Marvel DxD: The New Sorcerer Supreme

It would be a lie for me to say I wasn't expecting the Underworld to look similar to Earth except for the purple sky.

When Serafall first told me she'd take me to the Underworld, I was already bracing myself to stomach the sights of humans being tortured, blood and flames everywhere, along with red-skinned devils roaming the ground and the sky.

Instead of those things, what I'm currently looking at are a bunch of trees, grasses, and even some small but weird-looking animals that resemble bunnies and squirrels with a few distinctive features that separate their appearance from the aforementioned animals.

"What do you think?" I heard Serafall's question as she probably noticed the lost expression on my face and couldn't help but ask for my opinion about her home.

"…I feel like I'm still on Earth. Aside from the purple environment, I wasn't expecting Underworld to also have their own…nature and forest?" To be honest, this part was what surprised me the most. Devils back in my previous world, are known to be destructive and pure chaotic, seeking nothing but to take life in every path they come across.

"I know right? For your information, we, the Sitri family are one of the rarest Devil Pillars that preserves and appreciates nature, unlike some other Pillars who are disgusted with Nature because of, you know, Big G's creation and stuff."

"Alright enough talk about that, let's head directly to Ajuka's laboratory, oh and also, just to remind you, don't act like a human, not every devil is like me." With a final warning, a wing sprouted from her back which immediately gathered my attention.

"What the fuck?" I couldn't help but utter a curse in surprise.

"Hmm? Ohhh, I forgot to tell you but we Devils have wings for convenient travels. You have your own wings actually, just feel it in your gut and command it to come out, it should feel natural like moving a limb. Try it." Landing back down on the ground, Serafall guided me into sprouting my own wings.

It would be a lie for me to say I wasn't excited by the thought I could fly with my wings.

Thanks to Serafall, it only took a single minute for my wings to come out.

"There we go!" Smiling widely, Serafall looked at my behind and I noticed her smile quickly faltered slightly.

"W-Wha-!?" She muttered in shock.

"Why? What happened?" I asked in worry. Could it be there's something wrong with my wings? Maybe I only sprouted one wing? Or my wings are too small?

"Take a look for yourself." Saying this, she extended her hand, and a blue magical circle lit up which quickly prompted my inner sorcerer side to analyze them.

Unfortunately for me, the magical circle only lasted a second as a huge water stream magically appeared out in the middle of the magic circle and started to shape into a thin circular mirror in front of me.

Knowing her intention, I turned my back to face the mirror and looked behind me as I also stared at the mirror in shock.

Unlike Serafall's pitch-black wings, mine was also pitch-black except that there was a tinge of dark purple on its lower part. The most distinctive about mine compared to Serafall's was the fact that Serafall only had a single set of wings while mine had two sets.

In short, I have two wings on the left and right side.

"This is bad. You can't show your wings out there."

"What? Why? Are my wings uncommon?" I was confused. Could there be something wrong about my wings? Sure they were different from Serafall's but these are just wings, right?

"I'm sorry for asking this now but may I ask your name? Your full name?" Hearing her question, although confuses me, I still answered for the sake of hopefully clearing up any confusion there is towards my wings.

"Chamberlain Blake," I answered. It's an American surname, I know. Honestly, I have no idea what was going on in my parents' minds that made them name me after a title of a chief officer to a king's household, were they hoping that naming me Chamberlain would give them a child that meets their expectations?

"Chamberlain Blake…Blake. That's a pure human name, I don't remember anyone from the Underworld having that kind of surname. Maybe it's just a coincidence?"

"…I'm sorry for interrupting you, but do you mind explaining to me right now? I'm getting more and more confused as time ticks by."

"Well, how do I say this. Your wings aren't uncommon or something like that but there's someone I know who also has two sets of wings like you and aside from you, he's the only one with the two sets of wings in the Underworld."

"…And who is this guy you're talking about?" Slowly understanding Serafall's surprise earlier, I was now curious about who is the guy that Serafall was talking about.

"….I'm talking about the ruler of the devils and the underworld, Lord Lucifer." As if thunder had struck me, upon hearing the name, I was frozen in shock.

"Not even the other three Satans, have two sets of wings like Lucifer and you. That's why I was stunned and asked for your name earlier. I thought that the reason behind your four wings is that you're somehow related to Lord Lucifer, after all even his descendants only have a single set of wings."

Hearing the explanation, I finally understood the confusion. She's implying that the reason behind my two wings is because my heritage might be close or related to Lucifer, the king among the devils.

"Maybe you know the answer?" Serafall's next words made me think about it.

'Am I really related to Lucifer? But I just arrived here though.' Muttering under my breath, I tried my best to recall anything that would somehow relate me to Lucifer.

Taking notice of my dilemma, Serafall spoke.

"Well, let's not dwell too much about it, okay? Since there are no answers, we can just keep this between us. Don't worry, I keep my mouth tight shut!" Giving me a promise, my shoulders which I just noticed was tensed, finally relaxed.

"Now. As I said earlier, you can't show your wings to the public, so either we ride on a transport which takes around a whole day before arriving at Ajuka's laboratory or you can just furl the other set of your wings."

