Marvel : Endless Power

Chapter 8: Dive into Osborn Tower

Was this it? The true beginning of Iron Man? Rody sighed bitterly. His power was still far too weak. If Tony Stark was really in danger, all he could do was watch.

Would his presence—this small butterfly—disturb the timeline enough to alter Tony's fate? It wasn't likely, but Rody didn't dare take the risk.

"Can't you just cancel the trip?" Rody asked, his tone urgent. "This is a crucial moment. Tony, the Iron Man suit is a revolutionary breakthrough. It'll change the entire world!"

"Relax, Rody," Tony waved him off, still skimming through holographic blueprints. "This project won't be finished in a few months anyway. I'll be gone for just a few days."

Rody clenched his fists. He couldn't argue—this was how it happened. Tony would leave for Afghanistan, walk into an ambush, and return a changed man.

So, instead of pressing the issue, Rody continued his work as an "assistant." But his mind was racing. How could he stop Tony's capture without raising suspicion?

After another grueling day, watching Tony working tirelessly, Rody understood why Stark was a genius. It wasn't just about IQ—his sheer obsession with progress set him apart.

Looking at the prototype Mark I armor, another idea formed in Rody's mind. He thought of a different suit, a different piece of high-tech weaponry that could temporarily replace Stark's armor.

"I guess it all comes back to Osborn," he muttered.

The Goblin Glider and Goblin Armor—Norman Osborn's creations—might just be the perfect solution.

If he could get his hands on them, combined with his new stealth ability, he'd have a real shot at rescuing Tony before the Ten Rings could capture him.

Three Days Later

Tony Stark boarded his private jet to Afghanistan, leaving behind an unfinished miniature Arc Reactor.

The design was solid, but the output was unstable—it still needed fine-tuning. Tony, confident that the remaining work was routine, left without hesitation.

Rody sighed. Maybe if he had kept a lower profile, he could have stalled Tony for a few more days. But now, the timeline was moving forward.

There was no choice. His plan had to proceed.

As soon as Stark's jet disappeared into the horizon, Rody jumped into Tony's Audi R8 and sped toward Osborn Tower.

This time, there was no need to play the part of an office courier. Instead, Rody slipped into a shadowed alleyway, activated his stealth ability, and vanished.

He walked straight through the front doors of Osborn Tower, unseen by security.

Riding the express elevator to the 82nd floor, Rody recalled his last infiltration. He had mapped out the ventilation system, noting that the 82nd, 83rd, and 90th floors had separate air circulation units. That meant one thing—these were high-security zones.

The moment the elevator doors slid open, he was met with a dazzling array of high-tech machinery. The entire floor looked like a cross between Stark Industries' R&D lab and a SHIELD weapons facility.

This was Oscorp's experimental technology division. Scientists moved in and out, working on cutting-edge projects.

Unlike before, Rody was no longer clueless about the tech. After weeks of learning under Stark, he could immediately recognize the components scattered around.

His eyes locked onto a half-assembled prototype—the Goblin Glider.

Even at a glance, he could tell that multiple versions had been developed. There were subtle differences in propulsion systems and weapon mounts.

"This is it." Rody smirked. If he could steal Osborn's data, he could use it to refine Stark's designs even further.

He activated a micro-camera, scanning and recording every visible document. The research that cost Oscorp millions was now his.

But before he could celebrate his corporate espionage victory, the air in the room grew tense.

A door slid open, and in walked Norman Osborn.

For the first time, Rody saw the infamous Green Goblin before his transformation.

Unlike the deranged figure from the Raimi-era movies, this Norman Osborn radiated intellectual intensity. He was dressed sharply, eyes calculating—more like a ruthless CEO than a cackling supervillain.

But something was off.

Rody observed closely. Osborn had not yet injected the Goblin Serum. If he had, his paranoia and aggression would be far more unhinged.

Osborn moved swiftly, scanning data on the latest Goblin Glider prototype. Then, without a word, he grabbed a full set of experimental Goblin Gear and headed toward the private elevator.

Rody hesitated.

Should he steal the gear now? But just a Glider alone wouldn't be enough. He needed armor and weapons—without them, he'd be no match for the Ten Rings.

Steeling himself, Rody followed Osborn into the executive elevator, staying perfectly invisible.

They ascended to the 90th floor.

The moment the doors opened, Rody recognized it immediately—this was the Super Soldier lab.

In the center of the room stood a massive glass containment chamber—the very one where Norman Osborn would conduct his own experiment.

This was the exact moment history would change.

The Birth of the Green Goblin

Osborn's breathing grew ragged. He paced furiously, flipping through failed test results.

His thoughts were spiraling, his frustration mounting.

"Why is this happening?!" Osborn snarled, his voice trembling with rage. "The animal trials were flawless, but the human compatibility rate is—garbage!"

He slammed a fist onto the table, knocking over a stack of research files.

"No. I cannot lose the military contract. I just need to prove the serum works… I need a human subject."

Rody narrowed his eyes. This was it—the moment Norman Osborn would inject himself with the unstable Super Soldier Serum.

As if hypnotized by his own desperation, Osborn approached the glass chamber, where a single vial of shimmering green liquid awaited him.

Rody watched, conflicted.

Should he stop this?

Before Osborn became the Green Goblin, he was simply an ambitious scientist—a cold, calculating businessman, but not yet a villain.

If Rody interfered now, he could stop Osborn's descent into madness.

But that also meant changing the future.

No Goblin meant no personal war with Spider-Man. No revenge cycle for Harry Osborn. It would rewrite an entire legacy of hatred and tragedy.

For a moment, Rody hesitated.

Then, he smirked.

No need to be a coward.

He wasn't here to change the script.

He was here to take what he needed—then watch history unfold.
