"It's okay. He should be lucky to have survived under the hands of the strongest Avenger."

Finn casually ruffled Wanda's hair before shifting his gaze toward Nick Fury, who sat on the couch, his expression unreadable yet tinged with embarrassment.

Finn remembered the truth about the man before him—this wasn't the real Nick Fury.

This is a Skrull transformed into Fury. The real Fury was out in space, probably lounging on a chair, enjoying a well-earned vacation while the impostor handled things on Earth.

"You're surprisingly calm," Fury remarked, his single eye scrutinizing Finn with an intensity honed by years of espionage.

His instincts immediately flagged the young man. Those deep, unfazed eyes weren't normal. An average person in his presence would be intimidated to some degree, but Finn? He seemed too composed.

There was something off about him.

"Fury, Finn doesn't know you," Wanda interjected, stepping in front of Finn protectively, her sharp gaze locking onto the one-eyed spy. She looked like a fierce cat guarding its food, her stance defensive.

Fury blinked, momentarily caught off guard. This was a first—Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch, actively protecting someone. And not just anyone—a man.

The only exception before had been Vision, but that didn't count. Vision wasn't even human.

Still, there was no time to dwell on that realization. Fury straightened, cutting straight to the point.

"Wanda, I need your help. I need a superhero."

"I'm not interested in any more missions," Wanda stated coldly, shaking her head.

The last time she followed someone into a fight, she had helped spark an international crisis in Germany. She had seen too many innocent lives lost because of her powers.

She wasn't about to make that mistake again.

"Wanda, five years ago, I had my eyes on everything. I controlled the world's most sophisticated intelligence network. And now?" Fury leaned forward, his voice dropping to a grave tone. "Now, it's all crumbling. My ears and eyes have gone blind, and I'm operating in the dark."

His words were heavy, but Wanda's resolve remained firm.

"I can't help you. There are others—the new generation of heroes. They're dealing with today's crises."

Finn, who had been silently observing, let out a quiet chuckle, breaking the tension.

"Fury, you seem pretty desperate," he mused.

"It's not desperation," Fury countered, his tone sharpening. "It's necessity. The group that appeared today—the shadow creatures—they're an unknown factor. They could be from another universe. Or worse, they could be a threat to ours."

Finn smirked. "But they took down the water Titan in a few hits."

"That wasn't a Titan, kid. It was a water elemental," Fury corrected with irritation. "And if Mysterio hadn't softened it up first, those shadow creatures wouldn't have had a chance."

Finn raised an eyebrow, clearly unconvinced.

Fury sighed, redirecting his focus back to Wanda. He needed to change his approach.

"Wanda, listen to me." His voice dropped, adopting a more somber tone. "Tony Stark—Iron Man—gave his life to ensure the world didn't suffer another disaster. He snapped his fingers so people like you could protect what he left behind."

A shadow crossed Wanda's face. The mention of Tony brought back memories of the battle, of those who didn't make it back.

A long silence followed.

Then, finally, she nodded. "Send me the mission details."

Fury exhaled in relief. "Thank you, Wanda."

With Scarlet Witch in the fight, the odds had just shifted in his favor.

Finn leaned back, arms crossed, and grinned. "So, does that make me half an Avenger? Since I just witnessed this top-secret superhero meeting?"

Fury snorted. "Kid, the Avengers have one requirement: you need to be human. Consider yourself lucky you qualify."

He pulled his coat tight. "Alright, you two, I'll be arranging your new travel plans. See you tomorrow."

With that, Fury turned to leave—dramatically heading toward the window.

Except it was stuck.

He yanked it once. It didn't budge.

Twice. Still jammed.

There was an awkward silence.

Then, with a chuckle, Finn walked up and effortlessly slid the window open, breaking the stuck metal bar in the process.

"Don't be embarrassed, Fury. You loosened it for me," Finn said, smirking.

Fury coughed. "Ahem. Exactly my plan."

Without another word, he jumped out and disappeared into the night.

Wanda closed the window, turning to Finn with a questioning look.

"Aren't you worried?"

Finn tilted his head. "Worried about what?"

"The new crisis," Wanda murmured. "Fury was anxious. Whatever's coming… it's bad."

Finn pulled her onto the couch beside him.

"You're here, so I'm not worried."

Wanda opened her mouth to respond but froze as she felt his hand wander.

"Finn—where are your hands going?"

Finn grinned innocently. "You promised me a reward, right? Don't worry, I won't cross the line… unless you want me to."

Wanda's eyes narrowed.

Part 2: Shadows Watching

While Wanda and Finn enjoyed their night in Venice, far away in Westview, something else was brewing.

In a dimly lit room, a television flickered, casting eerie shadows across the walls.

Agatha Harkness sat in front of the screen, her face stone-cold as she watched the footage unfold.

Her fingers drummed against the wooden armrest, her expression unreadable.

And then she saw it—the creatures cloaked in shadows, their eerie movements unnatural, their presence an anomaly.

Her grip tightened on the rabbit in her lap, stroking its fur absentmindedly.

"Mr. Straché," she murmured, voice laced with venom.

From the shadows, a figure emerged—a man cloaked in a dark coat, his presence exuding authority and menace.

"You were right," Agatha continued, her voice like a blade. "Something's happening in Venice. And we can't let that fool get ahead of us."

Straché stepped forward, his eyes glinting with amusement. "Then it's time to move. Let's see what kind of chaos we can stir."

Agatha smirked.

The pieces were moving.

And the game was only beginning.
