Marvel: Neo Journey

Chapter 2: Chapter 2 Neo

???: "Well, I'm screwed."

??? says this as the soldiers pull the trigger on their guns and shoot at him. When the bullets hit, instead of extreme pain, he only feels pinpricks. When he looks, they're tranquilizer darts. When he thinks of speaking or reacting, he simply passes out.The soldiers gather around him and start carrying him outside.

When they exit, they are faced with New York, but they don't even care about the view as they push curious onlookers aside and head to a military truck where several other children are piled like corpses with no care, as if they were mere insignificant items.

??? is thrown onto the pile while the soldiers return to their positions and start talking.

Soldier 1: "Turner, tell me, how's your shitty team doing, still losing?"

Soldier 1, who is about 1.93m (6'4"), clearly the most muscular of the five, is known as Rodriguez.

He asks while laughing, mocking Turner.

Turner: "Fuck off, Rodriguez. They'll win... someday."

Turner is about 1.83m (6'0"), the second leanest of them, looking at Rodriguez.Rodriguez starts laughing non-stop at his partner's last comment and looks at Smith, who seems down, then asks:

Rodriguez: "What's up, Smith? What's with this depressed attitude, man? We did another incredible job."

Smith: "Man, you know, I still don't like this. They're kids."

Rodriguez, Turner, Sanchez, and Jones give Smith a "disapproving" look, and before Rodriguez can say anything, Sanchez interrupts and says:

Sanchez: "They're not kids, they're mutants."

The other three nod in agreement with Sanchez, and Jones adds:

Jones: "They don't have rights to begin with, Smith. If they were really going to make a difference in this world, other than ruining it, we wouldn't be taking them to 'THAT' place."

Smith: "I know, but—"

Rodriguez interrupts Smith and says:

Rodriguez: "ENOUGH! Look, if you really had compassion for them, then complain to the president and the boss."

Smith, who is 1.75m (5'7") and clearly the weakest among them, shrinks from his previous compassion and stays quiet again while the others joke and relax.

As time passes, they finally arrive at the base, which has only three rules:

No one is allowed to speak the names. No one can remove their mask under any circumstances.

No one touches the experiments without the consent of Reiner, the Chief Researcher. If anyone has any disputes, they talk to Reiner, and if something bad happens, Reiner deals with it, and so on.

When the group arrives at the gate, Sanchez shows his badge, and the soldier opens the gate revealing...

Well, the only way to describe this place is a concentration camp. Children, adults, women, the elderly, it doesn't matter.

Everyone is being forced to do something—mining for no reason, doing physical exercises but getting shocked if they stop, being beaten, and so on.

The truck enters what seems like a garage.

When they stop, a group of soldiers begins to take the children out, putting shock collars on them.

The group of soldiers helps, except for Smith, who goes to report to Reiner.

Smith walks through almost hospital-like white corridors while he thinks about why he's here.

He was just an ordinary academic who discovered a way to locate mutants with an 80% success rate.

Then a group offered him a large sum to sell the technology, but he refused. He said he didn't think it was right to hunt mutants without them having done anything.

But one day, when his mother had a serious accident, he had no choice. He accepted the offer to sell, only if he could participate in the research and "mutant hunting," as they call it here.

Smith, being soft-hearted, had made the location program fail a few times to save some mutants, but he's not a god.

If he saved them all, he'd be the one to suffer. Then Smith reaches Reiner's office, takes a deep breath, and knocks on the door.

He hears an "Enter," and there he was—Reiner.

Reiner was a short man, around 1.63m (5'4"), looking to be in his sixties or seventies, with gray hair. He wore formal clothes with a lab coat on top, but what stood out the most was the massive burn scar that covered half of his face.

Reiner looks at Smith with a sinister smile and happily asks:

Reiner: "How many magnificent specimens did you bring today, dear Smith?"

Smith shudders a little at the scientist's smile but swallows his fear and replies:

Smith: "We brought 14, all in full health, and all children or teenagers."

Reiner widens his smile and says:

Reiner: "Magnificent. Prepare their saddles and the experimentation rooms."

Smith doesn't respond, just nods, and walks away. Being near that man makes him feel sick.

??? wakes up with a headache worse than before, and much more confused than before.

He begins to look around again to see that he was in a cell, with only a bed, a toilet, and a sink.

And then, finally, with a bit of peace to think and act, he begins to digest what he already knows.

