Chapter 51: Chapter 50 : Dr. Strange
Strange's pupils shrank slightly.
At this moment, he was very sure that the other party could see him through the peek spell.
It was hard to imagine how high the other party's mental power must be and how sensitive he was to spells.
Besides, he had never dealt with Loki before! Why did this person know him?
Not only that, but the most important thing was that after he found that the Rainbow Bridge had fallen, he had used the Time Stone to peek into the future, allowing him to accurately locate Loki.
But now Thor had disappeared, and this person had appeared instead.
Why had the future changed?
Strange took a deep breath.
No matter what, this was the Sanctuary of the Holy of Holies. Even if Loki was strange, he was confident he could handle him.
In that case, it was better to meet and clear up the doubts.
With this thought, Strange manipulated the space using the energy of the Sanctuary, folding and replacing spatial positions.
Russell raised an eyebrow as the surrounding environment changed instantly.
During the movement, he could clearly feel the changes in space. The folding, displacement, and resetting were all real-world operations based on the mirror dimension.
It was both extremely difficult and exquisitely precise.
Russell felt that his understanding of space had suddenly improved, thanks to his spiritual sensitivity and perception. Instinctively, he snapped his fingers.
Within the space window, Strange floated midair, adopting a mystical master gesture, ready to launch a surprise attack on Loki.
But then, he saw Loki, who had just been moved to the second floor, suddenly show an expression of realization.
Then, the other party raised his hand and snapped his fingers.
In an instant, familiar spatial fluctuations occurred.
Strange watched as Loki's body vanished and, following a hunch, turned to look below through the window. Sure enough, the other party had returned to his original position.
"This is outrageous," Strange muttered, touching his nose. Not only had he failed to impress, but the other party had seemingly gained significant insights.
The trick of space transfer that had taken him years to master was learned by Loki in one demonstration.
This was a complete loss.
At that moment, spatial fluctuations occurred again, and Loki appeared right in front of him.
"Good afternoon, Mr. Strange," Russell greeted politely.
Strange sniffed, clearly unhappy, and replied calmly, "Not Mr. Strange—Doctor Strange."
"Of course. According to custom, the Asgardians should call me the Sorcerer Supreme," Strange added.
Russell smiled and countered, "What about the Frost Giants, Dr. Strange?"
Strange scrutinized him and replied solemnly, "That depends on the other party."
Russell chuckled. "Don't be so serious, Mr. Holmes. You should know why Thor and I are here on Earth."
Strange, annoyed at being called three different names in such a short span, said nothing. Instead, he manipulated space again, transporting them to a tea room with a wave of his hand.
"Tea?" he offered.
Strange shook his head and quipped, "No, it might be too hot for you. How about iced cola?"
Russell smiled, tapped the coffee table, and said, "No need to be so formal. I like to help myself."
A bottle of Chivas Regal whiskey appeared on the table.
"That's my 63-year-old limited edition whiskey!" Strange muttered, suppressing his anguish.
"You're welcome," Russell said nonchalantly, pouring a glass for each of them.
Strange, feeling the irritation bubbling within him, drank in one gulp.
"You're welcome," he echoed resentfully.
Russell nodded, while Strange took a deep breath, deciding to cut to the chase.
"As the Sorcerer Supreme, I monitor people and things from other worlds because they may pose a threat to this one," Strange began seriously.
"Thor and I are here to find Odin. There's no need for suspicion; I bear no ill will towards Earth," Russell interrupted, his tone calm yet firm.
Strange hesitated before replying, "I met Odin. He's awakened from the spell but chose self-exile. He's resolute and doesn't want to be disturbed."
Russell pressed, "The God King's body is nearing its limit. He doesn't have many days left. If he's in Midgard, it could lead to a major diplomatic incident."
Strange stood abruptly, his tone solemn. "Kamar-Taj respects personal conflicts within families. We don't interfere. But I'll take you to him."
Russell glanced at him approvingly but reminded, "Let's not forget Thor."
"Oh, right," Strange said, conjuring a portal.
Seconds later, a scream rang out as Thor tumbled through.
"Ahhhhh—"
With a loud crash, Thor landed hard on the floor.
Russell glanced at the shattered tiles and asked dryly, "Does Asgard compensate for damages?"
Strange stared at his broken Italian floor tiles, wincing, before shaking his head.
Thor dusted himself off and exclaimed, "Brother, you were right! That spot was magical!"
Russell smiled faintly.
Strange, now eager to conclude this meeting, used a spell to locate Odin on a Norwegian beach and opened another portal. Without saying goodbye, he sent Thor and Loki through.
