Chapter 3: Chapter 03
"WHAT!" Soobin shouted while making a disgusted face.
"Ah! Hahaha! I was joking! Come on! You seem hungry! Aren't you?" Saying that Yeonjun held up the half peeled banana in front of Soobin. Soobin was truly hungry. Because he didn't eat anything for the past few days. He locked himself up inside his grandmother's house and he kept thinking about his grandmother, shedding tears. He was too depressed to do something or eat. That's why his stomach started groaning when the guy in front of him asked him to eat. Yeonjun noticed the sound from Soobin's stomach and smiled because he found him more cute. But Soobin couldn't take the fruit from a stranger. He was looking at Yeonjun suspiciously.
"Why is he so eager to make me eat? Does it have poison in it? Or does it have some kind of medicine in it which would make me go insane? It may contain some kind of drugs which would make me unconscious and the guy in front of me will take me to sell my body foreign?" Soobin had several questions in his mind because he couldn't just trust anyone after what happened to him. He remembered when he was in sophomore, a boy came to make friends with him. He gave him a doughnut to eat. But after eating that, he was too sleepy and fell asleep. But when he woke up, he found himself locked in the school storage room.
Yeonjun understood Soobin couldn't trust him. So, he took a bite from the banana himself and while chewing he said, "Shee! Itz ideebol(see! It's edible)" Then he held up the bitten one in front of Soobin again. Since Soobin's stomach kept growling, he felt very embarrassed and took the fruit. He took a bite slowly but right after he ate a bit, his eyes started to sparkling. He never ate such a delicious banana in his life. It was so sweet and savory. It was so soft and slippery. The size of the bananas are much bigger than the regular ones. He forgot everything whatsoever was going inside his head a while ago. He kept eating it as if it was only him and the banana in this world, nothing could come between them.
Seeing how Soobin was eating with all of his heart, Yeonjun found him so cute that he wanted to squish those fluffy and stuffed cheeks. It was as if a bunny stole the fruit from his garden and was secretly eating it. He kept looking at him while giggling. But suddenly he felt a strange sensation inside him and he noticed he was getting hard just by looking at the boy eating. He gulped and looked another way as soon as he could. In the meantime, Soobin finished eating and said,
"Thank you! It was really tasty." Soobin bowed and asked where he could throw away the peel.
"Uh! Hahaha! I-I k-know, r-right? We produce the premium quality fruits in our land. And they're very demanded all over the country!" Yeonjun said proudly. But he stucked on his words a few times because his heart was racing way too fast and he was feeling very hot. Soobin listened to him as he thought walking away would be rude of him.
"I need to go now." Soobin smiled gently and said. Yeonjun felt his heart was going to melt completely after he saw the beautiful smile on Soobin's face. Though Soobin still had some light bruise marks on his face and dark circles under his eyes, he still looked very charming.
"You have to? Can't you come with me?" Yeonjun asked.
"Why? Where?" Soobin was curious as well as a bit afraid.
"Uh! I mean…. Can you come and lend me a hand?" Yeonjun asked awkwardly. He just blurted out his feelings that he didn't want Soobin to go just like that.
"O…..okay…..but what do I need to do?" Soobin asked while giving the peel to Yeonjun as Yeonjun extended his hand towards Soobin. He did that on a whim because he wanted to see Soobin's hand as there was a big cut mark on his hand. But Soobin didn't understand and thought Yeonjun was asking for the banana peel so he gave it to him. Yeonjun was surprised and felt dumb for a while and looked at him.
"Uh! Just come with me and it'll boost my energy." Yeonjun said, putting a very big smile on his face. Soobin suddenly blushed, seeing how good he was looking while smiling. He looked away as soon as he could.
"Eh?" Soobin asked since he didn't get what he heard.
"I mean…you'll know." Yeonjun said to cover up what he was trying to say.
"What's your name?" Yeonjun asked while walking since he didn't know his name.
"I'm Choi Soonja." Soobin replied because he didn't want this guy to follow him anymore. And since he was living near the place, he didn't want this guy to know about him.
"Eh? Grandson?" Yeonjun was surprised.
[Note: Sunja means grandson in Korean]
"No, it's Soonja. That's in obeying." Soobin replied.
"Ah! Pretty name!" Yeonjun replied. He was walking in front and Soobin was following him. So, Soobin didn't notice Yeonjun was grinning while talking with him.
"I'm Choi Yeonjun! But people call me Malsun. You know it's because of my kind personality and sexiness! Hahaha!" Yeonjun said as if he was very proud.
[Note: Malsun comes from Chinese words which means pure, bright, radiant, honest]
"Are you new here? I didn't see you before." Yeonjun continued the conversation simply.
"No, I used to live here when I was a kid. But I went to the city to study." Soobin replied while walking and looking around. The scent of the grass refreshed his mind and suddenly all the dark thoughts he was having for the past few days were washed by the fresh air.
"Ah! So, you're studying! How old are you?" Yeonjun asked genuinely.
"I'm 22" Soobin replied.
"Ah! Then you're studying at college?" Yeonjun asked and looked back to take a look at Soobin.
"No, I'm still at school. I'll graduate in a few days." Soobin replied.
"You're still at school?" Yeonjun was surprised. Because he graduated from school when he was 20.
"Uh! I needed to take two years off when I was a middle schooler." Soobin replied simply.
"That's why! Which city are you in?" Yeonjun asked since he thought he could find him if he knew which city he's been living in.
"Seuol." Soobin replied in short.
"You're on a vacation now?" Yeonjun asked.
"No, I came because my grandma died." Soobin replied without any impression.
"I'm really sorry. What was her name?"
"Choi Ji-han" Soobin replied.
"Ah! Halmoni(grandma) Han is your grandmother! I've known her because we're neighbors! She was really a kind lady! I went to her funeral. I can't believe she's not here anymore. She used to treat me like her own grandson. I'll miss her." Yeonjun's eyes filled with water while expressing his gratitude towards Soobin's granny since she used to adore him a lot.
"You knew her?" Soobin asked. He didn't have any expressions on his face.
"Hm. We were quite close, you know. She said she had a grandson but I didn't know it was you. Sorry!" Yeonjun tried to lighten the mood.
"Thanks for taking care of her." Soobin bowed at Yeonjun and said. He was really grateful towards the guy because he understood Yeonjun wasn't a bad guy since his grandmother used to praise him a lot whenever Soobin talked with her on phone. But she never mentioned his name so Soobin didn't know who the guy was. Yeonjun was quite surprised by Soobin's behavior and suddenly he blushed again.
"Ah! Here we are!" Yeonjun showed the truck to Soobin since they reached the truck and it was now work time for Yeonjun. Yeonjun had to deliver them at 8 am but it was already 7:45 am.
"I'll be late!" Yeonjun shouted when he noticed the time.
"Hop in!" Yeonjun went in the truck and said.
"Me?" Soobin asked with a surprised look.
"Yes, please lend me a hand! Please! I'm getting late!" Yeonjun begged and Soobin didn't have any other choice but to listen to him. They went in front of the garden and started loading the trucks together.
After they loaded the truck fully, Yeonjun got inside the truck again and thanked Soobin with a very big smile.
"You'll be here for some days, right? Come to this place again so that we can meet again!" Yeonjun really hoped he'd see Soobin after he returns from delivering his goods.
