Mark of the Multiversal Pretender

Chapter 146: Ch. 140 - Final Battle!

"Gagkh!"

Crack!

"Mercy!"

Splash!

"Please spare me!"

Boom!

On the second floor of the building, the entire floor was in ruins, with crumbled walls and ice-covered ceilings can be seen.

In the middle of them all were the three main characters of the story, Leo, Helen, and Elsa.

"Let's proceed to the next floor," Leo said, and the three of them ascended to the next floor, where once again, they were met with countless bullets and blades flying toward them without hesitation.

"Don't these people know how to properly accommodate guests?" Helen joked as she enlarged herself, turning her body into a balloon.

Dum! x10

All the bullets simply bounced off of her, mainly thanks to the fact that the bullets were round and circle instead of the supposed pointy ones.

As for Elsa, she was just constantly releasing ice blasts upon ice blasts, freezing them all.

"R-Retreat!" The leader of the 3rd-floor henchmen, noticing that they're powerless against the three of them, devised a plan to retreat and gather with the rest of the henchmen from the upper floors.

As a matter of fact, he wasn't the only one who had thought of this, the other henchmen also planned the same and soon, started rushing upstairs while using others to distract Leo and his two women.

"They're trying to retreat." Elsa noticed this and relayed the information to Leo.

"Let them. It'll just make the next floor more fun and challenging." Leo grinned and replied, which made Elsa weirdly look at him.

"This is my first time seeing your bloodthirsty side," Elsa admitted, which Helen quickly took advantage of.

"It is not my first time seeing him like this," Helen smirked, crossing her arms as she successfully gained another leverage against Elsa.

"You…!" Elsa fumed in anger, clenching her fist in the process. However as they're in the middle of doing something, she was unable to fully express her frustration.

'I swear I'll get back to you someday!' Elsa prayed in her heart.

"Let's go upstairs." Putting a stop to them before it could escalate, Leo said.

"T-They're on the 3rd floor now!" A messenger who came from the lower floors, panted heavily as he reported the current situation on the lower floors.

"What should we do next, Mr. Kingpin? Perhaps we should escape?" One of Kingpin's trusted men suggested, believing that Kingpin would make a smart decision and escape.

After all, being alive is better than being dead. At least you can still rebuild your empire as long as you're still alive, unlike when you're dead, unable to do anything.

"No….We stay. Even if we escape, these people will just keep chasing us even until the end. It's best we end it here and now." Of course, why would Kingpin agree, everything is already falling in place and he'll gain large amounts of reputation points after this.

"That….But Mr. Kingpin, it would be the best idea-"

"Are you questioning my decision?" Kingpin glared at his 'incompetent' men, making him shut his mouth finally.

"N-No. Mr. Kingpin. I don't dare." Shaking his head as fast as he could, the man then bowed his head, not daring to look directly into Kingpin's eyes, as if he was some kind of Medusa.

"Good, you know what. How about you just go and join the others? Don't you think you're supposed to help?"

Hearing his words, the man froze, beads of sweat forming on his forehead as he wanted to refuse Kingpin's order.

He had heard of the terror of the three invaders and the last thing he wanted was to join his dead comrades.

"Go down there and show me your usefulness." With that set in stone, Kingpin sat on his high chair and interlocked his fingers under his nose. His deadly stare implies that Kingpin won't take a 'No' as an answer.

"Y-Yes." Albeit hesitant, the man bowed his head and left.

During the talk between Kingpin and his men, Leo and the other two finally arrive at the last floor before the floor where Kingpin's office resides.

"This is much more than the previous ones," Helen stated after seeing more than hundreds of armed men waiting for them.

"Well? Are you scared?" On the side, Elsa smirked.

Before Helen could retaliate, Elsa seemed to have predicted this and to avoid Helen getting her comeback, Elsa was the first one to charge towards the horde of armed henchmen.

"That little bitch!" Helen snarled under her breath, unable to do anything but simply endure the insult for now.

Later, she'll definitely get back on her!

Leo only shook his head at their antics and joined in the fray, following him behind was Helen.

With accumulated experience in bending the elements, Leo proficiently took each of his enemies down one by one, with each man receiving different kinds of elements.

