Malevolent Warlock: Sin Of Eternity

Chapter 149: Untitled

"Yawnnnn" from within the crowd, a man with long black hair and a robe slowly made his way up the stairs to the platform.

Unlike the other contenders who had come out to fight with high quality amour, this guy seemed to not be bothered even in the slightest.

"Hmm, are you ready San?" The great elder with braided hair asked the young man.

This guy was not the same as the others here, he was called Duan San. An adopted member of the duan royal family. He wasnt their true blood but they treated him as one because of his talent, as to why he was ranked so low on the list of the top 30 sky...it was due to unfortunate circumstances.

During the previous sky festival he was Challanged by the person ranked 28 and lost miserably. This person had apparently encountered a miraclous encounter that saw his strength sky rocket over night. He Challanged duan San and beat him.

"Yes, i am" the young man nodded while staring at the fully equipped Carlson standing right opposite him on the platform.

He lost the last time because he was weak, but now? He was already at the peak of level 2 nothing like before. The Royalty took great care of those they called their own. So with a little training he was able to breakthrough his limits.

"Okay, this match should be clean no more severe injuries" one of the great Elders directed before announcing the beginning of the match.

"Hmmm, I know you" on the platform, Duan San said to carlson with a smirk on his face.

"You know me? How?" Carlson responded.

"You were here last time right? You didn’t get far....but I saw one of your fights" Duan San said calmly.

At the last sky festival, carlson had participated with his measly strength of peak level 1.

But At that time he wore a mask during his match so how did this guy know him?

"Yeah....." Carlson confirmed, he had indeed participated in the previous sky festival, not because he thought that he could win. He just wanted to test the waters at that time.

"I noticed your aptitude with spells is incredibly high, why don’t we start with that?" Duan San Said to carlson before placing his hands behind his back.

"Give me your best shot," duan sans words were straightforward and confident. To outsiders it might seem like he was being disdainful towards Leon, but was that really the case? No!!

He truly wanted to see how talented this waterway boy really was and what gave him the guts to Challange him.

"Hmmmm, Water work: pericing spring" Carlson swung his spear in a circle before facing it at Duan San.

At the tip of the spear, a gray water Orb appeared and shot out in different directions barreling towards duan San.

To which he responded with several sways to the sides dodging the streams of water being sent at him.

However, mid stream, Carlson began moving his spear around causing the streams of water to begin changing directions making it harder to dodge.

(Smart move and efficient.)

Instead of feeling annoyed, duan San smirked and continued dodging the attacks. He was absolutely confident in his ability to ultimately win this fight.

"Water work: pressure Rush"

All of a sudden the streams of water being spread towards duan San stopped...but it was quickly followed by carlson lounging forward with his spear pointed out.

The sudden change was abrupt and caught the audience off guard.

"Wind work: basic shield"

Not duan San though, he was fully prepared for am attack like this so he streched his hand forward and activated a spell creating a shield made out of thin air.

—Clang

The collided before the crowd, causing them to gasp in administration. These two looked like they were more apt at battle than the rest.

—Clang

—Clang

—Dang

In the few seconds after their collision, carlson and Duan San exchanged a few blows in which resulted in both parties being pushed back.

"You’re good kid, but let’s get serious. Use something that’ll really shake me" duan San smirked at carlson and said with a smirk.

To the crowd this was a battle between the 28th ranked in the top 30 sky talent list, but those who knew, understood that the person whom Leon was currently fighting was much more powerful than have the people on the top 30.

The fact that carlson was matching him was worthy of admiration. After all he was only at the middle stage of level 2.

"You should go first" carlson shook his head and said to duan San.

"Ah? You think you can handle a serious attack from me? That’s bold. Let’s do it" Duan San wasn’t disrespectful to Carlson even in the slightest. Maybe it was because of how he was humbled during the last festival, or maybe it wad something else.

"Wind Work: Wind Demon Sand storm"

Duan San smiled evily at carlson. At the peak of level 3, there was a need for any mage who wished to advance to begin analysing Area spells.

To do this they needed to combined two or more closely related element or concept to have a chance.

Duan San had already gotten on this path meaning he was no ordinary peak level 3 mage. It meant that he was very close to entering level 3.

A talent like this could easily enter the top 10 of the sky talents.

"I see, then let me see if I can counter" Carlson chuckled and said. Someone that had reached this level was infinitely close to entering level 3.

Even carlson had to be worried about such a person. But he had a trick up his sleeve....

(If it wasn’t for you, this might not be possible.....still)

Carlson though to himself before closing his eyes and readying his spear.

The previous festival, he had watched Duan San use a spell very similar to this one when he lost as a last Ditch effort.

This spell was at the time called the sacred dance of the wind demon. YES!!

this was the spell the blade Demon had used during his match with Carlson.

The blade Demon’s real name was Duan Tan. The less talented twin brother of Duan San.

"Cleansed water work: Sacred WaterSpring"

In an instant carlson activated a spell too that seemed strange.

"Hm??? Isn’t that cleansed water?" At a balcony not far away, a representative from the sky Palace frowned deeply. But as his eyes panned around he suddenly nodded in understanding.

As he frowned in shock, another representative expressed delight. It seemed like this boy was already on someone’s radar.

"Doesn’t matter, he’ll still lose" the sky representative shook his head.

In as much as Carlson’s ability to use cleansed water was shocking. The wind demon spell branch was not weak, especially in the hands of someone stronger.

—Clang

One attack

It took just one and the Victor was determined.

Carlson had lost.

But, they didn’t get enough time to even process this because just as the match was decided a sound resounded in the Air.

—fuuuuuuuuuuuu

It sounded like something was falling from the sky.

—woo!!!!

In an instant, a turtle shell appeared hovering just above the platform. It appeared from no where shocking the crowd.

"Move out of the way!!!"

The voice of the great elder Titch resounded in the Air, following which the two protectors appeared on the platform.

"Ayeeee, what’s with all the commotion, I just wanted to pop in and say hello"

From the turtle shell, a voice resounded as in the next second a figure slowly emerged from within the shell.

"What do you want old bastard??!!" The great elder said with anger.

This person that had appeared right before them was a Warlock. Not just any warlock though.

A middle stage level 4 mage.

"Ayeee, are you deaf Titch? I said I wanted to say hello!!!" The old turtle warlock exclaimed with a wild look on his face.

Clearly he was here to cause trouble.

,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Meanwhile,

"Shit, my arm!!" Leon’s pained voice sounded resounded in the dark as he looked at his broken arm with annoyance.

Just now he had escaped from the dark space he was in previously with great difficulty. The stupid bitch as part of her test place a massive serpent for Leon to fight.

This creature was monsterous, and no matter what leon did he could beat it. Its wounds healed faster than he could attack it and its size was just too much leaving only the option of escape to be viable in this situation.

So Leon ran eventually even breaking his left arm in the process. He was lucky to escape with his life.

"Hmmmm, Where’s this now?" Leon looked around with caution. This place wasn’t quite the same as the place he had come from previously.

—crrrrrr

The sound of a chain rolling down slowly soon resounded around Leon as a bed bathed with light came down from the ceiling to the ground floor.

On it, a beautiful lady as fair as a princess could be observed laying down in a deep sleep
