Chapter 321: Bulwark Form
Hearing his master's scream, Zachary roared like a wounded animal and punched towards Kiernan.
Kiernan barely managed to put a guard up, but the punch hit his arms like a sledgehammer, and he stumbled backwards, the force knocking the wind out of him.
The blood flowed down from his forearm as the scratch wounds were deeper than he initially thought.
'Tight Binding!'
Kiernan tensed his right arm's muscles and forced the wounds to close using his supernatural strength.
The blood stopped flowing, but his arm had turned crimson from the blood.
At that moment, Zachary swung his forefinger, scratched it across Kiernan's waist, and cut him deep.
SPURT!
The blood spewed so much that it seemed like he was just cut by a knife and not a finger!
"He is bleeding so much!"
Julia cried out in worry as it clearly looked like the pace of the match changed once more.
They thought that they had seen everything Zachary was capable of doing, but yet again, he pulled out something ridiculous from his sleeve!
"…"
Coach Jin's eyes shook.
It was not fun to watch the match.
At first, it looked like Kiernan would cruise to victory by crushing another opponent of his, but his opponent, Zachary, always pulls something out that changes the pace of the match.
It was annoying!
He feared that at any point now, Kiernan might lose, and their dream of winning the championship would be crushed.
'Come on, you can do it, Kiernan!'
With Tight Binding, Kiernan closed his waist's bleeding wound, but while he focused on that, a punch headed his way.
"Rendering Edge!"
Kiernan slapped the punch away, but at the same time, his wounds on his waist and forearm ruptured.
Tight Binding stopped working, and he started bleeding once more!
'Shit… I need to focus so much on Tight Binding to keep my wounds closed that it will split my focus. That punch almost hit me because I was so focused on closing my wounds.
'That's not good. That punch should've never been that close to hitting me.'
Kiernan thought with a cold look and evaded Zachary's scratching attacks, but while doing so, he used Tight Binding once more to close the wounds.
He now had to split his attention between the wounds to make sure that he wouldn't suddenly stop tightening his muscles so that the wounds wouldn't re-open.
33 percent of his attention was on the waist wound. Another 33 percent of his attention was on the forearm wound, and the last 34 percent was on Zachary.
He couldn't just let those wounds bleed and weaken him further.
'I can't let his scratch attacks wound me anymore!'
Kiernan moved to his attacking stance.
It took only half a second for him to think everything through before making his next move.
With a dash, Kiernan crossed the distance and came across Zachary's punch, but he swiftly sidestepped it and tossed a few jabs of his own, landing a solid hit on Zachary's chin.
Thwack! Thwack!
"?!"
Zachary frowned and swung his arm at Kiernan, but he ducked underneath it and kicked him in the knee.
Zachary stumbled back, wincing in pain.
"Let's go, Kiernan!"
Jonathan and Dominic shouted and clapped their hands loudly.
"Hit-and-run tactic?"
Coach Jin said in surprise.
He didn't expect Kiernan to resort to such tactics, but it meant that his opponent was so powerful that he had to resort to unorthodox methods to win.
'You can do scratching attacks? So can I!'
Kiernan raised his right arm, showing all five fingers, and then swung them towards Zachary's chest.
"Iron Style, Majestic Lacerator!"
The five fingers cut through Montclair High's jersey, slicing it straight through, and made contact with the flesh below that.
However, the five slashes were shallow and barely broke the skin.
"Huh?"
Kiernan's eyes shook.
"Is this how you do it?"
Zachary said out loud while tensing up his muscles to make his body like a rock.
'That is… basically Tight Binding but he used it on his entire body?'
Kiernan's eyes shook.
"My master taught me this while we were at the boarding school of Gaul. To use my muscles to their full potential, he showed me this technique."
Out of arrogance, he hadn't used this technique yet in the tournament, but now, knowing that he was already close to losing, he didn't want to hold back any longer.
"This technique is called Bulwark Form!"
Zachary said with a grin.
'It felt like I tried slashing through a riot shield. I know how that feels, so I know for a fact that the feeling was very similar.
'I don't think I have enough finger strength to do any more techniques with them. My body is still lacking, so I must resort to striking only.'
Kiernan thought with a sigh and moved to his striking stance.
While watching the match at the sidelines, Sabbath frowned at the mention of Bulwark Form. It was something he had heard about.
'I know Bulwark's are a tribe from the North, who are using dangerous Bulwark Style. It is something that only they are capable of using.
'Since they were babies, they had been exposed to power drugs and are the only people in the world capable of handling the destructive power of those drugs.
'That's why they're among the most dangerous tribes in the world. It's not fair to call me tribe either anymore. They're basically their own civilization at this point.
'Is this Alabaster one of Bulwark's? Can't be. He doesn't look like any of those half-giant muscle monsters.'
Sabbath crossed his arms and looked past the fight and straight towards Alabaster. He had quite a few questions he'd like to ask him.
As if he could sense that gaze, Alabaster looked back at Sabbath and frowned after seeing his unwavering gaze.
'Isn't he Karuza High's assistant coach? Why is that trash looking in my direction?'
Alabaster thought with a frown.
"Heh."
At that moment, Sabbath smirked and stopped hiding his true strength.
He masterfully controlled the flow of his overflowing aura and made it so that aura only made its way towards Alabaster, so that no one else could tell his real strength.
"?!"
Alabaster's eyes shook at the sight of Sabbath's strength.
'Why the hell is a monster like him here?'
