minutes!"

The moment broke.

Honey pulled back, her face slightly flushed. "O-Oh! We should go see that!"

Aiden cleared his throat, shoving his hands into his pockets. "Yeah. Let's go."

After the sea lion show (which Honey loved), they ended their aquarium trip with some snacks from the café. Honey happily munched on a churro while Aiden sipped his drink, both of them feeling content.

"This was a great day," Honey said with a dreamy sigh.

Aiden smirked. "Glad you dragged me here?"

"Absolutely."

The sun hung low on the horizon, its golden light melting into soft hues of pink and violet. A warm, salty breeze drifted in from the ocean, carrying with it the rhythmic sounds of crashing waves and the occasional call of distant seagulls.

Honey and I strolled along the beach, our bare feet sinking into the cool, damp sand with every step. The tide had receded, leaving behind shimmering pools of water that reflected the sky in breath taking colours.

She swung our joined hands lightly, humming some tune under her breath, a soft, content smile playing on her lips. "You know," she said after a moment, "I don't think I've ever walked on the beach at sunset before. It's… really something else."

I glanced at her, watching the way the fading sunlight cast a warm glow on her skin, the wind tousling her golden curls. She looked beautiful.

"Yeah," I murmured. "Something else, indeed."

She turned to me, catching my gaze. For a second, neither of us said anything. The moment stretched between us, fragile and charged, like the space between two waves just before they meet. Then, with a small, shy smile, she nudged my shoulder. "You're staring, Your Majesty."

I smirked. "And?"

She giggled. "And I know I look good, but you're making it a little obvious."

I laughed, shaking my head. "Can't help it."

Her cheeks warmed, but she didn't let go of my hand. Instead, she pulled me toward the water, our steps slow and unhurried. The ocean lapped at our feet, its cool touch a stark contrast against the lingering warmth of the sun.

For a while, we just walked.

The world around us felt distant—muted, like it existed only in the periphery of this moment. It was just me, Honey, and the sea, stretching endlessly before us.

She suddenly let go of my hand and spun around, arms outstretched. "I feel so free right now!" she said, laughing as the wind played with her hair. "Like nothing else matters except this moment. You ever feel like that?"

I watched her, my smirk softening into something more… gentle. "Yeah. I feel like that right now."

She paused, meeting my gaze again. This time, her smile faltered just slightly—like she wasn't sure if she was supposed to feel something more from my words.

I decided to make sure she did.

With a subtle flick of my fingers, I reached into my power, bending reality just enough to enhance the atmosphere. The colours of the sunset deepened, streaks of gold and crimson bleeding into the sky like a painted masterpiece.

The waves shimmered more vibrantly, the bioluminescent glow of tiny sea creatures coming to life beneath the water's surface.

A gentle, fragrant breeze swept past us, carrying the delicate scent of blooming flowers—despite the fact that none should be growing on this stretch of sand.

[A/N: Ehem. Do note that Aiden did not manipulate the atmosphere directly as that would require a lot of energy to maintain. He manipulated the area around them, kinda like a real/false illusion]

Honey inhaled sharply. "Did you just—?"

"Maybe."

She turned to me, eyes wide with wonder. "Aiden."

I grinned. "I figured if we're doing a sunset walk on the beach, we might as well do it right."

She turned in a slow circle, taking everything in—the way the sky had become impossibly breathtaking, the way the stars above seemed to twinkle just a little brighter, the way the waves shimmered like liquid light.

Then she looked back at me, and for the first time tonight, she seemed speechless.

I raised an eyebrow. "What? No more teasing me about my powers?"

She bit her lip, looking me up and down like she was seeing me in a whole new way. "I knew you were powerful, but this… This is something else entirely."

I smirked. "Told you."

She shook her head in awe, then suddenly grinned mischievously. "So, since you're clearly all-powerful… how about something a little more daring?"

I narrowed my eyes playfully. "What are you scheming, mad scientist?"

She wiggled her eyebrows. "Skinny dipping."

I blinked. "What."

She laughed at my reaction, already pulling at the buttons of her blazer. "Come on, the water looks amazing right now! And we have this entire part of the beach to ourselves. No one's gonna see us!"

I crossed my arms, feigning skepticism. "So let me get this straight—you're proposing we get completely naked and swim under a magically enhanced sunset?"

She grinned. "Yes."

I huffed a laugh. "You're insane."

"And you love it," she sang, already slipping out of her blazer.

I groaned, running a hand down my face. "I really do, don't I?"

Within minutes, we were in the water.

The first thing I noticed was how warm it was—not like the usual chill of the ocean, but a perfect, soothing temperature that wrapped around me like silk. I had, of course, subtly altered the environment to make sure of that.

Honey surfaced beside me, her golden hair slicked back, water droplets clinging to her skin in the dim, ambient light.

She laughed—a sound so pure, so free, that it sent something warm curling in my chest.

"This was such a good idea," she said, floating on her back. "I don't think I've ever done something this… spontaneous before."

I chuckled. "So the mad scientist has never broken the rules before?"

She smirked. "Not these rules."

I moved closer, treading water just beside her. "Well," I murmured, voice lower now, "I'm honored to be your partner in crime."

She turned her head, looking at me through her lashes. There was something different in her gaze now—something softer, something… expectant.

I reached out, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face.

"Aiden…" she whispered.

The waves rocked gently around us, the world suspended in this moment. Her lips parted slightly, and before I could second-guess myself, I leaned in.

The first touch of her lips was hesitant—just a soft, fleeting press.

Then she responded, and suddenly, the world around us faded completely.

Her arms wound around my neck, pulling me closer as I deepened the kiss. The warmth of her body, the saltwater clinging to her skin, the soft sigh she let out against my lips—it was intoxicating. I wrapped an arm around her waist, anchoring her to me as the waves swayed around us, carrying us deeper into something undeniable.

When we finally pulled away, her eyes were half-lidded, her breath uneven.

"Wow," she whispered, dazed.

I smirked, brushing my thumb over her cheek. "That good?"

She laughed breathlessly. "Shut up and kiss me again."

And who was I to deny her?

As the stars shimmered above and the ocean cradled us below, I kissed her again—slow, deep, and filled with something I hadn't realized had been building between us all along.

Maybe it had started with curiosity. Maybe it had started with simple attraction.

But now?

Now, I was sure.

I wanted her.

And judging by the way she melted into me, fingers tangling in my hair—

She wanted me too.
