Martian Archer

Chapter 33: Pointless Warning

The academy buzzed with tension as students prepared for the restart of the exam. Teams gathered in designated areas, adjusting their equipment and strategizing. Yet, while others focused on survival, Leon's mind was locked on one thing—

Klein.

That man wasn't just some corrupt staff member. He was a dangerous traitor. And no one else seemed to realize it.

Leon clenched his fists as he approached his team's waiting area, where Goro and Rei were already assembling their gear.

"We need to talk."

Goro glanced up, raising an eyebrow.

"You look tense, kid."

Rei barely acknowledged him, adjusting the strap on her sword.

Leon took a breath, trying to keep his voice steady.

"It's about Klein."

Goro sighed.

"What about him?"

Leon stepped closer.

"He's not who he says he is. He's working with the terrorists who attacked the exam."

Goro blinked, then let out a short laugh.

"Come on, Leon. That's a serious accusation."

"I'm not joking."

"Neither am I," Goro said, crossing his arms. "You're saying one of the academy's respected staff members is a traitor? You realize how crazy that sounds?"

Leon's frustration flared.

"I overheard him talking! He said he wants to destroy the academy, that peace is an illusion."

Rei finally spoke up, her voice cold.

"And?"

Leon turned to her.

"And?! He's dangerous! We can't trust him!"

Rei adjusted the sheath on her hip.

"Even if you're right, it doesn't change anything. We need to focus on the exam."

Leon gritted his teeth.

"You don't get it. If Klein's involved, this exam could be a trap!"

Goro let out a deep sigh and shook his head.

"Leon, I get that you're nervous. But right now, our priority is passing. If you're that worried, tell an instructor."

Leon exhaled sharply.

"I tried. No one will believe me without proof."

Rei met his gaze, her dark eyes unreadable.

"Then get proof. Until then, I don't care."

Leon clenched his fists.

This was useless.

No one was listening.

The announcement blared over the academy's loudspeakers.

> All participants, report to your designated exam zones. The test will begin shortly.

Goro stretched his arms with a grunt.

"Guess that's our cue."

Rei silently grabbed her sword.

Leon, still fuming, slung his bow over his shoulder.

" Fine. If they won't believe me now, I'll find proof myself."

The three walked toward the transport shuttles, where groups of students were gathering.

Above them, drones hovered in the air, recording everything.

The second exam was about to begin.

And Leon wasn't just fighting to pass.

He was fighting to uncover the truth.
