max in Pokemon

It was now the mid day and Skyla packed some of items and her Pokemon.

She said goodbye to her grandfather and he wished her good luck.

She managed to catch up to max who she noticed didn't have anything on him.

She asked were is his stuff but he just said that he has it in a special place.

Of course she didn't know what he was talking about but she decided not to bother asking because she is pretty sure that he will be cryptic.

But she noticed that meloetta wasn't around but max told her that she was invisible.

Skyla: so we're are you planning to go?

Max: no clue obviously I'm not planning on staying in the forest for long.

Max pulled out his Pokédex and booted the map function that one of the nurses gave to him during his stay apparently his Pokédex was delivered a bit last minute so it doesn't have the complete functions installed.

Skyla looked over his shoulder and she saw the map.

Skyla: we can go to castelia city I haven't been there in a while there is a bridge in to Mombasa city and then we can go towards the street.

Max decided to follow her idea since he doesn't know the place.

Max: so castelia it is let's go there.

Skyla: the walk shouldn't take too long.

Max: who said that we are walking?

Skyla:huh?

Max picking Skyla on his back surprising her and he started to run towards the trees doing his usual thing with meloetta now visible flew along.

Skyla could feel the wind in her hair she wasn't expecting max to jump around the forest like it was nothing and not just that he was fast too.

A few minutes of jumping around and max stopped because he felt the presence of someone who was weak but in terms of damaged weak.

He headed towards the location and when he got there he saw that it was coming form the cave that meloetta and him used for shelter.

Skyla: why did you came here?

Max: I can feel a presence of someone here and they might be injured.

Skyla: how many abilities do you have?

He ignored the the question and he went to cave with meloetta and Skyla following him.

They saw that there small traces of blood and it led to a Pokemon that looked like a dog.

Skyla recognized the little guy.

Skyla: that's a riolu and it looks injured.

Max got down on one knee and examined the little guy.

It was having trouble breathing and he saw some stab wounds that had purple spots and was leaking blood.

He concluded that the poor riolu was poisoned.

Max: looks like he's poisoned. Skyla do know anything that can help him?

Skyla: no I'm not exactly good in the poison thing but there a berry the can heal poison but I don't think it won't completely heal him has way to many stab wounds.

Max: well it's better than nothing what does the berry look like?

Skyla: it's looks like a heart.

Max: a heart? Looks like we are lucky there a place where it here that has plenty berry's there might be there.

Skyla: okay I'll find it you take care of the riolu.

Max got to work he rounded his healing energy and he poured it into the riolu and Meloatta was watching with worry.

He knew that just healing it wouldn't work poison something that can only be fought with sciences.

Freya the doctor that took care of the wounded taught him as much she developed plenty of medicine by experimenting with poisonous lost souls to create counter medicines.

Some called her crazy but lots people know that she is one of the best doctor in the exorcist community.

Max felt the riolu's conditon was somewhat stable but he only managed to activate its body's cells to keep it alive.

Max: meloetta watch him and if his condition gets worse give me a signal I'll go and see if Skyla has found that berry.

Meloatta: alright.

Max was about to run towards were Skyla went but he saw her with her Pokemon out.

And she had two berries on her.

Skyla: I managed to find two.

Max: good come on.

They went back to the cave and found meloetta holding the riolu's head on her kness to give it a makeshift pillow.

But not only that but its eyes were actually opened but unfocused.

The riolu's vision was blurry and he felt pretty weak he saw someone more like a human giving him a pecha berry.

He reluctantly grabbed it with some struggle and ate it his condition got better but he still couldn't move his body.

Max saw that the poison was disappearing from the riolu's system but the after effects are still in display because he still couldn't move.

Meloatta: I he gonna he going to be okay?

Max: well it looks like the poison was vanishing from its body but it looks he won't be able to move and he also looks like he is gonna be in a minor coma.

Skyla: we will have to get him to a Pokemon center when we get to the bridge.

Max: I'll carry him.

He made a black tendril and wrapped it around the riolu but he made sure to carry him gently.

Skyla was not used to seeing those black things so all she could do was gawk.

He got the riolu settled in a mini coccon.

Max: let's go I want to make sure he's okay.

Skyla: okay.

She got on his back and they got on there way to the bridge.

They managed to get there and max had to discarded the black cocoon to carry the riolu himself.

Luckily the Pokemon center seems to be in areas where trainer might be so they were lucky that there was a small Pokemon center that took care of riolu and they will let him know if he has recovered via his dex.

They went to the bridge and it was bigger that he thought when they got to the other side nimbasa was more of a theme park looking city and this reminded max of fairs that they would do in parking lots.

This brought back memories of him when he was a kid with his adopted mother and sisters mikado was Japanese and when she died she looked like a kitsune but she was actually a fox.

Some pure souls that have more human features they have the ability to disguise themselves as human and mikado was among them and she sells charms as a way to make money and to protect people from lost souls.

Mikado has the ability to create charms that give her or other people abilities she was the one who made Mona's necklace and she was the one who taught max about spiritual energy control.

Max promise to himself that if anyone dares to hurt or shatter his family he will go on a rampage because his biological parents are scum and mikado was the only person he will accept as his mother and he wants to be strong so that he could protect them.

Skyla: max!!

He was snapped out of his thoughts when Skyla's voice registered in his head and he realized that he completely zoned out.

Max: sorry I was out of it. what happened?

Skyla: I've been talking to you. You didn't hear anything I said?

Max: no.

Skyla: well to refresh your memory I was talking about how there is going to be a minor tournament by the battle club and it's gonna happen in a few days.

Max looked at the area he guessed that he was getting dragged while he was zoned out and all he had was an uninterested look and Skyla noticed.

Skyla: what's with that look?

Max: I'm not interested in this.

