Marvel: Starting from Constructor Luke

Chapter 8: Kurtulo (Part 1)

The dark clouds hung low in the sky, carrying the ominous signs of a storm approaching.

The loud alarm sounded sharply along the coastline, echoing into the distance. Many people living and vacationing near the coastline had received alerts on their smart devices. Those who didn't see the notifications quickly understood what was coming upon hearing the harsh sirens. For the past ten years, countries had implemented certain preventive measures against the attacks of the Kaiju, although these measures had a delayed and uncertain effect in the face of sudden attacks.

People in the alarm zones immediately began fleeing, some rushing towards their vehicles, while others, without transportation, were desperately running towards the designated shelters under the loudspeakers of the official coast patrol teams. The distant sea churned with waves as if some colossal creature below the surface was about to rise. In the next moment, amid the cries of terror, a massive, grotesque, and slender creature, resembling a gorilla, rose from the sea, creating a massive splash. Its huge head emerged from the ocean, and its heavy, mountain-like body split the waves, causing the ground to tremble with each step as it rapidly approached the coastline.

As the beast appeared, seawater splashed in all directions, as if it were raining. The dark clouds in the sky lowered even further, and from a distance, it seemed as though the creature's height might soon touch the black clouds above.

True to its style, this Kaiju first violently destroyed nearby buildings, demonstrating its destructive power, while also providing some business to the construction companies specializing in post-disaster rebuilding in the new era. Even though the military stationed nearby arrived at top speed, facing the Kaiju that had already landed, they could only try to divert its attention by attacking with weapons while also organizing the evacuation of the panicked civilians, clearing the battlefield. However, this particular Kaiju, dubbed Hou Da, a Level 4 Kaiju according to the PPDC, had extremely strong defenses. Even after using specialized weapons designed for Kaiju, the military only succeeded in making it roar in pain twice, which only made it more enraged and violent.

Vroom, vroom!

The loud roar of engines approached rapidly, blending with the Kaiju's roar. Beneath the dark clouds, sixteen heavy transport helicopters appeared, each carrying a huge metal giant with a roaring engine soundtrack. They flew towards the battlefield.

As they approached, the helicopters dropped ropes, and two massive Jaegers, one red and one black plummeted to the ground, creating a huge splash in the shallow sea.

The red one, with three mechanical arms, was the Mark-4 Crimson Typhoon. The black one, with sharp, angular metal pieces, especially the two large metal plates resembling chest muscles, was the Mark-3 "Shaolin Rogue," a fighting-themed mech designed for close combat.

The Kaiju Hou Da, sensing the threat, turned around to face the charging Crimson Typhoon. It roared angrily, its massive mouth shining as it slammed its powerful arm into the ground, not retreating but charging forward towards Crimson Typhoon.

Crimson Typhoon used its three arms, with its body twisting, and spun three high-speed circular saw blades that sliced across the Kaiju's chest and back.

Hot, highly toxic blue blood sprayed from the wounds.

"Do you feel it?"

"The armor's so strong."

"Be careful. Don't rush until we find its weakness."

The three pilots of the Crimson Typhoon, triplets linked through a sensory system, became more agile as they sensed each other's intentions.

PPDC Headquarters.

The shattered dome.

"This situation is not good," said Tendo Choi, PPDC's chief technician, after analyzing the data sent back from Crimson Typhoon. "The Kaiju's armor is too strong. It's going to be very hard to deliver a fatal blow. In a short amount of time, neither Shaolin Rogue nor Crimson Typhoon will be able to resolve this fight."

Upon hearing this, Marshal Stacker Pentecost of the PPDC, who was observing the battlefield via a virtual screen, expression darkened even more, becoming even more grim.

The battle continued.

Shaolin Rogue, a Jaeger with a combat master system, relentlessly pummeled the Kaiju Hou Da with heavy punches. The two enormous behemoths seemed to be caught in a brutal exchange of blows, each causing the other harm. But the Kaiju's armor was exceptionally strong, and despite the pain from several of Shaolin Rogues punches, it never fell.

Even more frustrating for the Shaolin Rogues pilots was the Kaijus strength, which, like its armor, seemed overpowered. Even if they dodged five strikes, just one blow from the Kaiju felt shocking, as if their feet were nailed to the ground. The vibrations were unbearable! If not for Shaolin Rogue's strong armor and the timely interventions from Crimson Typhoon, they might have believed they were going to die in the previous intense minute of battle.

But now, despite the Kaiju Hou Da showing signs of injury, the pilots of the two Jaegers felt no relief—only a heavy sense of dread.

At PPDC headquarters, Tendo Choi reminded them again that the Kaiju's life signs hadn't weakened, meaning the damage they had inflicted so far, though seemingly severe, had not truly hurt the Kaiju. In other words, while it appeared they had the upper hand, they were actually at a disadvantage. If they didn't resolve the battle quickly, no one could predict what might happen next.

After all, each new Kaiju was an unknown risk, especially when they didn't yet know if it had any special abilities! Based on previous rare encounters, Category 4 Kaiju were likely to possess such abilities!

...

"Commander, the government has sent a communication requesting permission for a new Jaeger to be integrated into the PPDC's battle system and join the fight."

At PPDC headquarters, Tendo Choi, scanning through virtual displays, quickly processed the incoming data, then paused, his eyes widening in surprise as he exclaimed, "A new Jaeger? But the Jaeger Program hasn't received funding for production in the last four years!"

Stacker Pentecost was shocked by this and immediately asked, "I never received any notifications about a new Jaeger project!"

"It's from Shao Industries!" Tendo Choi quickly opened the information and projected the text into the air.
