Melting Pot Concept in Marvel

Chapter 13: Chapter 13: Let's start Melting!

"Listen up, Director, I'm done!"

"The new president of Oscorp is a complete idiot! Fk!"

Having left Oscorp, "Natalie" walked into a secluded corner, switched on her satellite phone, and launched into a tirade.

On the other end, Nick Fury listened patiently to her barrage of curses, gradually piecing together what had happened.

"Natasha, have you considered that maybe your charm has slipped lately?"

"Or maybe you're just not his type?"

"I don't think a man who showed up out of nowhere, swung around New York City like it was his personal playground, somehow got involved with Bishop Security and Oscorp, and then overnight became Oscorp's biggest shareholder, is an idiot."

"Is Norman Osborn an idiot? Is Eleanor Bishop a fool?"

"Think it through—maybe the problem lies with you."

Natasha (a.k.a. "Natalie") was fuming. Is he implying my style isn't sexy enough, or that their standards are just too high? Is some clueless college girl better at picking up signals than me? She was the Black Widow, after all! One look and she could read a man, one move and she could get exactly what he wanted…

"I refuse to continue dealing with that jerk!"

"Okay, I'll assign someone else to approach him. Stick to our original plan—go and get close to Stark Industries. I've already made progress with his assistant, so you'll have no trouble there. Just don't tell me you can't handle one playboy this time."

Natasha rolled her eyes. She was supposed to infiltrate Stark Industries in the first place. Tony Stark was an incorrigible flirt, always easy for her to wrap around her finger. But she'd heard about some internal issues at Oscorp, that they were urgently looking for a secretary, so she'd rushed over, using her impeccable spy credentials and fluency in multiple languages to blend into the candidate pool at the last minute—only to be kicked out with a single sentence.

"I hate rich people! Fk!"

No sooner had she spat out her cursing than a "Pac-Man" icon suddenly popped up on her phone screen.

She stared, dumbfounded, as Pac-Man gobbled up one app after another, leaving her phone with a big smiley face…then the screen went black. It turned into a literal brick.

???

Her mind went blank. What just happened to my phone?

This was a specialized S.H.I.E.L.D. issue, and she definitely hadn't been watching…er…questionable videos. So how had it bricked out of nowhere?

Clenching her fists, Natasha felt her blood pressure spike. She hurled the phone in anger.

"Fk! Fk! Fk! Even my phone is messing with me! Go to hell, all of you!"

Meanwhile…

"I'm sorry, Boss. I looked into it. 'Natalie' was added to the interview process at the last minute this morning. I'll deal with the personnel responsible right away—take strict measures!"

Norman Osborn spoke very carefully, anxious to preserve Aaron's goodwill. He was utterly shaken by Aaron's mysterious abilities. After returning home the previous night, he'd tried to check the surveillance footage in the company systems—everything appeared normal. Then, in his private lab, he performed some quick tests on his body. Sure enough, the hereditary illness that had haunted his family for generations was completely gone. He felt healthier than ever, no longer under the shadow of that deadly genetic disease. If he'd had any doubts before, those tests had erased them.

Now Norman wanted to do his best to impress Aaron even more, hoping Aaron would also cure his son Harry. He didn't want his child to die miserably, never seeing a grandchild, just as Norman himself almost had.

Aaron waved dismissively. "From now on, any list of secretary candidates gets handed directly to me. As for that 'Natalie'…she is never allowed to set foot in Oscorp again."

"Understood!" Norman nodded.

"By the way, Boss, about what you instructed yesterday: I already told the procurement and storage departments to make emergency purchases. If you'd like to see…"

"Take me there."

Aaron paused, then gestured for Norman to lead the way. Immediately, Norman hurried forward.

Felicia didn't understand what was going on, thinking it must be some critical task. She steeled herself, planning how to demonstrate her competence. But when they arrived at a hidden storeroom filled with creepy-crawly bugs and strange-looking equipment, she fell into puzzled silence.

What's so special about all these things? she wondered. Could there be important factors she didn't understand? Maybe these insects were subjects of some top-secret Oscorp biotech project?

Yet some items looked like personal combat headgear or goggles—could they be part of a new generation of military tech Oscorp was developing? And then there were those lizards…geckos, maybe? Lizards in general?

Felicia had done some research into Oscorp before coming here, plus she had files noting a few major experiments the company was conducting—some of which had been emailed to her. She vaguely recalled a reptile project, but these specimens seemed pretty normal.

She didn't get it, and Norman didn't either, but he knew better than to ask.

"You two wait outside," Aaron instructed. Then he quickly swept the area for surveillance using his mental connection to the network, verifying that Norman had indeed ensured privacy.

Once they left, Aaron began opening up the various boxes and containers. He had everything from geckos (with night vision and regenerative abilities) and chameleons (which camouflage themselves) to green tiger beetles (considered some of the fastest insects), bats (capable of ultrasonic detection), axolotls (with remarkable regenerative properties), and the latest infrared vision devices. Each species or device had over ten units, and there were many different varieties—multiple types of lizards and chameleons, dozens of each. This was just the initial batch Oscorp had managed to gather on short notice; more would be arriving steadily in the days ahead.

Without further delay, Aaron extended his right hand. "Alright, buddy, time to get to work!"

The black hole in his palm whirled rapidly, absorbing every insect, vial, and piece of gear in a matter of seconds. One beam of energy after another merged back into his body through that dark vortex.
