Marvel DxD: The New Sorcerer Supreme

Chapter 80: Ch. 78 - The Great War! [15]

Thanks to Ajuka's unexpected reality or probability manipulation technique, me and him managed to last long enough for the Big Three to prepare their sealing runes.

They started from the bottom of Trihexa and slowly made their way up, countless characters and letters appearing on Trihexa's body and engraving on each of its scales.

On the other hand, me and Ajuka did our best to distract the Apocalypse Beast, going as far as getting close to its face just to prevent it from noticing the sealing runes creeping up to its body.

Albeit risky but very effective and combined with Ajuka's Kankara Formula, I haven't experienced death yet, which is a good sign.

"Can you still keep up?" Reuniting with Ajuka, he proceeded to ask me.

"I should be the one asking you that," I replied, on the surface, Ajuka looked calm and cautious but with the help of my senses, I could already tell that his reserves were already half.

Kankara Formula indeed consumes very little of his Demonic Energy however I noticed that it actually depends on how much of the natural phemonema that Ajuka wanted to manipulate.

Let's say for example, Trihexa's beam of destruction, if Ajuka wanted to manipulate it so it would miss the target, it would only consume little from his reserves but if he wanted to make something grand and completely cut off the beam of destruction, the Demonic Energy consumption would tenfold.

Hence, why Ajuka's reserves are running low fast.

A few of Trihexa's earlier moves caused him to take drastic measures and manipulate the probability of things to their extent.

"They're already halfway there. Warn me once your reserves are dangerously low." Nodding at my words, Ajuka raised his hand and the familiar greenish hue appeared on his palm, causing the spikes to miss the hem of my cloth.

"Watch your back," Ajuka said after.

Dammit, he sounds cool by saying that after saving me.

Refocusing on the Apocalypse Beast, I hovered near it, using my fast reaction and smooth reflexes to dodge several of its attacks.

With Ajuka's Kankara Formula, no attack can hit me, not even when I'm floating a few meters away from Trihexa's face.

Since my job is to buy them some time to finish their sealing preparations, I didn't have to do any counter-attacks that would just be a waste of my energy reserves, and just try to stay alive as long as possible.

However, I don't plan to leave this place unpaid. I want to see if I could somehow make use of Trihexa's blood, and scales and maybe obtain its DNA, if it has one.

For the next few hours, I flew around Trihexa, using little of my strength to pluck a few of its large scales and transfer it back to the Sanctum Sanctorum through the portal.

As for the blood, Trihexa doesn't seem to have one. When I used the HellSpires like how I did earlier, no blood seeped out when some of them pierced through its flesh.

Well, although there's no blood, Trihexa still has some flesh, so I shifted my focus from obtaining its blood to its flesh which didn't take me that much time to complete.

I don't know how much time has passed and I've already spent half of my reserves. If it wasn't for my fast energy recovery that could recover even when using it, my reserves would've long been depleted.

Just as another wave of tentacles came flying towards me, I was too occupied transferring some more scales that I snatched away from Trihexa, so I expected Ajuka to manipulate it again and cause Trihexa to miss.

However, right exactly at the moment, I heard his shout.

"Chamber! I ran out!"

Fuck!

Unfortunately for me, it was too late so I prepared myself for my inevitable death and respawn later on.

However, much to my surprise, instead of smashing me into pieces, the tentacles curled around my figure and tightened their grip on me.

"Oh no," I muttered to myself in horror as the tentacles slowly brought me toward Trihexa's mouth, threatening to swallow my entire existence and truly kill me.

The happening was too fast and it was only thanks to my Time Sense that I was able to see Ajuka trying to force himself to use the Kankara Formula to save me again.

Then there's also God, who has abandoned the Holy Bubble and teleports to my side to save me.

However, the Apocalypse Beast has long expected this and intercepted him by bringing countless more mountain-sized tentacles towards him, preventing God from saving me.

As for myself, I was trying my best too, even trying to use the Longinus's Temporal Lock ability in hopes that it would buy me enough time.

Unfortunately, Temporal Lock is only effective on beings that aren't stronger than me.

