Martial Peak: Chaos Dragon Emperor

Chapter 89: Ch 89: Heavenly Infernus Spear

In a dim lighted room build from stones, Yang Feng was standing in front of a furnace that had grayish colored flames burning in it. In Yang Feng's hand was a what looked like a long handle that was about 1.9 meters long, with one side of it inside the furnace.

Yang Feng pulled out the side of the handle he was holding, revealing a blade that was about 0.5 meters long. Seeing the current shape of the hot reddened blade, Yang Feng placed it on an anvil. He then grabbed a hammer placed next to the anvil and raised it above his head before bringing it down on the blade with swift and precise movement, showcasing his obvious familiarity with the process.

Once the hammer touched the blade, it produced a loud but pleasent hum that reverberated, but it didn't stop there as hum continued for at least a hundred times in just a second. Yang Feng again raised his hand and struck the blade in another place with the hammer.

He repeated the process a few more times, sometimes striking a spot a few times while sometime striking a spot only one time. After a few strikes, he raised the blade to his eye level and observed the blade in detail. A few seconds later, he nodded to himself in satisfaction and cooled down the blade before observing it again for a few minutes.

He was currently refining a spear for himself as his previous one was broken. He didn't make a new one previously as he didn't have any suitable material to make one, but during the last few months since he started traveling with Meng Wu Ya and the two women, he had gathered many materials, herbs and other treasures.

he gained the last of the material he wanted for his spear, when he arrived in this city's refiner association and he immediately booked a forge in it to start the refinement. Yes, there is a refiner association in this world as well as an array association, though they weren't shown or talked about in the original, except for that one time in shadowed star.

"*Hmm*, perfect. Now that this step is done...", Yang Feng spoke to himself and moved to the other side of the room. He then placed the spear on a wide table and took out a few things from his inventory.

Yang Feng looked at the spear as he grabbed a small jade bottle from the table, ' A Peak-Saint Grade Star Ore along with the Peak Spirit Grade Refined Tempest Steel from the previous spear, Saint Grade Demon Blaze Ore, Saint Grade Gold Petal Sword Stalk, Tier 7 Golden Clawed Tiger Bone, Tier 7 Golden Clawed Tiger Beast Core and..'

"the Blood Essence of a Flood Dragon. With all this the spear should become a Peak Saint Grade Artifact. If I am lucky, it might even reach the Saint King Grade.", Yang Feng then opened the bottle and used his soul strength to extract half of the blood essence from the bottle, suspending it in the air.

After putting the rest back into his inventory, he started making different handsigns at great speed. As he did so, different runes started to appear around the spear. The runes then combined into various arrays and the blood essence then started to enter the arrays and into the spear.

This was a method Yang Feng made while learning from the experience of the refiner knowledge in his mind and combining it with one he had read about in his previous life, enchanting.

Currently, he was using his spiritual energy into making small arrays that would strengthen the spear and add a few functions to it, while also adding the flood dragon blood essence to the arrays, which made the arrays more robust and permanent, and the spear, to enhance it's strength beyond what was possible with just the material.

The process took him a few hours as he had to make the arrays by combining various runes and then properly integrate the blood essence in the array, before making them perfectly absorbed by and integrating with the spear.

Once he was done, the spear glowed in a golden red light and he looked at his handiwork with satisfaction.

The spear's Handle/shaft was made from the Refined Tempest Iron and the Gold Petal Sword Stalk, while it's Hilt was made from the Golden Clawed Tiger Bone mixed with the iron, the two(shaft and hilt) had many intrecate patterns inscribed on them, which were the manifestation of the runes Yang Feng had inscribed on them.

Its Core and Blade was made with star ore along with the demon blaze ore. Red colored jewels shone on four intersections of it which were the refined form of the Golden Clawed Tiger's Beast Core which would act as a source and Qi Medium for the spear.

And now after the enchantment was finished, the spear gained a redish hue with small, light flame and dragon scale patterns on it's shaft. The spear excluded a feiry and sharp aura with a luminous glint to it.

Yang Feng gently grabbed the spear and immediately felt a sense of connection with it. He felt it as an extension of himself, which happened because of his high attainment in Spear Arts. He sighed in satisfaction as he felt the sensation and waved the spear around a few times.

"Heavenly infernus Spear." {How's the name? Also pic in discord.}

After a few minutes of inspection and trial, Yang Feng went out the forge, taking his equipment with himself. After exiting the forge, he found himself in the hallway of the main hall of the Refiner Association.

