MARVEL:ABSOLUTE EVOLUTION (AU)

Chapter 10: Oscorp, be Spider-Man or Not

[Early in the morning, 5:30 AM]

I'm running through the city blocks, following Saitama's training plan—the guy who can defeat any enemy with a single punch. It's a simple routine: 100 push-ups, sit-ups, squats, and a 10 km run. It's not too challenging with my superhuman strength, but it still drains my stamina.

Right now, I'm drenched in sweat under my hoodie. Damn, this New York's streets are always so busy.

"Huff... huff..." I heaved as I burst through the door of my house and headed straight for the bathroom.

After a shower, I slipped on only my underwear and wandered into the kitchen. I glanced at the clock—7 AM already.

Just as I started making breakfast, I heard light footsteps behind me, and when I turned around, I found May shuffling into the room in her pyjamas and a messy t-shirt, her eyes still half-closed.

*Sniff*... "Peter?" She looked surprised as she saw me cooking.

"What the...?" May exclaimed, her sleepiness quickly fading,

"Why are you cooking in just your underwear?"May asked as she blushed seeing my naked abdomen.

"Damn..." she muttered under her breath.

"Ehem..." I coughed, shifting a bit uncomfortably.

My past habit of staying in minimal clothes seemed hard to break—living alone for so long will do that to you. But who cares as I caught May sneaking glances at my abs.

"May, you don't need to sneak; you can stare all you want!" I smirked as I saw her blush deepen.

"Ekk... no, it's just..." she stammered, her eyes avoiding mine.

She took a deep breath and stepped closer, tracing her hands over my chest, abs, and biceps.

"Your body has changed so much; you've become muscular in a week" she mumbled, her eyes locked on my muscles.

"Well, you should stop now," I teased gently, looking down at her.

"Uh, yes... but... damn, you're becoming hot! I'm sure if other girls knew what you were hiding under your baggy t-shirt..." she teased back, leaning against the kitchen counter.

"I don't know about other girls and don't care, honestly," I shrugged and handed her a cup of coffee.

She took a sip and looked at me with surprise. "Why? What happened? Didn't you want to propose to Mary Jane?"

"yep, I wanted to as she was my crush but she likes Harry now, anyway," I said, not caring much. "And I don't need anyone else when I have you!" I chuckled and winked.

"Damn, you're getting bolder every day, Peter," she said, her face turning a little red.

..

While I waited for the school bus, I thought about which insect to choose for my next merge.

Yes, I've decided to focus on my healing factor. That would make sure I don't die early in my life before becoming strong enough, and a high regeneration ability would make me almost semi-immortal like Deadpool. But... I need to find those insects first...

"Peter!" A hand touched my shoulder from behind as I turned around, finding the beautiful redhead.

"Hey, MJ! Good morning," I greeted her with a smile as I didn't hate her—everyone's got their struggles.

MJ looked up at my face, her expression surprised. "Morning, Pete! I thought you were avoiding me!" she heaved a sigh.

"And why would I avoid you?" I raised an eyebrow and asked.

"Uhmm… because I've been a bad friend?" she looked uncomfortable, ashamed.

"I'm sorry," she said, her voice full of guilt.

"I don't need your sorry or anything," I walked away, hopping onto the bus and taking an empty seat by the window.

I closed my eyes and let my mind drift, scrolling through some fragments of memories from the original Peter's life. I could see how close he was to MJ, and then how she started spending more time with the popular kids. I sighed. "School drama...".

..

….

[Unknown POV]

Gwen Stacy was looking at the door of the classroom, waiting for Peter as she recalled the last time she spent time with him, which made her happy. Gwen secretly had a crush on Peter but never told him—afraid of losing their friendship. But she enjoyed his company no matter what.

"Gwen…" Peter whispered from behind as he slid into the seat beside her, startling her.

" Ekk !.. Peter… when did you become sneaky?" she made a cute sound as she got up and turned around.

"Well, you seemed busy daydreaming!" Peter answered with a sly smile.

"Eh... well, I was thinking about you..." she whispered to herself, not realizing he could hear her.

"Really?" Peter turned to her with a smirk.

"What? You heard?" she blushed and looked away.

"Of course, I did, and yes, it's adorable!" he nodded and looked up as their first teacher entered, starting one of those boring lectures.

….

[Peter:POV]

While listening to the lectures, flirting with Gwen, and trying to ignore a troubled MJ who was doing her best to talk to me, I scribbled down names of insects with high regeneration abilities in my notebook.

After class, I walked back to homeroom with Gwen and the other students, taking a seat as our homeroom teacher entered. I recognized him as Mr. Higgins, and he spoke in a serious tone, "Alright, everyone, settle down. I have something important to announce."

"There's going to be a trip organized by the science department with the support of Oscorp in two days. It's mandatory, and we think it would be a great opportunity for all of you to see how a real company works and what they do. I hope you all gain something from it—if not, just treat it as a fun tour." He then sat down at the teacher's desk and got busy marking papers.

"Peter! We're going on a science tour!" Gwen grabbed my shoulder, her eyes wide with excitement.

"Calm down, Gwen!" I smiled helplessly as I saw her enthusiasm—it's not surprising since she's as much of a nerd as I am.

'So it's finally time for the main event of Spider-Man. But would I get bitten by that radioactive spider?' I thought as I remembered the original event from The Amazing Spider-Man movies, but this world leaned more toward the comic version of the Marvel Universe.

I need to make some changes to my plans—my next fusion is set to be completed in two days.

I'm feeling overwhelmed because I don't have much knowledge about the comics and their events—just vague bits I remember from my past life, reading online. One thing I do know is that Spider-Man is connected to the Web of Life and Destiny—a three-dimensional construct in a five-dimensional space that models the entire multiverse. Otherwise, how can being bitten by a radioactive spider give someone superpowers?

Spider-Man's Spidey sense comes from this connection, and I want it. It's powerful—it gives him an automatic sense of danger, whether it's a street-level threat or a Cosmic being.

I need to stop overthinking and take it step by step. There's an advantage if I get bitten by the spider, but there are big risks too. Even if I don't get the Spidey sense, I have a feeling that I'd still get in trouble no matter what.
