Chapter 3
Feng Chilie was sitting at the table, he glanced at the terrible-smelling baggage in front of him. He poured himself a strong wine and drank it.
“How did they run away?” he asked.
The deputy commander’s legs were trembling; his appearance exactly matched the new soldiers when they faced the general.
He stammered, “I, I, I, I don’t know. When the soldiers went… to take their turns. They found the two soldiers who guarded first were knocked unconscious. The people inside the carriage were missing, only this baggage was left.” The deputy commander simply wanted to die, why did he take them to a restaurant!
It would be better for them to be hungry and waited outside the General’s Mansion with the carriage.
Now, this meal was a last meal before dead.
The deputy commander looked carefully at Feng Chilie’s expression; he saw the man was looking outside the window. He didn’t know what the general was thinking.
After a long time, Feng Chilie knocked on the table with his neatly manicured nails and said, “Jiang Che, has the Wolf Eagle Cavalry been tired recently? How come you didn’t even guard a sick man who couldn’t kill a chicken!”
Finished.
Jiang Che’s heart jumped wildly, then he heard Feng Chilie spoke in a calm voice.
“Pass the order, Wolf Eagle Cavalry will train another hour every day.”
“… Yes.”
Jiang Che withdrew helplessly.
After Jiang Che left, Feng Chilie stood up from his wheelchair. He walked into a wall, opened a secret compartment and took out a portrait from it.
The painting was none other than the young prince who escaped from the marriage – Tan Chuyan.
To be honest, Tan Chuyan’s ability to escape under Wolf Eagle Cavalry was quite a surprise. The Wolf Eagle Cavalry was inherited by Feng Chilie from the old general. Their soldier was much stronger than ordinary army. They could battle one against three with ease.
But now, two soldiers couldn’t guard a sick man, they were knocked unconscious.
Interesting, really interesting.
Feng Chilie stared at the person in the portrait, he traced the eyebrow, nose and lips with his fingers.
It seemed that this sick young man was far from being innocent and harmless. Maybe, he was a bad man with a black heart.
As soon as he ran away, many people were slapped by him.
.
.
“Your highness, I don’t think this is right. We shouldn’t leave like this!”
In the restaurant Tianbao poured a cup of tea to soothe Tan Chuyan’s throat after his nap.
Even though, it was two hours since they escaped. His little heart was still hanging on his throat.
Who would have thought that the prince would take him away to escape from the wedding!
The prince just ran away casually and he still slept peacefully!
Tan Chuyan rubbed the edge of the teacup with his pale and thin fingers, then gently shook the cup until the water was swirling inside like a whirlpool.
He stared at it and his eyebrows were curved, “Tell me, what is wrong with you?”
“First, if the king knows about this, I’m afraid he will get angry. Secondly, I heard General Feng is an ancestor we shouldn’t mess around, especially with his broken leg. He must be very angry. Thirdly, the Jing royal family attaches great important to this general. What should we do if they send troops again because of this?”
“Only these three points?” Tan Chuyan glanced at Tianbao.
Tianbao raised his three fingers and nodded strongly, “This is already a lot!”
Tan Chuyan picked up the teacup and took a few sips. His slightly dry lips instantly became moisturized.
“These three points are not something to be afraid of.” Tan Chuyan said, “first, Tan Hongyun will be angry, so what? I’m in Jing Kingdom right now, can he come over and punish me? Moreover, it would be best if he dies, Qi Kingdom needs a wise king.”
Tan Chuyan restrained the sharpness inside his eyes, “Secondly, Feng Chilie will be angry but I’m not afraid. His anger would be directed to the Wolf Eagle Cavalry.”
The Wolf Eagle Cavalry was Feng Chilie’s pride and the Jing Kingdom’s best troops. But now, they couldn’t even look after a sick person. This General Feng’s face must be swollen.
Tan Chuyan stood up and opened the window, rested his arms on the windowsill and looked at the capital of Jing Kingdom, “Thirdly, you can rest assure that Jing Kingdom won’t start another war with Qi Kingdom.”
