Marvel: I can summon heroes from League of Legends

Chapter 55. An Unexpected Transformation!

With Thor's announcement of the banquet's start, the Asgardians erupted in cheers, filling the hall with joy and laughter.

Noah seated Gwen at the table where Thor's friends were: Jane and her companions, Sif, the Warrior's Three, and a few other Asgardians whom Noah didn't recognize but assumed to be Thor's friends.

"By the way, Thor, how's Loki?" Noah asked, glancing around and noticing Loki wasn't present. He guessed Loki was likely imprisoned in Asgard's dungeons.

"Loki is currently in the dungeons. When my father wakes, he'll decide what to do with him," Thor replied, setting his glass aside.

Noah nodded, understanding that Loki had not escaped punishment. However, compared to other dungeon inhabitants, his confinement seemed almost luxurious.

"Don't worry about Loki. He earned his punishment. Tonight, we're here to celebrate! Friends, raise your glasses!" Thor lifted his glass, spilling a bit of Asgardian golden wine. After a few gulps, he was about to smash the glass but hesitated and placed it gently back on the table.

Everyone at the table began drinking. Jane took a small sip of the wine, while Darcy drank in large gulps, knowing she might never taste it again. Erik, however, drank sparingly, remembering his embarrassing episode the last time he got drunk.

"Oh, this wine is so strong!" Gwen exclaimed after taking a sip of the golden wine, grimacing at its intense flavor and sticking out her tongue.

Feeling the cheerful atmosphere, she began to enjoy herself too. Seeing everyone drink the golden wine, she wanted to try it as well. She picked up a glass and took a small sip. At first, she enjoyed the pleasant aroma, but the strong taste quickly made her wince.

"Could we have two glasses of fruit wine, please?" Noah asked a passing servant, noticing Gwen's reaction. He preferred fruit wines for their sweetness and aroma, avoiding stronger spirits.

"Of course, just a moment."

Soon, the servant returned with two glasses of fruit wine, setting them down in front of Noah and Gwen.

"Thank you, Noah," Gwen said, winking at him. She held the glass to her nose, inhaling the sweet aroma, and took a sip with a satisfied smile.

"Asgardian wine truly is superb," Noah remarked, enjoying the fruit wine.

"Of course, we Asgardians are masters of winemaking," Thor declared proudly.

As the banquet progressed, the atmosphere grew increasingly lively. Asgardians downed one glass after another, and the food on the tables quickly disappeared, with servants continuously bringing new dishes.

"More!" The sound of breaking glasses echoed.

Many Asgardians, after finishing their drinks, tossed their bronze goblets to the floor and loudly demanded more wine. Fortunately, the goblets were made of bronze; otherwise, they would have long since shattered.

Fueled by drink, Volstagg enthusiastically recounted the story of how Thor and Noah defeated the Destroyer on Earth.

"I tell you, when the Destroyer crashed to the ground, it obliterated everything within a few kilometers, and then..." Volstagg spoke with great seriousness, even causing Thor to feel a bit uncomfortable.

"Wow, that's amazing!" Gwen listened, wide-eyed, believing every word.

"Volstagg, stop exaggerating! Everyone knows you love to embellish things!" someone laughed at his tale.

"Don't believe me? Here's the proof! Before you stands the greatest sorcerer of Midgard, who fought alongside Thor! Sorcerer, show us something! Demonstrate your power!" Volstagg, upset by the teasing, tried to draw attention to Noah. He couldn't allow his words to be questioned, even if he had exaggerated a bit.

Noah, enjoying Volstagg's stories, suddenly found himself in the spotlight. "The greatest sorcerer? When did I say that?" he thought, surprised.

"No, I can't. There are too many people here; it's embarrassing," Noah waved his hand, trying to avoid unnecessary attention.

"Don't be modest, sorcerer! Show them what you're capable of! Come on, everyone, cheer him on! Sorcerer! Sorcerer!" Volstagg started to chant, confident in Noah's abilities after their previous exploits.

"Sorcerer! Sorcerer!" others joined in, supporting Volstagg.

"Sorcerer! Sorcerer!" Even Gwen, caught up in the atmosphere, began to chant, surprising Noah a bit.

"Alright, since you all want to see it so badly," Noah raised his hand. He had just received some new spells today. "Since you want this so much, Volstagg, let's try it on you," he decided.

Noah pointed his finger, and a purple magical projectile, trailing green leaves, flew directly at Volstagg.

"What the..." Volstagg didn't finish as Noah's projectile struck him.

A white mist enveloped him, swirling with green leaves. A second later, the mist cleared, and gasps of surprise echoed.

"What's going on? Why is everyone so tall all of a sudden?" Volstagg was bewildered. He had just been hit by the sorcerer's spell, but he felt no pain. More surprisingly, people around him suddenly seemed taller.

"Oh my gosh, this is... too funny!" someone laughed, almost crying from amusement.

When the mist cleared, instead of the stout, golden-bearded figure of Volstagg, there stood a small, cute golden piglet.

"Volstagg, you're much cuter like this!" Fandral laughed, picking up the piglet by its front hooves. Volstagg shook violently, trying to break free.

"Put me down! Immediately!" Volstagg, realizing he'd been transformed into a piglet, began to squeal, but to others, his cries sounded like pig grunts.

"Oink oink! Oink oink!"

"Enough squealing, the spell will wear off soon," Noah assured him. He knew that only he and one other person could understand these squeals. That person was Frigga, Thor's mother, who stood nearby with a smile. She was also a witch, though this was barely touched upon in the films.

Volstagg would have stayed in this form longer if Noah hadn't decided to change him back. It all depended on the mage's will and proximity.

A few seconds later, the piglet was once again shrouded in mist, and when it cleared, Volstagg was back in his usual form, holding Fandral in a chokehold. Fandral immediately began apologizing, though with a smile.

"Sorry, sorry, I just wanted to tease you a little."

"You scoundrel! Sorcerer, turn him too!" Volstagg exclaimed.

But Noah just raised his hand and, addressing Volstagg, said:

"Try this first."
