Chapter 26: Chapter 26: Depends on the Mood?
During this time back, Noah did not let himself relax too much.
Of course, this relaxation only happened in his sleep.
To be honest, the biggest help to Noah was his system's library. His improvement there was much faster than reading and studying in the Room of Requirement!
Probably because it directly affected his soul, Noah could learn anything here in a single step.
No matter how difficult the knowledge he encountered was, or how complicated the magical structures were, as long as Noah focused and his magical level was high enough to support the spell, he could master it quickly!
Noah's current magical level was no longer what it had been three months ago. After obtaining methods of training his mental and magical power from the system, combined with his relentless practice, he had reached a very high level.
Well, of course, this high level was only relative to the students. Noah felt that his level was still far below those legendary time travelers.
In fact, Noah never understood why some time travelers arrived in the past at "max level," instantly attracting all kinds of attention and effortlessly gaining power.
Yet, when it came to him, Noah had spent ten years of childhood without even a shadow of magic in sight.
It wasn't until he turned ten that he discovered he had a system and that he was someone with special abilities!
"This is losing at the starting line! There's absolutely no comparison!"
Noah had often complained about how ineffective his system was—it appeared late, had no lottery draws, no immediate benefits. It didn't even provide a beginner's gift pack!
This was simply the worst system Noah had ever heard of!
But, as flawed as it was, it was still better than nothing. Noah only grumbled about it occasionally but never truly dwelled on it.
He worried that if he irritated the system too much, it might get angry and abandon him. If that happened, Noah would probably cry himself blind.
The Christmas holiday lasted for almost half a month. During this time, Noah didn't travel much. Instead, he helped Ms. Haifin take care of the orphanage. In his free time, he accepted Hermione's invitations to go out and play.
Ms. Haifin was quite curious about Hermione. The girl was cute and polite. She couldn't understand how Noah, who had once been so withdrawn, had made such a friend.
Of course, Ms. Haifin was mostly happy. She didn't want Noah to remain as distant as before, acting like he didn't care about anyone. If he continued that way, she would have to worry about his future.
Evan and the others had sent letters to Noah. They all knew where he was.
The content of their letters was mostly the same. They first bragged about being praised at home, then started complaining about how long the holiday was. They all regretted going home.
Seeing these letters, Noah found it amusing. It was the first time he had ever seen students complaining that the holidays were too long.
Their main complaint was that they couldn't go to the Room of Requirement to study and improve their magic skills during the break.
Noah laughed at this very unkindly. Although he couldn't enter the Room of Requirement for half a month, he never stopped practicing!
Training in the system's space was far more effective than the Room of Requirement. It was practically like advancing with a cheat code!
---
Name: Noah Finier
Age: 11 years old
Wizard Level: Order: 0, Rank: 8
Yes, Noah had already reached Rank 8!
At this rate, it wouldn't be long before he became a First-Order Wizard!
Only upon reaching the First Order could one be considered a true wizard.
Hogwarts' education wasn't bad, but wizard progression wasn't that simple. Noah had long estimated that most graduates would only be around Second or Third Order at best!
Noah's rapid progress depended largely on the system's assistance, but of course, his hard work played a crucial role too.
No matter how good external conditions were, if one didn't put in the effort, the result would still be zero—wasted potential.
---
"It seems my progress is going well. My original goal was to reach First Order by the end of the semester. But at this rate, I won't need to wait that long—if everything goes smoothly."
While packing his luggage, Noah thought about how the holiday had come to an end. Naturally, he was preparing to return to school.
He didn't want to be late and cause unnecessary trouble.
After the holidays, there were still many things to do—learning new spells, continuing Dumbledore's task of gathering people, and, of course, preparing for the end-of-year exams!
Though the final exams weren't difficult for him, Noah still believed in taking them seriously.
As for Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone?
Noah didn't care about it at all—unless trouble found him, in which case, he might consider helping.
If not?
Then Noah certainly wasn't in the mood to get involved in all that nonsense.
Honestly, Professor Quirrell, possessed by Voldemort, wasn't anything to be afraid of. Besides, Dumbledore was secretly watching everything, so what could possibly go wrong?
"The diadem in the Room of Requirement is worth noting, but studying it now would be a death wish. Forget it—I'll just leave it there. When the time is right, I'll hand it over to Dumbledore. That way, at least I'll have done something helpful."
Noah muttered to himself. He really wasn't prepared to mess with Voldemort just yet.
He once asked the system if it could display the levels of other wizards. The system's response?
"Ask again when you reach Fifth Order."
Right now, the system only provided information "depending on its mood."
"Depending on its mood" was a very clever phrase, and Fifth Order was a level Noah couldn't even imagine reaching yet!
So for now, he could only rely on this unreliable system to gauge his enemies. Fortunately, it still provided relevant information about important figures.
For example:
Albus Dumbledore – Order 5, Rank 9
Voldemort – Order 5, Rank 8
Professor Snape, Professor McGonagall, and Professor Flitwick – Order 5, Ranks 2-4
Harry Potter – Order 0, Rank 2
Hermione Granger – Order 0, Rank 3
Ron Weasley – Order 0, Rank 1
As for the three boys in his dormitory?
The system didn't even bother listing their ranks.
This left Noah feeling a bit helpless.
Still, even if those three weren't particularly gifted, they couldn't be worse than Hermione, right?
