Chapter 26: Treasure Girl – Qi Meng Die
Seeing Qi Ming’s reaction, Chu Xiu knew he had successfully drained his nephew dry. A flicker of disappointment crossed his face.
‘Is that all?’
“Aunt…” Qi Ming, frustrated and humiliated, turned to his only remaining source of support. “Chu Xiu… he tricked me! Aren’t you going to do anything about it?”
‘Do something? And how exactly am I supposed to do that?’ Qi Meng Die thought, a sigh escaping her lips.
“You’ve got what you wanted. Now go,” she said, dismissing him with a wave of her hand.
“But…”
Qi Ming wanted to protest, but he dared not disobey his aunt. He glared at Chu Xiu, his eyes burning with resentment, and stormed out of the hall.
…
“Rebellious disciple,” Qi Meng Die said, her voice cold, her brow furrowed as she turned to Chu Xiu, “why did you swindle him like that?” She adopted a commanding tone, attempting to assert her authority.
“Swindle?” Chu Xiu asked, feigning surprise as he gathered the remaining Emperor’s Silver Sand. “It was a perfectly legitimate transaction. He got what he wanted, didn’t he?”
“And… what did you just call me?”
“Rebellious disciple!”
“Tsk, tsk… such disrespect. Call me ‘Good Big Brother’…”
“In your dreams!”
Chu Xiu approached the lotus throne, a smile playing on his lips. His gaze swept over her figure, lingering on her curves.
“My, my, Master… you seem to have… filled out… a bit since the last time we… enhanced my aptitude. Could it be… you’ve gained weight?”
“Get out!” Qi Meng Die snapped, grabbing a spirit fruit from the table and throwing it at him.
He caught it effortlessly, took a bite, and crunched it between his teeth.
‘Crispy, sweet, and sour… not bad…’
“Come here, Master. Let me… examine… you properly…”
“I have not gained weight! Get out!”
“Oh, right.” Chu Xiu’s eyes lit up, a mischievous glint in their depths. “Master, did you finish making those… items… I requested?”
“They’re in my bedchamber. Move aside!”
Chu Xiu removed his hand from her shoulder, and Qi Meng Die rose from her throne, smoothing her robes as she walked towards the inner chambers.
“Such… craftsmanship…” she muttered, her lips curling into a disdainful smirk. “Such crude mortal trinkets… not a single formation or inscription.”
Despite her dismissive words, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of pride as she saw the surprise in Chu Xiu’s eyes.
“But…” Her brow furrowed. “Why did you ask me to make these, rebellious disciple? They’re completely useless.”
Chu Xiu’s smile widened, his eyes gleaming with an unnerving intensity.
Qi Meng Die, watching him, felt a shiver run down her spine.
“What… what are you planning to do with them?”
Chu Xiu blinked innocently, ignoring her question.
“Master, you truly are a treasure trove of surprises.”
“What?!” Qi Meng Die’s face instantly turned cold. “Are you saying I’m old?!”
“No, no, Master! Not at all! A Great Saint can live for six thousand years! You’re still in the prime of your life!”
Her expression softened slightly.
Chu Xiu, rubbing his hands together, retrieved a bundle of black, silken threads from his storage pouch.
“This…” Qi Meng Die’s eyes widened in recognition. “That’s… Abyssal Spider Silk! A Mystic-grade material!”
“It’s usually used for weaving cloth. It’s incredibly soft and durable, with some protective properties. Your robes, Master… they’re made from Abyssal Spider Silk, aren’t they?”
“Indeed,” Qi Meng Die confirmed. “But what are you planning to do with it?”
“Master… you’re so insightful,” Chu Xiu said with a sly smile. “Today, I’m going to teach you how to weave something… fun.”
“I don’t want to learn! I refuse!” she retorted, her eyes narrowed with suspicion.
“And what about your cultivation seal, Master?” Chu Xiu asked, tilting his head, his smile widening. “Do you want to remain… restricted… indefinitely?”
His thinly veiled threat hung in the air, leaving Qi Meng Die with little choice.