One man was blasted by his air causing his chest to cave in.

Another was crushed when two tall pillars emerged from the ground and squashed him in the middle.

Another got himself choked by water that filled his lungs.

While the other was burned from top to bottom, melting everything except for the bones.

Such a brutal and painful way of dying made the others lose morale, not wanting to end up in the same fate as them.

Slowly but surely, many henchmen started realizing they'd lose, hence dropping the weapons from their hands and surrendering.

"I surrender! Please spare me!"

"I have a daughter and wife!"

"Me too! I have a son at home!"

One by one, more and more henchmen started giving out reasons to save their own skins.

"Shameless." Elsa's face turned into disgust upon saying.

"Some are lying while some are not. You two still remember the list?" Leo on the other side, replied while reminding them about something.

Earlier, a few hours before raiding the building, Leo had already given them a list of who should be eliminated and who should be spared.

After all, his other persona is Kingpin, he obviously knows who is the true evil among them and the innocents.

Slash'

"No! No! Please spare me!" With Leo's initiation, they resumed their mission, sparing some of them alive.

The henchmen, seeing that they're 'randomly' sparing some of them, could only go down to their knees and pray.

"Please me next! Me next!"

For the next consecutive minutes, almost half of the people inside were also eradicated with the innocents left remaining. And in order to keep them out of the fight, Leo knocked them all out one by one, who knows when they would suddenly still try to attack them?

***

Kingpin was sitting behind his desk as the moonlight shone behind him, piercing through the glass pane.

A few seconds passed and slow footsteps could be heard outside of his office along with the screams of terror and pain coming from his henchmen.

Once the screams stopped, the door was slowly opened and the three figures of Leo, Helen, and Elsa walked inside with nonchalant looks on their faces.

"Kingpin. Your reign ends here!" Leo majestically said. However, he soon couldn't hold back his laugh and chuckled.

"I'm sorry. I just feel like saying those words in such a situation." Leo apologized.

"It still feels weird to know that who we're facing is just a clone of yours. How should we end him?" Helen chimed in, and Elsa surprisingly couldn't help but agree with her.

"Well. Whether we like it or not, we still have to show that we fought with Kingpin and came out victorious. After all, the news photographers I secretly hired right on that building over there would come to a waste." Upon Leo's explanation, Helen finally remembered that Leo once told them that he hired highly expensive photographers to capture the moments of their fight and plaster it on the news the next day.

All for the sake of publicity and reputation points.

"Right over there?" Elsa muttered after hearing Leo's words and looked outside the wide window and true to his words, Elsa noticed a few blinking flashes on the other building in front of them, indicating that they're already taking photos of them as we speak.

"I'll go first and simply follow my lead." With that being said, Leo dashed forward and launched a fist toward Kingpin's face, of course, he could've finished it much earlier but he wanted drama and action so the photographers would have plenty of materials they could publish tomorrow.

Bam!

Raising his thick and large hand, Leo's eyes widened in 'surprise' as Kingpin then closed his fist, gripping Leo's hand before throwing him towards the wall.

At the same time, Helen also launched forward and used one of the techniques that Leo taught her.

"Rubber Pistol!" Combining the momentum of her punch along with the extending of her arm, she successfully delivered a devastating blow on Kingpin's chest.

Not wanting to have Helen the spotlight, Elsa also dashed forward and encased Kingpin's feet with ice, rooting him on the ground.

She then created two large knuckles in mid-air and rained it down upon Kingpin's locked-down figure.

Boom! x2

Smoke arose from the spot where Kingpin was.

Just as they thought it was finally over, a purple laser beam cuts through the heavy smoke, rushing towards Elsa at incredible speeds.

Not expecting such retaliation especially since she thought that since Kingpin was Leo's clone, it wouldn't hurt her in some way.

However, seeing the burning laser coming towards her made her think otherwise.

Of course, this was still part of Leo's plan. Just as the laser was a few inches away from Elsa, Leo jumped from his place and landed in front of her, using his Phantom suit to block and absorb the laser.

Superhero entrance! Saving a damsel in distress!