Skyla: huh why not!? The place is gonna have some real cool battles and I want to see how trainers and there Pokemon work together.

Max: you call it working together I call it you taking credit for someone's work.

Skyla was stunned hearing that she of course didn't get it at first but she realized what he means.

Skyla: are you saying that trainers get credit for a Pokémon's efforts?

Max: that's exactly what I'm saying.

Skyla: that's not what Pokemon battles are about you're Pokemon are your partners and you train them to-

Max: to fight and for what? Entertaining a crowd? The difference between you and me I fight my own fight I and unlike you I don't rely on creatures all the time.

Skyla was now getting irritated by max's view she understood where he was coming from but she doesn't like him telling her that all of her achievements were hers because she took credit from her Pokemon.

Skyla: I trained her to get my partners strong and I became a gym leader what gives you the right to tell me that all of my goals aren't weren't earned?

Max: did you risk death?

Skyla: huh?

Max: what gives me the right is that I risked death to be strong and not just that I became strong with my own strength when people say that you are strong there actually talking about your Pokemon not you as a person if you didn't have your Pokemon with you.

Max gave her a look that had the eyes of someone who has seen the dark side of the world and that gave her a massive amount fright.

Max: you would be nothing but a girl who has no mean of defending herself.

There was a silence and max walked away from her leaving her alone to think about he said and she didn't want to admit it but max was right about her being weak and her Pokemon did most of the work in her achievements.

She then realized that she had the wrong impression him he wasn't someone who was just moody he was the kind of person who saw horrible things.

She remembered some moments when she was still a trainer and times were she almost died but she always relyed on her Pokemon to save her. not herself.

Meloatta saw the whole thing and she didn't like how max went off on her she found him and they sat under trees.

Meloatta: you didn't have to go off on her like that.

Max: look I'm sorry but I just really hate these Pokemon fights and claiming that they're are strong is just ridiculous to me and hypocritical.

Meloatta: how come?

Max looked at her with a blank face.

Max: really what makes them hypocrites is that they want the best for Pokemon but yet they used them for fights and claiming credit that they themselves didn't get if anything the Pokemon should get the credit not the trainer because they were the ones who sweated in those fights while there trainers just gives them instructions on what to do I that's why I don't like these Pokemon battles because this is just hypothetical and unnecessary.

Meloatta listen to his rant and she honestly understands if you look at Pokemon battles in a different way at the Pokemon goes through a lot effort to win and the trainer doesn't actually do anything other than just cheer.

But unlike humans max comes from a completely different world were he had to get strong to fight against monsters and comparing that with Pokemon trainers his efforts were more impressive.

When he finished his rant he sat down and calmed down but now he had to apologize for being an asshole.

Max: come on let's go and look for Skyla i still remember her soul signature.

The duo left but they someone listened to max's rants about how Pokemon battles are pointless.

And this individual was curious about him but right now he has other things to do.

It was dusk and Max searched around and he managed to find Skyla watching a heard of swannas and duckletts.

And he could tell that she wasn't doing well emotionally.

He sat by her and she didn't seem to notice him or was too deep in her thoughts.

He tapped her shoulder to get a response and she responded by just looking at him and look back at the ducks.

They sat in silence and max decided to just go for it.

Max: look I'm sorry I somewhat snapped it's just that to me when I comes to claiming strength you prove yourself through your own actions and power not by relying on someone's strength and claim it as your own I told you that this situation with meloetta isn't a kid's game we could die and they aren't going to play fair and if your Pokemon are out of commotion you will nothing but a sitting-

He stopped when he saw the duckletts looking at him with interest and he didn't know whether to continue what he was saying but he didn't know if that was going to be offensive to them so he decided to keep his mouth shut not taking chances of being chased by an angry hoard of ducks.

Skyla listened to him and she really thought about what she was getting herself into and max was giving her a reality check and a part of her wants to go back and pretend this never happened but she didn't want to go back.

Skyla: what happened to you?

Max: huh?

Skyla: I saw that you have the eyes of someone who had see a lot of stuff it was pretty terrifying. So what exactly happened?

Max was contemplating to brush it off and make some excuse but he had to make up for snapping at her so sharing his story won't be hurt.

Max: in my life when I was a kid I was alone in the streets doing what I can to survive but I met someone who took me in a street kid who was super dirty there were two girls and they became my sisters.

He looked up at the sun remembering when mikado took him in.

Max: she taught me how to defend myself and I wanted to be stronger to protect my family and so I became what you see in front of you.

Skyla: those black things how do you do that did your mother teach you that?

Max: oh that? Nah it's my own ability.

Skyla: how do you do that?

Max: sorry I'm not talking anymore about that.

Skyla and max shared a silence and Skyla decided to talk this time.

Skyla: if you are really serious on me actually getting my own strength then can you teach me?

Max chuckled at those words.

Max: remember that you and Meloatta made me agree to that. But now I guess that you will actually take it seriously?

Skyla: so when are we starting?

Max: well for one a more secluded place we will have to find a place full of trees.

Skyla: you don't want the police on you?

Max: of course not.

Skyla chuckled a little and she rested her head on his shoulder and she looked at him with gratitude.

Skyla: you aren't such a bad guy after all max.

Max: I'm not a bad person I just have different views on things and I was harsh on you because I wanted you to not get involved in this mess but I guess it's too late for that.

Skyla: yup your stuck with me and Meloatta. Actually were is she?

Max jerked his thumb at a tree behind them we're Meloatta was watching them.

Skyla didn't see anything but she guessed that she was invisible.

Max got up and dusted his clothes off.

Max: come on let's go find a place to stay.

She agreed and they group went to check for a place to stay while they were her.

Meanwhile back at the Pokemon center near the bridge riolu was recovering and later in the future he will become a powerful ally.
