Chapter 44: Love, Yandere, and Cosmic Chaos
David stepped through the shimmering portal back into his home dimension, his body relaxing as the familiar sights and sounds enveloped him.
The warmth of his home was a stark contrast to the cold and desolate Niflheim. He floated gently to the ground outside the sleek, modern villa that he shared with Emma, his beloved .
Pushing the door open, he was greeted by the enticing aroma of something delicious cooking in the kitchen. A soft hum reached his ears, and he couldn't help but smile.
"Emma?" he called out.
"In here Babe!" her cheerful voice responded.
He walked into the kitchen, where Emma stood in an apron, her silver-white hair tied back as she stirred something on the stove. She turned to him, her striking blue eyes lighting up.
"You're back," she said warmly, wiping her hands on a towel before wrapping her arms around him.
"Yeah," he replied, pulling her close. "You wouldn't believe the day I've had."
"Oh, really?" she teased, pulling back just enough to look up at him. "Did you save another world? Fight a cosmic entity? Or stumble into some interdimensional chaos again?"
"Something like that," he admitted with a wry grin. "Let's just say I had a run-in with Hela of this universe. She tried to kill me."
Emma rolled her eyes playfully. "Of course she did. You probably gave her your sad puppy eyes and made her rethink her life choices, didn't you?"
David chuckled. "Not exactly, but close enough."
"Typical David," she said, shaking her head fondly.
They moved to the dining area, where Emma had already set the table. As they ate, their conversation flowed easily, filled with teasing banter and shared laughter.
"By the way," Emma said casually, twirling her fork, "I've been thinking about something."
"Uh-oh," David said, smirking. "That's dangerous."
Emma swatted his arm playfully. "I'm serious! I want to rename the company."
David raised an eyebrow. "Rename Frost Industries? Why? It's your family legacy."
"Exactly," Emma said, her eyes sparkling mischievously. "It's my legacy. But you're my future. I'm changing it to Faust Industries and making you the official owner."
David nearly choked on his drink. "Wait, what? Emma, no! I don't need money or a company. I'm fine—"
Emma silenced him with a kiss, her lips soft and insistent against his. He blinked in surprise but didn't resist. When she pulled away, her expression was tender yet firm.
"David," she said, cupping his face with her hands, "everything I have, everything I've built—it's nothing compared to you. You've given me more than I could ever ask for. I want the world to know how much I love you."
Her words made his heart ache in the best way possible, but then he noticed the strange glint in her eyes and the slightly too-wide smile spreading across her face.
"Emma..." he began, a hint of panic creeping into his voice.
She leaned in closer, her smile turning almost predatory. "It's only fair, right? Everything that's mine is yours, and anyone who disagrees will simply... disappear."
David's eyes widened. Oh no. I'm engaged to a Yandere.
He laughed nervously, gently patting her shoulder. "You know, Emma, that's sweet and all, but let's not go overboard, okay?"
She tilted her head, her smile softening but her eyes still holding that unsettling intensity. "Overboard? Oh, David, I would do anything for you."
David sighed internally, shrugging. Well, she's not that powerful, so it's fine. It's not like I have some other overpowered Yandere in my life.
Meanwhile, in Earth-2149
Jean Grey sat cross-legged on her bed, her fiery red hair cascading around her shoulders. A dreamy smile spread across her face as she hugged a pillow tightly, her thoughts entirely consumed by one person: David
"Oh, David," she murmured, her cheeks flushed. Her fingers trailed along the fabric of her pillow, as if it were him. "Why are you taking so long? You know I'll wait for you, but... can't you hurry up?"
The Phoenix Force stirred within her, its voice resonating in her mind like a fiery whisper. Sister, why wait? We could break through these petty dimensional barriers and go to him. He belongs to us.
Jean's smile turned sharp, almost possessive. "No," she said softly but firmly. "I believe in him. He'll come back to me."
The Phoenix chuckled darkly. And if he doesn't?
Jean's fingers glowed faintly with power as she traced patterns in the air. "Then maybe... I'll just cause a little chaos. Nothing big—just enough to get his attention.
Maybe if the universe is on the brink of destruction again, he'll come rushing to save it... and me."
The Phoenix laughed outright. Bitch! You're crazier than I am!
Jean's lips curled into a wicked smile. "Maybe. But then again, he always did say he liked me a little fiery."
She closed her eyes, the flames of the Phoenix flickering around her like a crown, as she imagined the day David would return. And when he did, she would make sure he never left again.
Back at home, David sneezed suddenly, a shiver running down his spine.
"Are you okay?" Emma asked, her concern breaking through her earlier intensity.
"Yeah," David said, shaking his head. "Just got this weird feeling like someone's plotting... something."
Emma smiled sweetly. "Don't worry, love. If anyone's causing trouble, I'll handle them."
David gave her a wary look but smiled anyway. "Of course you will."
What have I gotten myself into? He thought, not realizing just how deep his Yandere troubles truly ran.
