chapter 9
Chapter 9: The Little Animals in the Sutra Library
When she heard the words “slaughtering immortals and exterminating gods” from her master’s mouth, what was Youlan’s feeling?
Fear, immense fear.
If someone else had said this, it would have sounded ridiculous and absurd.
But the moment He Youzhou said it, she had an illusion—that her master had done such things.
She swallowed, her heart filled with countless confusions that she couldn’t express.
Besides the terror, there was also a sense of inexplicable absurdity.
“Disciple understands!” Youlan dared not express her thoughts and bowed.
“Do you find such things absurd?” He Youzhou seemed to see through Youlan’s thoughts and spoke.
“Disciple does not dare.” Youlan, who had just relaxed a bit in front of He Youzhou, tensed up again in shock.
“One day you will understand.” He Youzhou said faintly.
He Youzhou felt that Youlan was too nervous. Since she was once the top courtesan, she should have seen all kinds of big figures.
However, this couldn’t be blamed on Youlan. After long-term escape and the torment of bloodthirsty pain, she had lost her past composure in dealing with people.
Now she was like a frightened bird, becoming extremely terrified at the slightest stimulus.
“Stupid woman, this place is very safe, don’t act like a rabbit.” Chisato said indifferently, walking forward and lifting Yulan’s chin with her slender fingers.
Yulan’s face turned crimson. She was used to teasing men and being teased by men, but she had never been teased by a woman.
Chisato bit Yulan’s ear and said in a cold voice, “Since you are a member of the Tianyan Sect, I will protect you.”
“Thank you, Senior Sister.” Yulan clamped her thighs together and subconsciously swallowed, not knowing why her body felt numb.
Chisato looked at Yulan expressionlessly, without any intention of responding.
Yulan let out a long sigh, allowing her tense nerves to relax a bit.
That’s right, since she had joined the Tianyan Sect, at least she didn’t have to worry about being hunted down.
“Now you are officially a disciple of the Tianyan Sect.” He Youzhou said, folding his sleeves.
After understanding the significance of the Tianyan Sect, Yulan became his true direct disciple.
“It’s time to choose a cultivation method for you. Come, follow me to the Sutra Library.” He leisurely walked out of the main hall.
When Yulan heard where they were going, she was stunned for a while, “Sutra Library?”
Wasn’t the Sutra Library of the Tianyan Sect an empty building? It only had bookshelves, but not a single book.
Moreover, He Youzhou himself had said that the books in the Sutra Library had been looted.
“What are you still standing there for?” He Youzhou glanced at Yulan.
“Disciple is coming.” Yulan quickly got up and followed.
As she followed He Youzhou, she noticed that Chisato was not accompanying He Youzhou as usual, “Senior Sister, what about you?”
“I can’t go with you when imparting the cultivation method.” Chisato also wanted to be by her master’s side all the time.
Unfortunately, the master had said that when imparting the cultivation method to each disciple, only the disciple and the master could go to the Sutra Library.
Although He Youzhou had said this when she was a few years old, she still remembered it clearly.
After hearing Chisato’s explanation, Yulan slightly bowed and then followed He Youzhou away.
Now, only Chisato was left alone in the main hall.
She thought for a while and finally sat on the meditation cushion where He Youzhou had just meditated, quietly meditating and cultivating.
In fact, there were many meditation cushions in this place, but she just wanted to sit here.
Yulan felt a bit awkward because her clothes didn’t fit well.
They were too tight, and any slight movement would cause a subtle sensation.
However, He Youzhou didn’t notice this and directly led Yulan to the Sutra Library for the second time.
The Sutra Library had the unique smell of a study room, but unfortunately, there were no books left.
These smells were remnants of the piles of books that had once been there. If things continued like this for another decade or so, the smell of books would probably fade away completely.
The bookshelves in the Sutra Library were divided into many layers, each as tall as a floor.
Once, every compartment of these bookshelves was filled with books, but now, except for a bit of dust, they are empty.
Youlan raised her head and looked around. This scripture library was no different from the first time she came here today.
Empty, desolate, like an abandoned world.
“Uncles, I have brought a new disciple from the Tianyan Sect and wish to choose a suitable technique for her,” He Youzhou bowed deeply to the empty space in front of him.
“Youzhou has brought a new disciple.”
“Yes, yes, and she’s a pretty girl.”
“Impressive, you’ve already taken in a second disciple so quickly.”
“But she doesn’t seem very reliable.”
“Ah, what if she’s a traitor like Daoyuan?”
“No worries, it’s Youzhou who will die, not us who are already dead.”
The whispers echoed in the scripture library, but Youlan couldn’t see a single figure.
She couldn’t help but hug herself, feeling a bit chilly.
“Youzhou, your disciple has bloodthirsty syndrome,” a black cat squatted on a bookshelf and said to He Youzhou, “Did she do something heinous?”
“No, it was transferred to her by someone else,” He Youzhou shook his head and explained on Youlan’s behalf.
“Really? What a poor girl,” another tabby cat squatted on another bookshelf and spoke.
“So what technique should we give her?” a long-haired dog lying on the table asked.
Youlan looked at these suddenly appearing animals and forced a smile to avoid appearing too frightened.
“We old men who are already dead don’t have many techniques to teach, do we?” the black cat yawned.
The tabby cat licked its fur out of boredom, “Most of the techniques were taken by that traitor Daoyuan.”
“For bloodthirsty syndrome, the most suitable technique now is the Heart Demon Technique, right?” the long-haired dog said, “We don’t have something like the Blood Transformation Divine Skill in the Tianyan Sect.”
“Heart Demon Technique? Isn’t that a bit sinister?” the black cat said in surprise.
“Aren’t we a demonic sect? What’s wrong with being a bit sinister? As long as it doesn’t harm the heavens or the earth,” the tabby cat said casually, “The big dog’s suggestion is quite good.”
“Then it’s decided, the Heart Demon Technique,” the three animals said in unison.
The next second, Youlan felt a wave of dizziness, as if something was forcibly flowing into her mind.
Black characters were deeply engraved in her memory, making it impossible for her to forget.
Although she felt dizzy, she didn’t feel uncomfortable.
On the contrary, she felt a strange sense of liberation, causing her to instinctively moan.
Knowing her voice was a bit abrupt, Youlan’s face flushed.
But she had experienced far more embarrassing things than this, so she quickly calmed down.
“Embrace the demonic nature, use the heart demon for your own use.” A simple sentence flashed through her mind.
Do not resist the thirst for blood, but learn to control it.
Everyone has inner demons. Some try to conquer them, while others accept them.
“Thank you, uncles.” Realizing what had happened, Youlan bowed gracefully.
The technique was already engraved in her heart.
