Chapter 29: Getting Allies
Gloom's POV.
"Hey Shimmer, we've been flying for a couple of hours now, and you're the only one here who know anythinga bout a Nergigante, so where is it taking us?" I questioned my girlfried, holing onto the Nergigante's spikes to avoid falling.
Shimmer seemed to think about it for a moment, "Everything considered, we're probably going to the New World, I would explain more, but it's a long story." She told me, to which I nodded.
I looked forward, trying to see if I could see it, "What are we supposed to be looking for exactly?" I asked confused, "Basically any place where the biomes go in a spiral." Shimmer simply replied.
"So like that one?" I ask, pointing to a landmass that fits the description, "Let's see... Forest, desert, corals, crystals, snow, yeah, that's iIIIIT!!!" She confirmed before yelling in surprise as the Nergigante dived down at breakneck speed, "WHY DID WE DO THIS!?!?" I scream in horror as I see the ground getting closer.
Astera, Commander's POV.
"Are there any new sightings of the Equal Dragon Weapon?" I asked a group of hunters that just came back, "I'm afraid not sir, it might even have moved to another continent." They replied.
That information made me sigh in annoyance, "Damnit... And even the elder dragons aren't able to locate it." I mutter to myself as I walk over to a Valstrax that is helping with the search, "Commander, where is that thing up there?" A Handler asked as she came up to me, "Hmm?" I let out curiously as I looked up, seeing something quickly coming down.
"That looks like a Nergigante..." I deduce, but take a step back when I realize that it's dive bombing onto the camp, "It's slowing down!" I take notice, ready to give the order to move out of the way.
Shimmer's POV.
In a split secon decision to save our skin, I use my Vision to encase us in a sphere of Hydro which would hopefully cushion our fall, and luckily it did.
For the most part at least, if you exclude all the cracks it caused on the floor, "Gloom... Are you alive?" I call out as I check my head to see if I'm bleeding.
"...I'm still breathing if that counts..." Gloom responded sounding slightly light headed, at least until she slapped the Nergigante with her palm infused with Electro.
"I think I missed a part here, who are you?" The commander asked, and I immediately recognized him, "Nice to meet you! I'm Shimmer and this is Gloom, and what you're looking for is at our place." I quickly explained, knowing that's what they're dealing with right now.
The commander's eyes widened at the information I gave him, "So you know about the Equal Dagon Weapon huh?" He said, deducing that's what I'm talking about, "If you actually know where it is, then you would be of great help." He commented.
At that I scratch the back of my head as Gloom facepalmed, "We don't know where it is specifically, but with all the monsters coming over, it's definetly there." She elaborated for me.
"I see... Well it still narrows the location of our search, so I definetly won't complain." The commander said, "But I'm not sure how we can get there quickly, it seems like you came from really far away." He pointed out.
Admittedly I did not think about that problem, "We did fly for a few hours..." I confirm, feeling slightly troubled, "I think I have an idea..." Gloom thought outloud, "I'm gonna need your help though..." She told the Commander.
A Few Hours Later, Gloom's POV.
"Okay it's ready." I tell them, ignoring the slightly freaked out Valstrax that saw me use parts of it's kind to build this thing.
Shimmer and the commander walked around the contraption I made confused, "Is this supposed to help?" Shimmer skeptically questioned, "It is, just get a group of hunters and materials and have them step on the platform." I tell the commander, who orders some hunters to do as such, one expert for each weapon and their handlers.
Now that the hunters were ready, I use my wand to create a glass dome around the platform to avoid any issue, "Now hang tight." I advise them before removing the glass from the wand and replacing it with a clump of Dragon Energy.
"I think I know what you're planning to do, and I'm scared." Shimmer told me with upmost sincerity, "Don't worry, just put a piece of metal in your wand and control the jets." I instruct her, clearly making her even more unsure about this.
With Shimmer ready, I went to an insert and put the tip of my wand in it, shooting Dragon Energy in it, powering the jets like a Valstrax, and with Shimmer controlling the orientation of the jets, they managed to get on the way back to Teyvat.
"HOLD ON!!! WE SHOULD BE ABLE TO GET THERE IN JUST A COUPLE OF MINUTES LIKE THIS!!!" I yell at the hunters and handlers so that they keep steady as Shimmer directs the jets in the right direction.