If they are, the lock would only delay them for a single second.

But in this case, Trihexa is not only stronger than me but a thousand times more so, rendering my Longinus ineffective against it.

'Shit! Shit! Shit!' Dread came over my face as I tried to brute force my way out of the tentacles, who had brought me to the center of Trihexa's mouth, a deep and dark hole that looked as if it could swallow even the universe itself.

I felt very helpless at this moment. Flashes of good memories appear in the back of my mind.

My small yet short interaction with my new devil friends, my recent dates with Serafall, a fiancee I didn't expect I would have, my students huddling up together in a single room as they wait for me to narrate them a bedtime story and then finally, the entire Earth flashed in front of my darkening vision.

I guess I failed at my job, huh? I didn't know being the Sorcerer Supreme and Humanity's protector would be this hard.

I thought I could just relax and imitate the Ancient One, holed up in Kamar-Taj, training a bunch of student sorcerers.

Instead, here I am. Falling to my death to the dark and deep abyss.

Maybe…Just maybe I should've used my time here to have a vacation and rest for as long as I wanted rather than trying to become someone I could barely become.

Now I feel like a child.

Alas. It was too late for regrets and I can't turn back the time in a place where the concept of time doesn't exist.

As I find myself falling deeper into the abyss, my ears have long muffled the sound of Ajuka's yells and God's roar in an attempt to save me.

I guess nobody was expecting this huh?

Closing my eyes, I ignored my senses going wild about me being in danger and my body shivering from sheer fear of death.

BAM!

It was the last thing I heard before Trihexa closed its mouth, sealing me off as its first lunch since its escape.

Feeling my consciousness fade away, I raised one more question in my mind.

I wonder how I taste? Surely, Trihexa won't be choosy and suddenly puke me out just because I taste bad, right?

That would look like something that came out of a comedy genre of an anime.

***

"CHAMBERRRRR!" Ajuka yelled at the top of his lungs, blood dripping out from his face orifices, as he forced himself to the Kankara Formula to try and make Trihexa spit out Chamber. However, as he was forcing himself to use the Kankara Formula while having his demonic energy reserves exhausted, his body automatically used another energy to power the technique.

The Life Force energy.

Ajuka felt his vision darkening as extreme exhaustion settled on his body and before he passed out, he saw Trihexa open its mouth and spit out large volumes of unknown liquid.

But before Ajuka could fall and forever lose himself in the endless space, a pair of arms caught his body.

"I don't know if I should call you an idiot for using your Life Force as a power source, forever damaging your soul, or commend you for your attempt to save a friend," Odin stated as his eyes scanned Ajuka's body and soul, seeing the exhausted on the body and cracks on the soul.

"Either way, take a rest and leave the rest to us." Odin then tapped the tip of his Gungnir Spear on Ajuka's forehead and soon, a rainbow-coloured light shone down on their figure and Ajuka's figure slowly vanished except for Odin.

A Bifrost, Norse's ultimate transportation that could bring anyone anywhere as long as the Bifrost Guardian can see the place.

It's quite similar to the portal except Bifrost can transport hundreds of people all at once and even has the capability to be used as a weapon of destruction.

Odin shifted his attention back to Trihexa who had been spitting out an acidic substance that made him, the Norse God King feel the burning sensation of the acidic liquid even though he was light years further.

While God was now serving as the distraction, Buddha on the other hand, continued the sealing runes, trying to finish it as fast as he can despite being alone.

Odin on the other hand, closed his eyes, spreading his senses forward towards the Apocalypse Beast's monstrous body.

He's currently searching for any life force inside the beast's body, in hopes that Chamber had miraculously survived.

Unfortunately, after seeing the acid being puked out, Odin shook his head.

If even he, a certified Major God, can feel the danger that the acidic liquid is emanating, Chamber miraculously surviving is not even worth mentioning.

It would be miraculous if Chamber would still have some remains left for them to recover after.

In the end, Odin simply bowed his head and gave a silent prayer to the young hero.

'God wasn't wrong about him. That Chamber kid is indeed a good devil.'