Although, Jing Kingdom won great victory in this battle but it was still a kingdom who had been fighting a war. Their vitality must be damaged.
Moreover, Jing Kingdom was located in the northwest. There is shortage of food and grass in the winter, so every battle must be a huge loss for them.
Therefore, Jing Kingdom needed to rest and recuperate their power and grains.
Furthermore… The Dayong Dynasty was declining and the world was divided into three vassal state: Qi, Jing and Zhao.
Faced with such situation, the Dayong Dynasty could only cower in the southeast with nothing to do. Thus, allowing the three-vassal state to maintain their delicate balance of power.
Tan Chuyan felt the current situation was somewhat similar to what he had read about the Three Kingdoms period in history books but there were few differences.
The fall of Han Dynasty during the Three Kingdoms period was the true establishment of Three Kingdoms.
But the royal family still existed here and Zhao Kingdom was the dog of Dayong Dynasty.
The fact that King Zhao took order from Dayong Dynasty was really confusing for some people. Firstly, Zhao’s royal family was not a clan member of Dayong Dynasty’s and secondly, they weren’t married to them at all. Instead, they just took orders from Dayong Dynasty and protected them well.
Some people said that the king of Zhao Kingdom had been poisoned and lost his mind.
There were also rumors that King Zhao had something to do with Emperor of Dayong Dynasty, otherwise he wouldn’t be like that.
No matter what, in the eyes of outsiders, Zhao Kingdom was indeed the dog of Dayong Dynasty, biting whichever they ordered.
But if the other two kingdoms were bitten to death. It was still unknown whether Zhao Kingdom would attack Dayong Dynasty later.
Therefore, if Qi Kingdom and Jing Kingdom continued to fight with each other, the balance would be broken.
The Zhao Kingdom could either helped Dayong Dynasty to destroy Qi Kingdom and reunified Jing Kingdom, or they could dominate the world on their own.
No matter what the situation, it wasn’t a picture that the two kingdoms wanted to see. After all, it wasn’t easy to build a country, let alone when the rightful dynasty still existed.
And, which was a king with no ambition? Who didn’t want to be the only ruler in this world?
Therefore, they took each step carefully to govern the kingdom. How could they willingly start a war over a shameful marriage and ruin the royal kingdom they had built with their own hands?
There was one trivial point.
It was said that Tan Chuyan escaped under the supervision of Jing Kingdom and Wolf Eagle Cavalry. This had already embarrassed Jing Kingdom. Wouldn’t it be even more embarrassing if he used this incident as an excuse to start a war over Qi Kingdom?
So, utmost, Jing Kingdom would write a letter to Tan Hongyun to scold Tan Chuyan and mocked Tan Hongyun.
However, if the kings of Jing and Qi Kingdoms were changed, they might behave differently.
Fortunately, it wasn’t.
Therefore, Tan Chuyan was confident in his ran away from his marriage. Firstly, he made that old bastard of his father angry. Secondly, he made Feng Chilie lose his face.
Didn’t they all wanted to watch a good show from him? Well, just wait, which was making a good show.
.
.
Jing Kingdom was located in the northwest with high mountains and the weather in the winter was much worse than in the Qi Kingdom.
After opening the window and let the wind blew for a while, Tan Chuyan started to cough.
Tianbao quickly closed the window and put on Tan Chuyan’s cloak, “Your highness, your body is already weak. I beg you don’t ruin yourself.”
“Ahem…” Tan Chuyan coughed heavily again, he rubbed his cold hands together and said, “I know it.”
Tianbao “……”
‘If you really knew about it, will you be like this? No, could you even live well from eighteen to eighty?’
“Tianbao, when I was in the Qi Kingdom, I heard that the night market in Jing Kingdom was very lively. Let’s go out for a stroll.” Tan Chuyan suggested suddenly.
“Your highness, we have been traveling all the way and have not been eating or sleeping well. Your fever has only subsided a little. Otherwise, today we will… Hey, your highness, wait for me!”
Tan Chuyan couldn’t bear Tianbao’s nagging like a mother, he picked up the warm bottle and left.
If life wasn’t satisfactory, it was better to enjoy any time you could.