He woke up here after being poisoned to death, with a headache or rather a head injury, then a group of soldiers surrounded him and kidnapped him... And there's that damn screen.

He looks at a floating screen in front of him that says (WELCOME HOST TO THE MARVEL UNIVERSE), and the only thing that comes to his mind is:

'What a nice welcome gift.'

He thinks to himself, as he notices the shock collar.

Perfect, I die poisoned, wake up in a strange room wounded, then get kidnapped, then go schizophrenic.

'What a shitty day this is.'

'But now that I think about it...'

He looks at the floating screen in front of him and focuses on the only word, MARVEL.

And what comes to his mind is a giant purple guy who seems to have bathed too much, a being who literally eats planets, a one-eyed god with a spear, and a certain bald guy who's super strong, and thinks:

'If I'm not going crazy...'

He begins to deflate and get depressed and says:

???: "I'm screwed."

Interrupting his thoughts, the massive steel door opens, revealing a scientist along with two guards with rifles, approaching.

When the scientist takes his face off the clipboard he's holding, he looks at ??? and says:

Scientist: "Finally, you woke up. Damn, that took too long. Okay, let's get started quickly. I have lunch soon."

Before he could respond, the guards held his arms, and he finally realized something.

'Whose arms are these?'

And then, as if struck by lightning, he pushes the guards around him away with force and runs to the toilet and looks at his reflection.

And then, as if struck by lightning, he forcefully pushes the guards away, runs to the toilet, and looks at his reflection.

He sees a child, approximately 15 years old, with snow-like white hair, scarlet-red eyes, slight dark circles under his eyes, and slightly sharp canines—like a fake vampire. In addition, for some reason, his skin was abnormally pale.

But before he could keep looking at his new body, the guards grabbed him again and started dragging him to an unknown location.

After about five minutes of being dragged, he wasn't stupid enough to try breaking free—he simply stayed quiet and waited.

Honestly speaking, he thinks none of this is real, and that at any moment, he'll wake up back on the streets, in the freezing cold.

So right now, he couldn't care less about anything.

Until they finally arrive in a white room with a restraint chair in the middle, where he is placed and handcuffed.

After being properly restrained, the scientist begins attaching some electrodes to his head. Once he finishes, he starts speaking.

Scientist: "Experiment No. 50253, testing mutant reaction to neuron destruction in subjects with regenerative abilities. Current specimen is Mutant No. 7426854, Rank 1. Name: Neo Weyne."

When Neo hears his name, his eyes widen as he thinks:

'Great, I get the Weyne name, but instead of money, I get a fancy shock collar.'

As he was thinking about this, the scientist began counting down to press the button.

And as the countdown started, the screen in front of Neo changed to another message.

[MAIN MISSION START: SURVIVE THE EXPERIMENTS]Reward: System initialization and Starter Pack

Neo: "What do you mean survi—"

AHHHHHHHHHH!

Before he could finish, the scientist, unaware of Neo's thoughts, pressed the button, and a searing pain tore through Neo, making him experience the worst agony he had ever felt.

It was as if someone was shoving a hot iron sword into his skull and twisting it to amplify the suffering.

it reached a point where he wanted to die all over again. After what felt like an eternity to Neo

But was actually only four minutes

The scientist turned off the machine and started speaking and taking notes.

Unfortunately for Neo, he didn't hear a single word, as he had already passed out.

After a few hours, Neo woke up in the same cell as always, and the first thing he thought was:

'This isn't a dream.'

And he panicked, because if he's here, it means he's going to die because of these experiments.

And that's not even the real problem.

The real issue is that if he survives and manages to escape, he's screwed, because screw the government hunting him, he was worried about the fact that from here, he doesn't know how long it will be until some giant purple guy grabs some shiny rocks and erases half of the living people.

After some time, Neo calmed down and began to think.

'I need to escape, but how?'

He looked at the screen in front of him, and a faint smile appeared on his face as he said:

Neo: If this isn't just my madness, maybe this is the famous initial hack.

With that, he began to think about how to escape and prepare to survive the experiments.

And so, three months passed.

Hey guys, I'm here again, I know it's one after another, but it's because I'm inspired. But I don't know what this thing with power stones is, but it seems important, so if possible, could you give me some? Also, like before, if you have any criticism, just tell me, okay? But they need to be constructive, no insults please, because if it's like that, I won't even read it. But anyway, good morning!
