Chapter 43: Chapter Forty-three.
~~~Phastos, January 1943~~~
~~~Xandar, Arcane Center~~~
"Phastos, the blacksmiths have already made the first communications tower, as you have requested, the frame is already made, at this moment they are erecting the structure in the center of the city, you would be expected to make it work yourself so we can communicate with the other cities quickly," Emilia, an assistant that I had been offered to do all the work I would have to do, explained to me the moment she entered my laboratory.
Xandar was a strange place, it had access to powers that even with technology, would be very difficult to obtain, starting with the Redstone, after a thorough investigation, I managed to conclude that it was a dust composed of particles charged with cosmic energy in its most primitive and volatile form.
This dust, charged with the same energy with which the celestials created and destroyed planets, was compressed into dust of microscopic size, and which the Xandarians had access to and could safely use to provide infinite energy to their realm.
Still, they had not used the full potential of the Redstone, which is used well, could be instrumental in being used as a light reaction engine method, capable of moving planet-sized ships at the speed of light. That would revolutionize how one travels in space. The distances between galaxies and even the investigation of quantum and higher space, the place from which the celestials came.
Another thing that surprised me was the method they used to connect their city-states in a matter of seconds. It was train travel in seconds from one city to another, with the help of portals, using what they called the Nether, a higher dimension much like the one ruled by Mephisto and Lucifer.
The Nether, being a dimension with its own space-time rules, allowed that in Xandar, a portal to the Nether was created, and being in the Nether, another portal to Tavalar was created, being able to pass from one side to the other in just seconds, promoting a safe passage to the dimension, to then enter the portal that connected the Nether with Tavalar and thus be in a city more than three thousand kilometers away in just five seconds.
It was genius.
"Thank you, Emilia, tell them I'll be there in two hours to connect the important stuff, and have them install the tower and games see you there," I said, while I had many things to start building and inventing, whether it was machinery that would adapt to the outside world, such as cars, airplanes, important household objects to improve the simplicity of daily activities, as well as cooperation with the Arcane Center to develop more specialized medication for different ailments, using the potions.
But for the moment, the most important thing was to improve communication in Xandar, the method using the parrots or Wyvern riders, while effective, the time used in transmitting the message was a lot, and in a constantly advancing realm, good inner communication was necessary.
For this, he would use low-caliber electromagnetic radiation emissions, which enhanced with a satellite in the atmosphere, would make the national intercommunication the most advanced in the world in terms of speed and security. Since with security systems based on those of the Dome, hacking communications would be a very difficult task, unless someone had celestial technology or the like.
That would be the start, but it would be the most important thing to turn Xandar into something that could stand up to the Celestials, and hopefully bring my Eternal brethren the peace they so longed for.
~~~Azrael Jaesyrian~~~
Having arrived from Panama only three hours ago, I immersed myself in construction plans, materials, and complex civilian issues to create the place that would be the Sanctuary of Xandar, the idea of Wizards in the Xandarian army made me bristle, in a world and universe where the complexities and dangers of demon invasions, spectral beings or beings that with mere thoughts could wipe out planets, being safe by proper contingency plans was necessary.
Kamar Taj had taken care of that for millennia, so there was no problem in leaving that issue to Ancestral, and the issue of sorcerers on Xandar was attractive enough not to see that reality realized.
As for the Sanctuary, he might as well use a part of Ischyros for it, the castle was large enough to adopt a Sanctuary the size of six soccer fields, or use a part of the Arcane Center, but since the Sanctuary would be connected to the other three Sanctuaries in the world, it meant he would be immersed in contact with foreign people who practiced the mystic arts.
The idea of having those people near such important places for Xandar was not pleasant, and I could already see the discussions or problems that there would be between the wizards from other parts of the world with the Xandarians at the time that these first ones would enter these locations of difficult access for any public.
This led me to look for a suitable and safe location, but at the same time private to create the Sanctuary, in the sector of Xandar, which was within the walls, although there was plenty of space for the construction, I still did not like it. The Sanctuary would be something that would last for many years, it would be the first thing that many would see and feel when entering Xandar through the other Sanctuaries, and it had to be grandiose.
It was there where I saw the giant monolith of the waterfall, it was a mountain of red stone over a kilometer high, and with an area of perhaps fifteen square kilometers, I do not know what I was thinking when I built that when I created Xandar, but in my head, the idea of a waterfall a kilometer high was a good sight.
And when I saw the monolith, I knew that its top would be the perfect place for the Sanctuary. First, I made a good surface for the construction, the monolith, while it had originally been red, was now bathed in moss, vines, and abundant vegetation due to water access, so giving it plant life would not be on my agenda.
The Sanctuary would be based in the form of a castle, and without further ado, I started the construction, for the foundations I used Bedrock, looking for the indestructibility of this to be able to make a suitable platform for the construction, as well as create the necessary supports that would keep the castle to the surface of the monolith.
Once this was done, came the castle, which I started to make wider at its base, and then I began to place thinner at the top, finishing the structure with a tower at the top that could be the tallest structure of Xandar so far.
I made the castle with a fortress in mind, but without taking away its nice and majestic side, creating restrooms, libraries, lounges, restrooms, kitchens, weapons rooms, and battlements, as well as creating two outdoor training grounds, one on each side of the castle, the castle was meant to amaze, not so much because of its construction site, but because most of the castle's plating was made of gold and jewels, which would make the castle 'glow' in Xandar's sparse sunlight.
Once I finished my masterpiece, I couldn't help but smile, knowing I hadn't lost my touch, I still had builder's wood, Bran the Builder was a child compared to me.
Finally, I built a cavity within the monolith itself to equip the elevators needed to go up to the castle. While wizards could create portals, those not yet initiated in the art would have trouble gaining access were it not for the elevators used.
When I went down to the ground again, more than thirteen hours had already passed, recreating the number of details needed in the castle had been the most exhausting, but luckily everything was already arranged, in the place a group of men and women, blacksmiths, witches and servants were already waiting for me, the witches would be in charge of using books of enchantments and enchant the castle, whether in protection, durability and other necessary aspects, the blacksmiths are those who would create the elevators, and the servants were to furnish the place with the required accessories.
It was here that I sensed four unknown signatures, I had been busy with the construction of the shrine, so I had not been alert, but now I felt it, four humanoid forms some distance away, their signatures glowing with unknown power.
"They have been standing idle for half an hour, my king, they have not acted so far, but we know they are invaders, what do you want us to do?" a witch approached me and gave me clarity on the matter, and without a second thought, I gave the green light to hunt down those... People, whoever they are, they had entered Xandar without permission.
