Making Honkai Impact lll In A World Where Kallen Exists [Continuation]

Chapter 52: Introducing the Newcomers

As the last person stepped out, the black crack in the air disappeared.

The spatial rift, under the system's control, caused no damage or panic. In comparison, the collision between the ship and space earlier seemed somewhat reckless.

"…Guests are guests. But Irene, how did you even find these people?"

Luo Mo sighed, ignoring Bronie's curious gaze fixed on him.

After all, wasn't she just a youthful version of Duck Duck? Having one or two more of her around didn't make much difference.

That aside, Kiana had learned a new word, which was a delightful development, although it didn't sound like a proper one.

As for Kasumi and Delta… Luo Mo was quite curious about them. However, it was best to let them settle in first; otherwise, he might come across as too scheming.

"Well… that's a secret. But seeing that the Captain isn't too curious makes me feel at ease."

Irene nodded, her smile growing as she spoke to Luo Mo with interest.

It was as though the Captain already knew about them.

That saved her some effort. Sometimes, she wondered, was the Captain pretending not to remember certain things, or did he truly not know?

Was he hiding it from everyone, feigning ignorance? Or had he truly lost those memories?

(TL: Answer, He is the Captain, but he is not your Captain. But he is still your Captain.)

But with Kongming as an example nearby, it seemed clear that something was missing from the newcomers, though perhaps that was just right.

"Eh? Three people all at once? They all seem like reliable companions, but… aside from their names, I don't know much about them at all,"

Elysia clasped her hands together, her crescent-shaped eyes sparkling as she smiled warmly at the scene before her.

No wonder she lingered around so long after hearing about this news.

She'd wanted to catch a glimpse of magic from an alternate world at first glance… Though judging by the situation, it seemed more like a mystical spaceship. How would it compare to the one belonging to Griseo?

Oh dear, why had she been thinking about the grown-up Griseo so much lately?

She must have grown up wonderfully. Could she even surpass Hua someday?

In terms of what?

Naturally, in strength! What else could it be?

(TL/C:.... let me check Adult Griseo again. *seconds later* yep, she will grow, not as much as the others, except for Fu Hua and Mobius)

"Well, there really are some familiar faces here. But since this isn't the same world, they must be entirely different people."

"Let me introduce myself. I'm Bronie. For now, I'm a hacker whose goal is to experience different lives, explore new worlds, and avoid restrictions… That's all for now."

Bronie's fingers curled slightly as her gaze swept over everyone's faces, her eyes brimming with curiosity for new things.

After leaving the light curtain, her first world still felt novel to her. Even though that woman said they'd stay here for a few years, considering she was the one with interstellar travel capabilities, Bronie could agree.

After all, this was a real world, one without light curtains. A few years might not even be enough to fully understand it.

"A rebellious runaway girl, it seems… Quite headstrong, perhaps," Luo Mo mused, offering his assessment.

That storyline was from long ago in his memory, but he vaguely recalled that moment of the girl breaking through the skies.

"Hah? You've got quite the loose tongue, huh? I didn't run away from home—Seora's approval counts as consent, doesn't it?"

Bronie pouted in dissatisfaction before glancing at the others.

"Hey, you all shouldn't listen to this guy. I'm always reasonable… As long as you don't disturb my gaming, that is."

With that, she raised her hand lightly. A semi-holographic chair materialized beneath her, and she sat down smoothly, crossing her legs. Her movements were crisp, her ponytail swayed side to side, and her vibrant, intricate clothing caught the eye. The fierce bunny emblem on her back added an edgy touch.

"Oh, I'm done. Your turn, you two. Honestly, after so much time on the ship, I haven't even heard you introduce yourselves!"

She leaned back, pulling out a game console from her coat. Then, as if realizing something, she hesitated and put it back.

After all, sometimes it was better to show a little respect for others.

"That was…"

Elysia's pupils shrank momentarily before her expression returned to normal. She exchanged a glance with Mobius, who also looked surprised.

What Bronie had just done bore some resemblance to the Herrscher of Reason's powers, but there were no traces of Honkai energy on her… Was this truly an alternate-world ability?

(TL/C: it's more like, reality hacking using quantum. Kinda similar to Silver Wolf from HSR)

"That thing she conjured just now…"

Bronya hesitated, almost suspecting the girl might also possess a Herrscher of Reason core. What was going on here?

"Oh, I can also summon drones—ones that look like little sisters of mine~. Hmm… By the way, we're not going to fight, right? Lady, the way you're staring at me feels like you're a snake eyeing prey."

Bronie waved her hand casually and raised an eyebrow, teasing Mobius, whose gaze was growing increasingly excited.

