Martian Archer

Chapter 38: Hugo's Condition

Leon ran.

His legs burned, his lungs screamed for air, but he didn't stop.

Klein was escaping.

He sprinted through the wreckage of the battlefield, dodging collapsed structures and broken weapons. Smoke and dust filled the air, but his eyes were locked ahead.

Then he saw him.

Lying against a crumbling wall—Hugo.

Leon's breath hitched.

Blood pooled beneath him, staining the dirt red. His spear was buried in the ground beside him, his body battered and bruised.

Leon skidded to a stop, dropping to his knees.

"Hugo!"

Hugo coughed, smirking despite the pain. "Took you long enough."

Leon's hands hovered over his wounds. "What the hell happened?!"

Hugo winced, shifting slightly. "That bastard… Klein… he got away."

Leon clenched his fists. Damn it.

"I almost had him," Hugo continued, his voice weaker. "But then… his armor…"

Leon's eyes narrowed. "Armor?"

Hugo nodded. "Titanium-based. It's not just for protection it's rigged. Even if he's not wearing it, it can still self-destruct."

Leon's stomach sank.

If Klein had one last bomb up his sleeve

They were still in danger.

Leon grabbed Hugo's arm, throwing it over his shoulder. "We need to get you out of here."

Hugo grunted but didn't resist. "Be careful, Leon… that guy's not done yet."

Leon's jaw tightened.

He already knew.

Klein had gotten away.

But this fight

Was far from over.
