Chapter 199: Chapter 199: Gathering of the Strong
Since the setting was in the general store, the possibility of enemies sneaking in was virtually zero. As a result, Han Yu was completely relaxed while inside, with no sense of vigilance whatsoever.
When Ultron and Quicksilver approached him, Han Yu hadn't noticed at all, which was why he was startled.
"Boss, you're creating a new faction and inviting Thor and Captain America?" Quicksilver asked.
Han Yu nodded.
"What the hell? You didn't tell me about this! I want in!" Quicksilver exclaimed, his eyes widening in shock. "We're your best employees, and you didn't think to include us?"
"He's right," Ultron said calmly, his emotionless gaze steady as ever.
Han Yu chuckled helplessly and replied, "I just hadn't gotten around to telling you yet. If I'm forming a new faction, of course, you two are coming with me."
Quicksilver and Ultron were powerhouses. Either of them, standing alone, would be among the top-tier elites on Earth—or even across the galaxy. How could Han Yu possibly leave them out?
Before Han Yu could say more, Quicksilver, brimming with excitement, blurted, "I want the position of corps commander! Oh, not your position, Boss—just a division commander will do. I think with my abilities, that's not asking too much."
In the past, Quicksilver might have been too shy to make such a request, but now, he had every reason to say it.
Lately, he had been maintaining a peculiar yet consistent routine—a "three-point schedule," as he called it.
It involved rotating between the storage room, the gaming lounge, and his bedroom. His daily routine consisted of practicing his superpowers in the storage room for one to two hours in the morning, gaming in the lounge until the afternoon, and going to bed around ten or eleven at night.
This strange but "productive" schedule had allowed Quicksilver to balance both his superpower training and his gaming hobby quite well. Han Yu had noticed his efforts.
Looking at Quicksilver's smug expression, it was clear that confidence made a person bold.
Han Yu smiled and said, "Don't rush it. I've already called everyone I wanted to gather. Once they're all here, we'll discuss everything in detail."
"By the way, is everything with Hulk resolved?"
Even though the system at the general store had notified him of the mission's completion, and he trusted Ultron to handle it, Han Yu still wanted to confirm the aftermath.
"It's been handled. Hulk has stabilized and reverted to Banner. He confirmed that the Laughing Virus is completely gone from his body, so I sent him home to rest. As for the remaining doses of the cure, I delivered them to Rogers," Ultron replied.
"Good. That's all I needed to hear," Han Yu said with a nod.
He didn't need to know more. Ultron's meticulous nature left no room for error. After all, strictly speaking, Ultron wasn't truly human—he was a supercomputer with a human-like body.
With that, the three of them headed to the dining area and prepared a large table for everyone to sit around and discuss matters.
Ten minutes later, people started arriving one by one.
Just as they were getting ready, the space near them rippled like water, creating wave-like patterns that spread outward. Moments later, Thor and Loki emerged from the distortion.
"Han, this business card you gave us is amazing—it lets us teleport to Earth with just a thought," Loki called out, his voice arriving before he did.
Han Yu chuckled, walking up to greet them with a handshake. "How's Asgard? Hela hasn't led another invasion into other realms, has she?"
As soon as he finished speaking, a cold and noble voice came from the spatial ripple behind Thor and Loki.
"Talking behind someone's back isn't very polite, you know."
Han Yu froze for a moment and shifted his body to get a better look behind Thor. The spatial ripple that had appeared when they arrived hadn't disappeared yet. Just as he was about to investigate, a slender, snow-white leg stepped through, followed by a figure walking gracefully out.
It was Hela!
To his surprise, Hela had heard his earlier comment. Han Yu let out a few awkward laughs and asked, "Why are you here?"
"What? Am I not welcome?"
Hela's cool, autumn-like eyes swept over Han Yu. She no longer carried the menacing aura of mindless violence that she once did. Instead, it was replaced by a regal and commanding presence.
Every glance, every subtle smile of hers radiated an almost overwhelming majesty that demanded attention and awe.
This kind of aura couldn't be faked—Han Yu would've noticed immediately if it were. But what he sensed now was real. It was clear Hela had fully embraced her role as the Queen of Asgard, a far cry from the war-driven executioner who once rampaged across the Nine Realms.
As a ruler, she could no longer carry an air of unbridled aggression. Otherwise, others would mistake her for a reckless fool on the throne rather than a dignified leader.
"Of course, you're welcome. Please, have a seat," Han Yu said with a smile, quickly composing himself and displaying his signature grin.
Hela studied his face for a few seconds before letting out a soft snort. She then gestured for Thor and Loki to find seats, leading the way herself.
About five minutes later, two more individuals entered the room—Captain Steve Rogers and Bucky Barnes.
Both were dressed casually. Despite being in their nineties, their outfits were sharp and stylish. Combined with their already impressive looks, their presence stood out even more.
"Han, we're not late, are we?" Steve asked with a warm smile, extending his hand.
Han Yu smiled and shook hands with both of them. "Not at all. Everyone's just arrived. Go ahead, find a seat, and we'll get started."
Steve and Bucky nodded and found seats at the table.
Once everyone had arrived, Han Yu, sitting at the head of the table, cleared his throat. The quiet murmurs in the room quickly died down, and all eyes turned to him.
"The purpose of gathering everyone here today is to officially establish the Green Lantern Corps and assign roles to each of you. With the current number of people, forming three to five divisions is entirely feasible," Han Yu began, intertwining his fingers and resting his chin on them, his gaze sharp.
"First, let me lay out the rules:
Abuse of power will not be tolerated. Punishments will be dealt with based on the severity of the violation. Minor offenses will result in confinement or the temporary loss of powers. Severe offenses will lead to immediate execution.
Internal conflicts that endanger the lives of team members are strictly forbidden.
Acting without prior approval is allowed, but the outcome must be reviewed by Steve Rogers, who will determine whether it was justified."
Han Yu then turned to Steve and continued, "Speaking of which, Steve Rogers will serve as the Arbiter, responsible for evaluating the actions of the Green Lantern Corps and judging the outcomes of all missions. Any objections?"
Steve, slightly taken aback, shook his head. "No objections."
He hadn't expected to be assigned such an important role right off the bat. Though the Green Lantern Corps was newly formed and still small, Steve could sense that this position wasn't something just anyone could hold.
Han Yu's rules were straightforward—three simple points. The first two served as restrictions, while the third was a mix of restriction and leniency.
