Marvel: Trading with Worlds

Chapter 266: C173(2)

Though Kushina often complained about the past, Mikoto couldn't help but smile when she remembered how, as a child, Kushina had been happy despite being squeezed into Kain's small orange purse.

"What Hokage? I'm dozens of times stronger than Anbu now, but they still restrict me to stay in the village. If it weren't for the boss, I'd—" Kushina stopped mid-sentence as she suddenly remembered that Kain's Apparition ability and the Tea Country base were secrets.

Even though Mikoto was her best friend, she couldn't reveal such things.

But Mikoto didn't seem to mind Kushina's oddness and said softly, "Once Orochimaru-sama becomes Hokage, you can go to other places with Kain-san. I hear the relationship between Orochimaru-sama and Kain-san is really good. But, Kushina, do you have any plans?"

"Of course!" Kushina replied excitedly. "I plan to go to the Land of hot water for some famous baths, then head to the Land of whirlpools to swim across the sea, and finally go to the Land of Snow to ski. Hehe!"

Kushina's enthusiasm was contagious as she shared her travel plans. Uchiha Mikoto said enviously, "That sounds amazing."

Kushina grinned and added, "Mikoto, you should ask Fugaku to take you out too. It should be easy for you to leave the village."

Mikoto shook her head. "Fugaku is busy with clan matters and the guards every day. He's recently left the village, and I doubt he'll have time for the next few years."

"Is that so? A housewife feeling bored, huh?" Kushina teased, but then she suddenly leaned in and whispered in Mikoto's ear, "Mikoto, you two... um, how long will it take?"

"That?"

Mikoto was startled when she heard the words and then saw Kushina winking at her. Kushina leaned in and whispered in her ear, speaking in detail.

Although there were only the two of them in the room, Kushina still kept her voice very low, as if trying to avoid anyone—real or imagined—from overhearing.

Mikoto heard it clearly this time, but even after having a child, she still blushed when discussing such matters.

However, seeing how eager Kushina was to know, Mikoto, after being pestered for a long time, finally relented and said in a low voice, "Usually around ten minutes."

Kushina was taken aback and asked again, "Only ten minutes?"

"It's been a long time, and everyone else is like this," Mikoto quickly defended Fugaku. She regretted it a little after speaking but reminded herself that a good wife shouldn't speak ill of her husband outside the home.

Kushina thought for a moment and then, sensing that either Mikoto or herself had to be abnormal, spoke up, "But Kain and I... we often..."

"Seven or eight times," Kushina finished with a blush.

Mikoto gasped in shock, then quickly shook her head. "Impossible. That's absolutely impossible! Kushina, are you lying to me? Even ninjas can't do that."

"It's true. It's even more tiring than going to the battlefield. Although it feels like flying into the sky, by the end..." Kushina trailed off, her face turning even redder.

After a brief moment of boldness, she immediately felt embarrassed for speaking so openly. Why had she said such a thing on a whim?

Mikoto's cheeks were flushed as well. What Kushina had said was beyond her comprehension.

Things Mikoto had never dared to think about before now seemed to be within her grasp, but even after hearing Kushina's description, she couldn't quite imagine what that feeling must be like.

The sound of the door opening broke the silence. No one else would come to this place except for Kain.

Realizing who the visitor was, Kushina and Mikoto quickly composed themselves and waited for Kain to enter the room.

When Kain walked into the living room, he saw the two of them staring at him and couldn't help but greet them, " Mikoto-san, so you're with Kushina. Please, make yourselves at home."

"Not at all, no trouble," Mikoto replied quickly.

"Yes, the two of us are good friends. How could it be a trouble?" Kushina chimed in, nodding eagerly.

The two of them were acting strangely, but Kain didn't have time to dwell on it. He turned to Kushina and said, "Kushina, the Jōnin meeting is about to start, and I have to attend. As for what to say, that depends on Tsunade or Uchiha Yatsushiro."

Before leaving, Nawaki and Uchiha Fugaku had already arranged for someone to inform them. Uchiha Yatsushiro, the vice-captain of the guard, could fully represent the Uchiha clan.

As for Tsunade, Nawaki had persuaded her to side with Orochimaru during the Hokage election, so she likely wouldn't interfere.

"Kushina, I'll be going to the Jōnin meeting. Do you understand?" Kain asked.

"I understand," Kushina replied sternly. The people from Anbu near their new home couldn't contact them directly.

Though the area was quiet, the lack of communication with the outside world was a drawback. Things would be better once telephones and computers were developed.

The Jōnin meeting was crucial, and as the Nine Tails Jinchūriki, Kushina had to attend. However, it seemed Sarutobi Hiruzen didn't want her there. Orochimaru had used a Summoning snake to relay that message to Kain.

In the past, Jōnin meetings were spontaneous, and the Jōnin would rush to the Hokage building as soon as they received word. But this time, the meeting had been scheduled in advance, which felt unusually formal.