He then greeted a young man, who stood at the reception table, that was looking at him with excitement and awe. Why you ask? Well, when Yang Feng was traveling around with Meng Wu Ya for the past 9 months, he thought why not gather a bit of fame and applied for a Saint Grade Artifact Refiner evaluation 3 months ago.

The result of which was him refining a High Saint Grade Artifact that stunned the five Saint Grade Refiners and they immediately gave him the title of Grandmaster. So Yang Feng was quite famous in the Refiner Circle.

After telling the young man that he was done with the refinement and the forge is empty, Yang Feng left. He then went to the inn where his three companions were staying for the moment and went to his room.

Shortly afterwards, Su Yan and Xia Ning Chang entered his room and sat down on either side of his bed, on which he had laid down. Yang Feng smiled seeing the two and gently pulled the two into his embrace, onto the bed.

The girls didn't resist and laid down next to him. Su Yan then asked with one of her hands on his chest, "did you finish your refinement, Feng'er." Yang Feng smiled as he looked at the slightly pink faced Xia Ning Chang who had her face buried in his chest, as his arm was wrapped around her willow waist. No matter how much time the two spent together, she would still get embarrassed with a little show of intimacy.

He shifted his gaze to Su Yan, still smiling as he combed his hand through her long silky hair and answered, "Yeah, it was a success. With all the material and another method of my refining, I was barely able to push the spear to the Low-Saint King Grade."

Su Yan smiled and sighed in satisfaction as Yang Feng slowly caressed down her spine with a ghosty touch. Hearing his words she said in joy," that's wonderful... *Giggle* Now you won't complain about not having a spear during your battles."

Yang Feng narrowed his eyes a bit at her teasing, 'did I really complain about it ... *Ugh* guess I did, but....' with a mischievous grin he leaned into her ear and spoke in a low and husky voice, "oh really now? I think there's someone who shouts VERY loudly while enjoying our battles, especially when I use my 'spear'."

Su Yan blushed up a storm at this and looked at him back at him with narrowed eyes. Yang Feng thought internally, 'she looks like a cat that got stepped on it's tail.' but he didn't dare say that out loud. He still cherished his life, thank you very much.

After that little episode, the three just laid on the bed and talked about random stuff when Xia Ning Chang asked curiously, "what are your next plans, junior Brother, Sister Su?"

Yang Feng thought about it for a moment and said, "I don't have anything to do in particular." While Su Yan also answered similarly.

"Hmm.", Xia Ning Chang nodded, seeming thoughtful. Yang Feng and Su Yan looked at each other and back at her before Su Yan asked, "what are you thinking about, Ning Chang?"

Xia Ning Chang came out of contemplation and told them, "just something master told me about. He said that a Martial Arts Competition will be held in the next city we will be visiting, where youths from all over the Tong Xuan Realm might be present, with the final reward being a Saint Grade Artifact."

Yang Feng and Su Yan were surprised at this as Yang Feng asked, " a Saint Grade Artifact for a little competition? Are you sure that Old Meng's age hasn't caught up to his thinking."

Su Yan light swatted the side of his chest at his unnecessary remark. Xia Ning Chang also shook her head lightly at that. No matter how much the two interacted and helped each other, Yang Feng and Meng Wu Ya would still have their little barters among or random insults against each other.

"He told me that this was a type of a traditional competition that that city holds every hundred years and for every great realm there's a separate division. The reward of the Saint Grade Artifact is for the Transendant Realm division.", Xia Ning Chang told the two.

Yang Feng finally understood. If it was a traditional competition and was held after a hundred years, then the reward was reasonable. He also concluded that the artifact was probably a Low Saint Grade Artifact.

He looked at Su Yan and asked, "what do you think?", to which she answered after a moment of thinking," There's no problem in taking part in it. I mean, you don't really need the artifact, so you can join for just the fun of it and gain some experience from this competition while testing your new weapon."

After hearing her Explanation, Yang Feng who was too bored for sometime because of not having any fights, decided that it wasn't a bad idea at all, 'I could really use some muscle stretching.'

When the three left his room after a few hours, they met up with Meng Wu Ya and informed him about the his decision to take part in the competition. A day later, they left the city and went towards their next destination.

After a little more than a week of traveling, they reached the next city. As they walked around the city, looking for an inn. They saw how the city seemed a bit crowded, no doubt because of the competition.

After getting some rest in their rooms, they went and registered Yang Feng into the tournament. They were then informed that the competition would start in a few days and so the group returned to their rooms to rest.
