Chapter 8: Ch 8: Devils Child
On a tall building, the breeze blew gently, making the little maid's hair dance.
The new maid, Elsa, paid no attention to this. Instead, she leaned against the pillar, staring absentmindedly at her new master below.
The figure she observed was young but carried an air of maturity, with a composed and worldly demeanor.
He had a very good temperament and did not look like an ordinary person at all,he looked more like a big shot from the nobility.
Is this my new master?
I wonder how long I'll stay with this one…
Elsa had lost count of the masters she'd served and left behind. Her thoughts drifted as her fingers absentmindedly stroked her messy hair.
"What are you thinking about?"
The gentle voice startled her. Elsa raised her head to see her master standing beside her, gazing at her with a warm smile.
The distance between them was startlingly close.
Almost reflexively, Elsa stepped back, raising her hands protectively over her head before she realized her mistake. She quickly bowed and apologized.
"I'm sorry, my master."
Rock didn't seem offended. Instead, an amused and curious smile appeared on his lips.
People have a natural sense of personal space. When someone intrudes upon it, retreating or dodging is normal. However, Elsa's reaction was unusual, her first instinct was to protect her head rather than her body.
In other words, in some cases, covering her head is more important to her than protecting herself.Coupled with the abnormal fighting ability of her, at this moment, Rock's interest was completely aroused.
Rock walked forward, and stretched out his hand to touch Elsa's hair.
The maid's body trembled all over, and almost subconsciously she wanted to dodge to avoid Rock's hand.
"Don't move."
But,a slightly stern voice made her stiffen and tremble slightly, waiting for the "evil" hand to fall.
Rock gently lifted her messy hair, revealing the secret hidden beneath it.
A pair of striking, ruby-red eyes, glimmering like precious jewels with a strange, enchanting allure.
Elsa froze. Her heart sank.
She was going to be rejected again.
After all, a devil's child like her would never be accepted.
In ancient Arabian traditions, red eyes were considered cursed, a mark of demonic blood. Many believed the soul resided in the blood, making anything tainted by it taboo.
It is precisely because of this that the maid Elsa has been abandoned countless times. In fact, more than half of the masters even wanted to kill her because of fear.
This master must be the same. She just hope that this master just dislikes her. In that case, she will thank the God in her heart, even though the God has never protected her.
Her trembling slowed as she waited for the judgment to come with some numbness.
At this time, Rock's voice representing judgment fell.
"Very beautiful~"
Elsa's heart trembled. As expected, she was going to be disliked again…
One second, two seconds.
Wait, wait!
It seemed that she heard something strange!
Elsa suddenly raised her head and looked at her new owner blankly.
At this time, Rock gently lifted another piece of Elsa's hair, revealing a pair of crystal clear ruby eyes.
"Really beautiful, like a pair of rubies, I have never seen such beautiful eyes"
"You… you…" Elsa stammered, her voice trembling. "Aren't you afraid of these devilish eyes?"
"Afraid? Why?" Rock said calmly. "All I see is purity and brilliance. The notion of them being 'devilish' is utterly ridiculous."
Elsa stared at her master, the words sinking in. Her vision blurred as she lowered her head and quickly wiped the tears from the corners of her eyes.
"Thank you for your compliment, my master." She lowered her waist much lower than before, and her tone was more sincere and respectful than before.
A smile flashed across Rock's lips.
He had not studied the history of ancient Arabia,so he was not very clear about the so-called taboo of red, but looking at the little girl who considered covering her hair more important than her own safety and had a pair of red eyes that most people did not have,it was clear that these ruby eyes held great significance to her and that is not in a very positive way.
Rock turned around, for him it was not difficult to win Elsa's heart. But,now something else was of more importance.
Leaning against a pillar, Rock looked down at the scene below, playing with a square, small box-like thing in his hand, tossing it casually.
Suddenly, a small hand gently tugged at Rock's sleeve.
Rock turned around and glanced. It was Elsa who was gently pulling him
"What's wrong?"
The maid Elsa pursed her lips and glanced at the square, small box in Rock's hand.
"Master, please let me help you."
Rock narrowed his eyes slightly and glanced up and down at her.
"Help me? How can you help me?"
Elsa hesitated again before whispering, "That box… it's dangerous. The master intends to do something with it, doesn't he?"
Rock's eyes suddenly shrank, and he looked directly at her. After a moment, he said,"Did you sense that?"
Elsa hesitated for a while before nodding.
Rock looked at Elsa deeply for a while, smiled, and gently rubbed her hair.
"You are truly the most precious treasure in this world."
What is this? Extraordinary perception? Sixth sense?
Initially,Rock had dismissed Elsa's ruby eyes as a mere mutation. But now, it seemed this little maid might possess an extraordinary bloodline.
Feeling Rock's heartfelt admiration and his undisguised love,Elsa's face turned red. But her hand was still on Rock's hand, with a firm attitude. She wanted to take the small box. If it was something dangerous, she would do it.
Rock waved her hand away gently. "No. This isn't dangerous. It's a good thing."
Elsa showed obvious doubts. She clearly felt it was very dangerous? Was she wrong?
Rock did not answer the her doubts. Instead, he looked into the distance with a smile.
"Legend says that a paradise lies in the west. And this little treasure can send someone there."
Time bomb, codenamed Stupid Boy, abandons other fancy functions and retains only the purest power. The explosion effect is said to be several times that of C4 of the same size. It can send people to the west. It is a specialty of Hell's Kitchen, and the price of a single one is $9,800!
