Chapter 22: Chapter 22 Be one with them (Rewrited)
Inside the newly established base.
Arthur had managed to calm Hanbei down and brought her inside.
She was strong but she couldn't do anything to Arthur who had a high tolerance of magic.
Onmyodo was considered magic to dragons. So it was useless to use it against him.
Hanbei saw that and she couldn't help but stop attacking him.
There was no point in attacking someone who could brush off her attack like that.
She then learned the whole thing from Arthur after that.
"I am not the one who brought you to this world but the system. I don't even know that you are against it."
Arthur explained to her what the system was and how he summoned her.
Hanbei was super intelligent and she believed him as she could not catch any lies in his words.
Additional to that.
She was inside a base that was far too mystical and incomprehensible.
She would not even believe him if he said he came from the same era as her.
"I–I believe you, Arthur-dono. A–and I am very sorry about the bad manners that I have shown you earlier…"
She apologized to him in a very shy manner.
Her adrenaline had worn off and she became very shy.
The system also sent her notification that she would only be here for only a week before it would send her back.
So there was nothing for her to worry about. She would be reunited with her master after this.
Arthur could summon her again but he had to wait for the cool down to end.
And the matter of time that she was most concerned about, she learned that when she was summoned by Arthur, the time in her world stopped.
Not only was it not a problem, it was also an advantage for her, as she could use the one week she was given to plan things for her lord.
And while doing that she would help her summoner as well.
Arthur told her about why he summoned her in the first place.
"I want you to help me with something. And I will help you in return. I can tell you about your future."
Arthur could tell her about the future plot he knew as a reward.
However, Hanbei shook her.
"P–Please don't tell me about it Arthur-dono, I–I will only get my reward from the system. Hearing about the future might make things more complicated."
She was very wise.
She told him that he could just tell her if her future would be bright or not.
She would plan things herself.
"Okay, I understand then I will tell you why I summoned you here then."
Arthur explained everything to her.
He even told her about the knowledge he had about Avatar: The last airbender world.
With so much information. Hanbei smiled and said.
"Um, A–Arthur-dono wants to be fire lord but doesn't want to use force or shed innocence's blood. I can agree to that and I will help you achieve your goal in one week."
Hanbei said with confidence. She had so many plans that he could use.
"Well then enlighten me. What should I do to get to that position in one week?"
Arthur was curious about her plans. He wanted to know if she was really smart like in the anime or not.
…
Fire Nation, Caldera, the capital city.
The city was located in the western region of the Fire Nation.
The city had a distinct layout, featuring a harbor surrounded by a dock.
The Royal Plaza, an industrial harbor city, buildings and homes scattered around the surrounding hills, and a neighborhood in the crater of the volcano where Fire Nation elite live around the Royal Palace.
And today at the Royal Plaza, there was an interesting event happening.
The Fire Lord had ordered his general to recruit more people to his army in order to search for the avatar.
Ozai, the fire lord, had a dream of conquering the world.
But his dream could never come true if the Avatar was still around.
So he tried every possible way to get rid of the avatar.
"Is this really a good plan?"
Arthur could be seen standing in the queue for the recruitment.
Hanbei told him to come here and become one of the soldiers.
With his power, she believed that he would be able to climb up the ranks without much difficulty.
He must find the Avatar before the Fire Lord.
Knowing the plot didn't mean he could find the avatar easily.
He needed to gather more information, and the military was the best place to get the information across the continent.
He was here alone as he told Sylvie to take care of Hanbei at the base.
Many people looked in his way both male and female alike because he stood out too much.
He was too handsome for them to not notice him and the way he dressed was unlike any of them.
He was regal and had an aura about him that distinguished him from ordinary citizens.
It was his turn to show off his ability to the examiners.
They were all elite soldiers of the fire nation and one of them was even the renowned general.
Arthur didn't know how to bend fire but he knew how to manipulate them as a dragon.
He just randomly did Tai Chi he saw on the internet and controlled fire while doing that.
It was beautiful and mesmerizing to everyone who saw it.
He looked even more cool and handsome when he bent the fire.
Arthur even made the fire look like a chinese dragon and made it roar.
People who witnessed such a majestic sign clapped their hands and praised his beautiful way of bending.
"That is the new way to bend fire. I have never seen someone bending fire like that before. We must recruit him into our unit at all costs."
Whoever could bend fire would be put into an elite unit right away but the way Arthur bent fire and how he looked like a noble.
He would be put into a more important position in the elite unit.
"I think giving him to the princess would be good. Her highness has created a team to hunt down the avatar. She could use him, don't you all think?"
The general who oversaw the recruitment ment said with a cruel smirk.
He didn't have good intentions toward him at all. He must be very jealous toward Arthur.
Azula was known as a blood crazy princess.
She had created her own team in order to hunt down the avatar and the exiled prince Zuko.
When the general saw him. He remembered them and wanted him to join that group immediately.
Arthur had very good ears and he heard him clearly.
He knew that the general was jealous of him and wanted to get rid of him in fear of him taking his place.
Even him couldn't bend fire like he did. He felt that his position was shaking and wanted to get rid of him as soon as possible.
'Hanbei foresaw this. She said that my look and how graceful my bending would give me an advantage but I don't think it would be to this point.'
Arthur would be given to Azula. And no one had any objections.
Serving a crown princess of the fire nation was the highest honor one could get.
"Go and report yourself to her highness right now. Her highness is staying in that tent. Be careful of what you said otherwise, your head might be rolling."
The general hoped that he would make a mistake and be killed by the princess.
Arthur just nodded at him. He didn't care about him after that.
'Being one of Azula's team could get me more information about Aung and his friends. However, Azula's personality is cruel and unforgiven. I must be careful when I am with her.'
