Chapter 26: Ch.26 The Wanderer Spider-Man
"Spider... you..."
At that moment, Steve and Natasha stared at Charlie Parker in horror, their eyes filled with unease.
They had witnessed just how terrifying the symbiote was, and now it seemed like Charlie had been "contaminated" by that same creature.
They didn't know what would happen next—maybe the very next second, Charlie would open his maw and devour them. They dared not get too close.
Seeing their reactions, Charlie clenched his fist, feeling the immense power within his body, unconcerned with how his teammates were feeling.
Boom~~
With just one punch, the cave shook violently, rocks tumbled down, and Steve and Natasha struggled to maintain their balance, almost falling to the ground.
"Sh*t."
"Steve, did you just curse?"
"No, I didn't."
They helped each other up, and as they steadied themselves, they noticed the cave walls were now covered in spider-web-like cracks, each at least as wide as a palm.
They found it hard to believe such power could exist.
"If I hadn't seen it with my own eyes, I'd think Hulk had done this."
"I get it now. The symbiote enhances the host's strength. This must've been Charlie's goal."
"Incredible, but we need to stop him—one more hit and the whole cave will collapse."
As Natasha said this, the cracks expanded again, and any further movement could bring the entire cave down.
Charlie noticed this, and calmly pulled his fist from the wall, showing no concern that they could all be buried alive if the cave collapsed.
He felt stronger and freer than ever before.
It was like he had...
Gone crazy!
Suddenly jolted back to his senses, Charlie stared at the collapsing cave and cursed himself for being reckless.
Only two restarts left, and here he was, messing around!
He knew that the symbiote could amplify the host's darker tendencies.
Charlie had anticipated that he might become more evil, cruel, or cunning, but he had thought these traits wouldn't interfere with the mission.
As long as he won the resurrection match and returned to his world, the symbiote would no longer be able to influence him.
What he hadn't expected was that being bonded with the symbiote would turn him into a "wanderer."
Charlie could accept being weak, but he wouldn't accept being reckless.
He was really trying his best.
But now, amplified by the symbiote, Charlie started doubting himself.
Thankfully, even though he had become a "wanderer," with the restart chances running low, he managed to suppress these impulses and regain his clarity.
If the cave collapsed, Tony would definitely be done for.
Charlie wasn't sure how long he could keep this urge under control, so without explaining anything, he rushed toward Tony's chamber.
Bang!!
With a powerful kick, Charlie smashed the iron door open. The door flew past Tony's body by a hair's breadth, slamming into the stone wall with a loud crash.
Rocks scattered, and Tony's body shook slightly.
In that instant, Charlie felt a chill run down his spine.
Don't mess this up—don't mess this up!
He constantly reminded himself, rushing to Tony's side and tearing a piece of the black symbiote from his chest without hesitation.
The black liquid squirmed in his hand, occasionally twisting into web-like tendrils, looking eerily strange.
Each generation of the symbiote grew stronger than the last, partially because it could copy the abilities of its previous hosts.
Charlie had taken the symbiote cells from Venom Parker, and now, he was going to give a portion of it to Tony.
The symbiote in his hand carried the abilities of two different Spider-Men.
He didn't know if giving Tony these symbiote cells would turn him into Iron Man again, but all that mattered now was keeping Tony alive.
Under Yinsen's shocked gaze, Charlie placed the black liquid at Tony's ear.
Splat!
Instantly, the black liquid seeped into Tony's ear, and... nothing happened.
Just as this scene unfolded, Steve and Natasha arrived.
"Spider, what are you doing?" Steve shouted in alarm.
Natasha's face was filled with suspicion, her hand ready to activate the ultrasonic device at any moment.
"I need an explanation," she said coldly.
Charlie rolled his eyes. "I've never liked explaining to women—no, no, wait, hold on. Fine, I'll explain. Just turn that thing off first," he said, rubbing his temples.
Seeing this, Natasha slowly deactivated the ultrasonic device, feeling a sense of relief.
Thankfully, the device still affected him.
Charlie rubbed his temples. The ultrasonic device had some effect on the symbiote within him, but it wasn't significant.
After all, each generation was stronger than the last.
He could easily withstand the sound waves and still deal with Natasha.
But that wasn't necessary.
Because, under the influence of the sound waves, his reckless side had settled down for a while.
While he was still in control, he explained, "The symbiote has incredible regenerative abilities. Just a small portion of it can grow inside Tony's body and heal him in a short time."
"What?"
Hearing this, Steve and Natasha were both shocked, exchanging bewildered glances.
"That's why you let yourself get bonded with the symbiote?" Steve asked.
Charlie nodded. "Yes, Tony's injuries are severe. Without the symbiote, no one can save him."
"How did you know—" Steve began but quickly answered his own question.
"Alright, I get it. It's your... superpower."
He had grown used to Charlie's uncanny ability to know things in advance.
With a teammate like this, losing was nearly impossible.
At this point, Natasha also relaxed her guard toward Charlie.
She turned to look at Tony's still body, her brow furrowed. "But he doesn't seem to be reacting."
"I didn't give him much symbiote. It needs to grow a bit inside Tony before it can take effect."
Sure enough, as soon as Charlie finished speaking, Tony's body began to spasm. The grotesque wounds all over his body started turning a strange black, and the nails in his back were pushed out by more of the black liquid.
Wherever the black liquid spread, Tony's wounds healed rapidly, and the bloodstains were swept away with it.
Seeing this, Natasha's eyes widened in disbelief.
"My god, this is unbelievable," she gasped.
Steve was equally stunned. "It's hard to imagine that a creature like this actually exists."
Behind them, Yinsen, who had been staring blankly, suddenly showed a glimmer of hope.
"This creature doesn't just have amazing regenerative abilities—it could revolutionize medicine and save countless lives!" he said, his voice filled with excitement.
Charlie couldn't help but throw a bit of cold water on his enthusiasm.
"The symbiote amplifies the host's darker tendencies. If we let it grow unchecked and spread, this world would be destroyed. This isn't a joke."
"What?"
At these words, Yinsen's face fell, and Steve and Natasha exchanged uneasy glances.
"Spider, what's your dark side?" Natasha asked, not noticing any major changes in Charlie after he was bonded with the symbiote.
Charlie shrugged. "As you can see, my dark side is..."