"Can't we just directly teleport inside his laboratory? Why do we have to go through all of these trouble?" Asking the question I've been wanting to ask, Serafall answered after a moment of thinking.

"Well, first of all, Ajuka has barricaded his laboratory and the surroundings with an anti-teleportation spell. As for why? Well, let's just say, whenever someone teleports to his labs would always interrupt him and his experiments, ever since then, he kept everyone from teleporting directly to his laboratory and its vicinity." Serafall embarrassingly scratches the back of her head as she replies.

"And I'm guessing that 'someone' refers to you." Crossing my arms, I watch as she shyly looks anywhere but mine.

"W-Well, Ajuka is the only friend I have in the middle of this war. Everyone else is either too focused on their own goals or wanted to win this war." Seeing her bowing her head down on the ground, I realized that Serafall was just seeking friendship, and was probably not her intention to annoy her only friend named Ajuka.

"I-I'm sorry, I didn't realize." It was my turn to be embarrassed but despite it, I still apologized to her.

"Hmm? It's okay." Serafall shook her head and responded in kind.

"If it makes you feel better. I want to be your friend." I offered and what I saw next made me speechless.

As if she was a cartoon character, she disappeared and appeared a few inches away from me with her face close to mine, a wide smile with a blush bears in her face as her eyes frantically looked at mine.

"R-Really?! Y-You'd be my friend?" She asked for confirmation, as if being her friend is a bad thing.

"Of course I will. In fact, I want to be more than just your friend."

"M-More than friend?" I see Serafall tilt her head sideways in confusion.

'How cute.' I muttered under my breath, I wasn't expecting someone who comes from a known evil race to be this adorable unless she's a succubus.

"Yeah, its called a Best Friend."

"Woah….Best Friend." Serafall muttered the new word she just learned with a dreamy expression in her face.

"How about it? Want to be Best Friends instead?" Smiling softly, I extended my hand forward to 'seal' the deal.

"If Best Friend is more than friends, then I want us to be more than Best Friends!" Imagining that friends are like ranks, Serafall assumed that there is something higher than Best Friend status.

"Thats…." I turned speechless, coughing and looking away from her to hide the small blush on my cheeks. There's indeed a more than Best Friend but that's an entirely new level!

"Maybe we should stick to Best Friends for now, okay? Anything more than that would be a bit too….beyond the boundary." Clearing my throat, I answered her professionally.

"Oh." Looking dejectedly, Serafall took a few seconds to recover and nod her head.

"Then let's become Best Friends! Someday, I want to be more than Best Friends, promise me that okay?" Slapping her hand in mine, we shook hands while I remained a bit dumbstruck.

"…I promise," I responded with a hint of slight hesitation.

"Okay then! Let's get back to the matter at hand!" More lively than before probably due to finally having a best friend, I nodded my head in response.

"I could try to furl the other wing set. Since it is part of my body, that means I have full control over it."

For the next few minutes, both Serafall and I tried several ways to furl the 2nd set, however no matter what we did, such as pulling it out, pushing it back inside my back and even going as far as trying to fold it in half but none of those worked!

"Maybe I could try this?" Having an idea, I furled my two sets of wings and tried unfurling it out again but this time, trying to only unfurling one set of wing.

"It worked!" I hear Serafall gasp in surprise.

Once again conjuring another water glass, I turned around and saw that my wings has indeed turned from two sets to one set!

"Well, should we go now?" I asked with a smile, excited that the problem has been solved and now I can experience what flying is like!

"Yes!" Though from Serafall's reaction, she seemed to be more excited than me who would be experiencing it for the first time.

Serafall started flying first, facing me, I heard her speak.

"Now, since you're technically new to flying and I'm not totally a flight instructor, I can only tell you what it felt like to me when I flew for the first time." I then nodded my head at her, prompting her to continue.

"First things first, I heard humans have quite a lot of fear, and among them is heights, so try not to look down while flying. Second, flying consumes your stamina so not every time you can maintain yourself in the air."

"Last but not the least, imagine yourself being lifted off from the ground. My mom told me that the technique to flying is imagining yourself as a small figure and a huge hand grabbed you and lifted you up. From there on, you'd sta-" Before she could even finish her sentence, I was already floating off from the ground, swerving around and trying my best to balance myself while in the air.

Technically, Serafall didn't provide any support as I'm quite adept when it comes to imagining things. After all, how else would you be able to cast spells and conjure portals without incantations?

So with a simple imagination of me flying like Superman, I was now off to the skies, feeling the gush of wind slapping my face.

"This feels wonderful." Unbeknownst to myself, I continued ascending to the skies all while spreading my arms widely, as if trying to hug the entire world!

A few meters down from me, I failed to notice Serafall staring at my floating figure with a complicated expression.

In Serafall's eyes, a certain someone's figure is slightly overlapping with mine.

"Is he really not related to Lord Lucifer?" After muttering this to herself, she shook her head and continued.

"That's impossible. After all, he was a human and I just turned him into a devil earlier."