Hey, was this woman planning to eat her?

Should she counterattack? After all, couldn't rabbits eat snakes sometimes? Though, admittedly, she'd never heard of such a thing before… But wouldn't that make for a great story later?

Bronya's face darkened at Bronie's remark, feeling somewhat provoked. She gritted her teeth in frustration.

Little sister?

She definitely looked older than Bronie! That had to have been deliberate.

"Based on Bronya's judgment… Bronie, you're younger than Bronya. Also, your thought process appears to lack maturity."

"Hmph! You keep saying 'Bronya this, Bronya that.' Who's the immature one here?"

Bronie shrugged, seemingly uninterested in debating further.

But she didn't mind extending an olive branch:

"When you're taller—no, stronger than me, we'll talk. Oh, and by stronger, I mean in games. If it's a fight, you can go look for that hot-headed one."

Compared to height or physique, Bronie had more faith in her e-sports skills. After all, who knew what kind of opportunities might come her way?

As for who the hot-headed one was…

"Hey, if you can't speak nicely, just keep quiet."

Delta interjected, taking over the conversation. Her expression was less than friendly.

She didn't know who her closest ally might be yet after just a few days, but she could easily identify people she disliked.

And these two were unquestionably the latter.

In just a few days, they'd gone from complete strangers to glaring daggers at each other when left alone. That was quite an achievement.

"My name is Delta. I'm… searching for my sister after we got separated. As for my strength, I'd say it's decent—I could take on two or three of her easily."

The pink-haired girl adjusted her collar, the blue and pink ribbons fluttering slightly.

Unlike Bronie, Delta kept her clothes wrapped tightly, as if seeking warmth or protection from it.

"Don't exaggerate! We haven't even had a proper fight yet!"

Bronie interjected, clearly enjoying the rising tension.

"Stop interrupting," she said with a frown, her voice low and commanding.

After that, silence fell over the room as everyone exchanged glances.

Maybe she really wasn't great at conversations. However, the tail behind her kept swishing, occasionally brushing against her arms and hands, as if it were speaking in silent language.

"...Oh? A Mantis warrior?"

Mobius drawled, dragging out her tone. Internally, though, her emotions were unshaken. Even if the other party was strong… so what? Hadn't she created plenty of Mantis herself?

Stronger and rarer ones, too—she wasn't unfamiliar with such cases.

Still, she found Bronie's abilities and the ninja who resembled Sakura far more intriguing. After all… ninjas were supposed to know ninjutsu, right?

It was a pity Rosalia and Lilia weren't present. If they were, they'd probably be eager to see the combined form of Delta's abilities.

Mobius wondered, if Rosalia and Lilia understood the origin of Delta's strength, would they feel even more envious?

Luo Mo, on the other hand, admitted to himself that he'd love to see that scene unfold.

"Well… finally, someone can keep Rosalia and Lilia in check. Bronya, isn't this a load off your shoulders? Now you can focus on improving your strength," he said.

"…Huh?"

Bronya tilted her head slightly. Based on her earlier observation of Bronie, their appearances were eerily identical, which made things a bit complicated.

But… did the captain really mean someone could manage those two troublemakers?

Was that even possible? Ordinary teachers could hardly deal with them.

If this person resembled Rosalia, maybe—just maybe—she had some connection to the Rosalia of another world. It might be worth investigating.

"Hmph—assigning me tasks already?"

Delta narrowed her eyes, her icy gaze locking onto Irene and Luo Mo for a long moment. However, she didn't outright refuse.

"Because… you might be the most suitable person for the job, both for them and for yourself," Luo Mo replied.

He felt an invisible pressure spreading. The phrase 'decent strength' suddenly sounded much more intimidating. Bronie aside, Delta could probably take him down without breaking a sweat.

If only he could master his own physical abilities, he wouldn't be performing so poorly.

"Trust the captain's judgment. Even though he likes to joke sometimes, why not give it a try? The name 'Lilia'… it feels like I've heard it before, maybe in a dream?" Irene said with a soft smile, bowing slightly to Delta.

"…Fine," Delta sighed.

She'd imagined this situation before, but now that it was right in front of her, she instinctively masked her true feelings with cold indifference.

She didn't want to face it, but… maybe there was truly hope here.

Standing to the side, she closed her eyes, resting while reflecting on the word that flashed through that dangerous woman's mouth when her tail was revealed, Mantis warrior.

Meanwhile, Kasumi remained unusually quiet.

If Delta's silence stemmed from her rejection and wariness toward the outside world, Kasumi felt like an inner tranquility, as if she were a still pond.

She didn't seem to have anything else to say. Or perhaps… her initial introduction had already conveyed everything she intended.

