Marrying The Elf Queen In The Apocalypse

Prologue

In the heart of a war-torn city, the air was thick with smoke and the acrid scent of burning buildings. Arthur stood atop a ruined skyscraper, looking at the destruction brought by the Third Cataclysm.

The city was overrun with Void Creatures, their grotesque forms tearing through what remained of human resistance. Whoever tried to get in their way had their body shredded into pieces by the terrifying fangs of Voidborns. Arthur looked at everything with an indifferent gaze.

His once playful green eyes were now dulled by the countless deaths he had witnessed. Everyone close to him was already dead, leaving him alone to fight the Overlord of Voidborns.

Suddenly, a hand fell on his shoulder as he turned around.

Elara Vaeloria stood at his side. Her ethereal beauty was marred by battle scars, but her eyes still shone with the fierce determination that had earned her the title of Elf Queen. She grasped Arthur's hand, her touch a reassuring anchor amidst the chaos.

The touch that would have calmed Arthur in any situation didn't work as he simply sighed, "I'm sorry, Ela. I couldn't protect you or anyone."

The whole Elferia, the world of Elara, was already destroyed. Even Earth had been completely destroyed except for this last city they were fighting in. Once the Third Cataclysm descended, it brought pure destruction to both worlds.

"Well, you're a failure, after all," Elara chuckled.

Arthur looked at her and shook his head, "Seriously! You wanna joke in this situation?"

"We're dying anyway. What's the point of being depressed? We will just unite with others. What? Don't tell me you aren't excited to meet your lovers?" Elara said, casting a side-eye glance at him.

"Aye! You're right. Atleast now I'll be able to be with you guys. Guess death isn't that bad," Arthur smiled wryly as he remembered some faces and then how they had died.

"Art, you did your best. I did my best. That's all we can do," Elara said, taking a step forward, "But there's one thing we still need to do."

A crazed smile appeared on Arthur's face as he unsheathed his two swords and also stepped forward.

"Yeah, I need to give that bastard something he'll remember his whole life."

Elara smiled and took out her spear, which also worked as her Wand. Their bodies were covered in a strange black mist as they dived into the Endless horde of the Voidborns.

"The Angel From Hell is here! We still have hope!"

"The Elf Goddess is also here! We have a chance. Fight!"

"Haha! I'll tear these bastards so much even their ancestors wouldn't recognise them."

The survivors of Earth and Elferia, who were fighting their last battle, cheered and began to fight with even more determination. They knew it was their last battle, but the sheer presence of Arthur and Elara was enough to give them hope.

Their clash became relentless and brutal as they fought with the desperation of those who had nothing to lose. If they lost this city, there would be no place for them to hide anyway.

Arthur's sword, imbued with the essence of both worlds, cleaved through the Void Creatures with deadly precision. Elara's magic danced around them, a symphony of light and shadow that tore through their enemies. The two were like angels of death who were ordered to bring salvation to the Voidborns.

Not a single Voidborn could get close to them, and even the terrifying Void Lords were getting killed as if they were mobs. This was the power of someone who stood at the peak of humanity and Elferia.

However, they both knew it wasn't enough. Soon, they reached the centre of the Endless Horde, where the Overlord, the Emperor of the Voidborns, waited for them.

The Overlord of the Voidborns was an imposing and malevolent figure whose very presence exuded an aura of dread and immense power. He stood tall, his form both humanoid and alien, with an ethereal and cosmic quality.

His body was muscular and covered in sleek, dark armour that seemed to be part of his skin. This armour shimmered with a faint, otherworldly glow, reflecting the stars and voids from which he drew his power.

Surrounding him was a dark, swirling aura filled with the whispers of the void. It pulsates with an ominous energy, a tangible representation of the corruption he brings everywhere he goes.

"So you two brats have finally decided to come, huh."

His voice sounded from everywhere as his gaze locked onto them. Anyone else would have their spirit crushed under the suffocation of his pressure, but the couple were different.

"Is your mind empty like your whole body? You're the one who came to us, oversized brat," Arthur spat and mocked the Overlord.

"Whatever!"

The Overlord didn't even bother chatting with them as he simply raised his hand and pointed his finger at them. A black beam of pure darkness formed on his fingertips and shot at the duo.

"Let's go. I'll stick this spear in his ass atleast one time before dying," Elara grinned as she faced the beam of darkness head-on.

Arthur laughed and attacked the Overlord. However, they had clearly underestimated the Overlord. He was tired of dealing with them again and again, so this time, he didn't hold back.

Before the duo could react, the beam of darkness fell on them, obliterating their soul and body.

The Overlord didn't feel anything upon killing them, as they were just ants to him. However, then his expression changed as he looked far into the distance.

"Ah! So once again, huh. Heh, let's see if you can do better next time, brat!"