He could not use force in order to become fire lord.
He must be careful not to agitate her or things might become more complicated.
…
Inside the biggest tent.
Azula and her team, Ty lee and Mai was now discussing of how should they hunt down the Avatar and the exiled prince Zuko
Ty Lee was a cheerful and energetic girl while Mai was serious and strict.
The two were in contrast from each other but their personality created harmony like Yin and Yang.
As for Azula, herself was cold and unforgiven.
However, she treated her two childhood friends quite well compared to how she treated other people.
"I got information about where Zuko and uncle Iroh were. They are now staying at the village resort. We should go there and arrest them first."
Azula said it with a cruel smile. She wanted to beat her brother very much.
Ty Lee and Mai looked at each other.
Ty Lee said to Azula.
"Are we going to be okay? He is with
General Iroh, the dragon of the west. You are very strong, I understand but I don't think you can beat him."
She said honestly.
Azula felt annoyed but she understood her.
It was the truth that she was not strong enough to fight Iroh and won.
She wasn't stupid.
"We will not fight him. We will trick him into thinking that father has forgiven Zuko and wants him back."
Mai heard that and asked.
"But General Iroh is very wise. He will not fall for such a simple trick."
"He will not but Zuko will. If we have Zuko we will have him as well. Even with his strength he could not win against the whole army."
Azula was very confident in herself. Her plan was magnificent.
Not only was she cold and unforgiven. She was also narcissistic.
She believed that she could do everything.
And when she was about to talk more about her plan.
Her assistant soldier reported to her that there was a new recruit the general wanted to add to her team.
Azula felt angry that the general would dare send someone without permission but the general was favored by her father so she couldn't do anything.
However, the new recruit was another matter.
"I will test him myself. If he isn't up to my standard. He will die."
Ty Lee and Mai felt bad for the new recruit. They knew that the general wanted him dead so he deliberately sent him to Azula.
Arthur looked at the elite soldiers who stood outside the tent guarding it.
They looked at him in pity as they were sure that he would not survive this ordeal.
'Handsomeness could be one downfall as well. The general must be very jealous of him'
This wasn't the first time that the general sent someone to annoy the princess.
Anyone who got sent here was beaten up near death by Azula.
Fortunately, she still had humanity left inside her and didn't kill them on the spot.
However, she was still brutally beating them, sheding them of their dignity.
Many of them said that she should kill them rather than humiliate them like that.
"You should run away."
One of the guards said to him. If he chose to run away. He still had a chance to live on with his dignity.
Azula would only say he was a coward and send her soldiers to catch him and order him to be imprisoned.
She was too busy to deal with a coward. She would let someone else deal with them instead.
Getting beaten by the warden was still better than being beaten and humiliated by Azula.
He could tell because he was one of those who chose to run away.
He still lived on and Azula already forgot about him completely.
It's win-win in his opinion.
"Thanks for the tips. But I can handle her just fine."
Arthur had his pride strengthened due to slowly becoming a dragon and a cosmic being.
"Her highness will beat you and humiliate you in front of everyone. Are you really okay with that?"
The guard still tried to convince him but Arthur shook his head.
"I am fine, really. I will remember you well. What is your name?"
Arthur was impressed by his genuine care for his well being.
"My name is Koh, what about yours?"
"My name is Arthur Leywin Stark."
"What a weird name but from how many consonants there are in your name, You must be of a noble bloodline from far away land. I will remember you as well."
Koh was just a normal elite soldier. And because of that he had empathy toward those who face misfortune.
"Yes, may be I am and you should be silent now because she is coming out."
"???"
Koh was confused until he heard someone walking out of the tent.
And it was Azula, the crazy princess. If Arthur didn't warn him maybe it would be him to be in his place.
Azula hated those who talked about her behind her back.
'He knew that her highness was about to come out. I can't even hear her highness's footsteps until her highness comes out.'
"You must be the new recruit. Come with me and be done with it."
Azula said arrogantly toward Arthur. She didn't even look him in the eyes.
She was confident that she would beat him and send him away with broken bones and dignity lost.
She would be self-inducing in his suffering.
She was sadistic by upbringing.
She wasn't born this way but her father made her this way with his cruel ruling on both family and nation.
Arthur followed her. Great Red was so angry right now.
「Kill this bitch please!」
「I hate to admit it but Baka Red is right this time.」
Ophis didn't show that she was angry but he could tell that she wasn't feeling happy either.
She dared to look down on dragons. Her fate was sealed.
Like usual, Azula brought Arthur toward the stage at the center of the Royal Plaza.
Ty Lee and Mai were already there waiting for them.
Not only them that would be watching them but the citizens and many elite soldiers were watching them as well.
It was a very good show to lessen their boredom watching Azula beating someone.
They even made a bet pool about how long he could last against Azula.
There was no bet about the new recruit winning against her. No one would be stupid enough to earn her ire for a few bans.
Arthur didn't care about them but he focused on Ty Lee and Mai.
One was cute and the other was beautiful.
To be honest, he really liked Ty Lee and even dreams of having her as his girlfriend.
Her bubbly personality was really endearing to him.
Ty Lee saw him looking at her and couldn't help but feel shy.
He was very handsome.
"Ty Lee, you shouldn't fall for someone who was going to be humiliated by her."
Mai said with a sigh.
"I know but Azula will not beat him easily"
Mai was surprised that Ty Lee would dare saying that.
She was afraid of Azula after all.
"Why are you saying that?"
"His body is a lot stronger than anyone I met. He will beat Azula in one bout if he wants to."
"He is that strong?"
Mai would have to look at this fight more carefully. She believed in Ty Lee's eyes.
She was an expert in martial arts after all.