"A ninja, huh… Shouldn't you show off your skills? Such a shame Sakura isn't here…"

"Wait, how about I call Sakura over?"

Elysia's eyes lit up with excitement, her voice rising in enthusiasm.

Somehow, this pink fairy had developed a fascination with identical-looking individuals standing side by side. Maybe it started when the three Fu Huas stood together? Nuwa and Fuxi didn't count as much, but for others… well, they were much rarer.

Two Kevins, for example? Not exactly thrilling for her.

But two Sakuras? She was beyond excited!

"Huh?"

"They're not far away anyway!"

"…Hmm…"

"That earlier tremor—surely they felt it too, given how close we are," Elysia added.

"…Understood," Kasumi said helplessly.

Faced with such enthusiasm, it was hard to argue.

Fine. If she could see another version of herself, it might even be an interesting experience.

Elysia then walked out of the room, waving her hand toward the other side and calling out something. Her voice grew fainter as it carried into the house.

"…What do you think, Theresa?"

"Think about what?"

She frowned, her small face filled with confusion.

"Arranging accommodations, of course. This is your villa—your territory. It's late now; surely you're not sending them to the company to sleep?"

"Even if it's a gaming company, that's hardly…"

"Oh—really? I'd love to!"

Bronie eagerly raised her hand, her face lighting up with a bright smile of anticipation.

Games in this world—how could she not be excited?

"Your willingness doesn't matter," Luo Mo retorted, dismissing her enthusiasm and adding, "Children need proper sleep at night."

"Hah—serves you right," Delta quipped, arms crossed as she sneered at Bronie.

"Oh? Then where are you staying, little angry kitten?"

Bronie smiled teasingly, her eyes glinting with mockery.

"Hmph. A rabbit that doesn't return home is bound to get eaten sooner or later," Delta retorted sharply, showing no mercy.

"...I don't know. You didn't tell me. Cecilia's place should have a spare room, but it feels intrusive to bother her... Hmm, there are too many people here! How about the student dorms?" Theresa suggested, clearly at her wit's end.

"I'm fine with anything," Kasumi nodded politely.

This response, however, only made Theresa's decision even harder.

----

"Oh? You really do look exactly like Sakura. How interesting. And this one... without the Core of Reason, you can still conjure objects out of thin air?"

Vil-V's gaze was filled with curiosity as she examined the newcomers.

"Of course. Also, your so-called 'Core of Reason'—I've never really understood what that's all about," Bronie replied, a bit exasperated that no one had bothered to explain it to her.

"Hmm... that Bronya who looks similar to you has the Core of Reason. If you want to understand its origin, I'd recommend you play this game," Vil-V answered casually.

"That should be your favorite way to gather information, right?" she added with a knowing smirk.

"Well, now I'm interested," Bronie replied, her curiosity piqued.

"Hmm, oh, by the way, you should also learn some traditions here. It's customary to introduce every newcomer to this game. It's a heartwarming, joyful, and uplifting bedtime game filled with wholesome, happy endings and deep emotional bonds. Perfect for a good night's sleep," Vill-V said, shaking her finger seriously, her tone convincing.

"Hmph—boring!"

Nearby, Mobius scoffed, giving Vill-V a strange look but making no effort to stop her.

"Speaking of which, about that earlier discussion... If Elysia and the others return, why not install another spatial expansion device here? It's very reliable," Vill-V suggested enthusiastically.

"This time, the effect size is halved, but stability is doubled. Seriously, don't look at me like that! What's that phrase again? 'Trust Vill-V no matter the time or place—' Ow! What was that for, Elysia?!"

Vil-V's passionate recommendation was cut short as Elysia interrupted her.

"...Don't steal my lines," Elysia murmured, her gaze drifting back to observing the subtle differences between Sakura and Kasumi.

"Alright, alright, I get it. Honkai Impact 3, right? A game designed to popularize your worldview. Fine, I'll play it properly," Bronie said dismissively, waving her hand as if already impatient.

As a gaming master, she could guess the general gist just from the buzzwords being thrown around.

Yet despite her initial indifference, the idea of playing the first game in a new world intrigued her.

She didn't yet realize the implications this game would bring.

Luo Mo, meanwhile, listened to Vill-V's so-called introduction for the newcomers with a strange expression.

How to put it?

He finally understood how others felt whenever he made similar, earnest recommendations. It was a little surreal, and pretty funny.

For now, everything seemed to be moving in a positive direction.

The group settled down temporarily, using the spatial expansion device that Vill-V assured them had been stabilized.

In truth, Luo Mo thought the device was fine even last time. The issue lay in the significant upheaval caused by the merging of the two worlds, a situation beyond anyone's control.
