Making Honkai Impact lll In A World Where Kallen Exists [Continuation]

Chapter 22: Bishop Steps Down. The Ring Project (1/5)

After watching Otto's video, Kallen spent some time deep in thought.

Eventually, a certain idea struck her, she wanted to abdicate the position of Schicksal's Overseer and pass it on to Theresa, just like in the video.

After all, in some sense, this was a choice aligned with history.

Training Theresa to be as excellent and full of leadership qualities as she was in the game would make her more convincing.

This way, she could inherit Schicksal's legacy better and face the series of disasters and challenges ahead.

So, a few days later,

Kallen officially informed Theresa of her decision. Her intentions were clear without needing explanation.

Of course, she understood that without frequent, significant events forcing Theresa to grow, she would still need an extremely long time to mature and grow. But at the same time, she believed Theresa would make an excellent Overseer.

If… Theresa could be a bit taller, perhaps it would go even more smoothly.

So, when Kallen solemnly summoned her granddaughter, Theresa, confused and bewildered by such a serious gesture, widened her eyes in shock.

Her expression was one of disbelief, her pupils slightly dilated as she exclaimed in a panicked voice,

"Ah?"

"No way, Grandma! I still want to slack of- ahem, I mean, I think you're still young! You can handle this for a few more years, no, decades… even centuries!"

"I—I can't take on the burden of Schicksal yet!"

Her voice was noticeably flustered. Was her happy academy life about to end?

If people found out that her first thought was wishing her grandma could work for a few more years, they'd definitely burst out laughing!

Although she knew this day would come eventually, her grandma had hinted at it several times in the past.

Theresa had only fantasized about the days when she'd become Schicksal's Overseer.

But wasn't that something for the distant future? This is midday, not doomsday!

She wasn't ready to lose her precious carefree, happy life yet.

"Theresa, if you could do it in the video, you can do it in reality too."

Kallen looked at Theresa with a warm and kind smile.

Theresa glared angrily at Luo Mo who was drinking tea next to her, then plopped onto the sofa with a stiff face, refusing to say a word.

"Admit I'm worse than my video counterpart? Impossible. Absolutely impossible!"

But at this moment, even if she wasn't ready, she had no choice but to step forward.

The future Overseer must not say, "I can't do it!"

Absolutely not.

"Then start preparing for your coronation ceremony a month from now."

"What? So soon!"

Theresa whispered to Luo Mo:

"Luo Mo, Luo Mo, do you have any good ideas?"

Luo Mo raised an eyebrow, recalling the video he had previously discarded. Although he hadn't intended to torment Theresa, since she had asked… delaying her ascension to Overseer shouldn't be hard, right?

Were there any ideas? Of course, there were!

"Sure, it's not a big deal," Luo Mo said with a mischievous grin at Theresa. "You just need to be a bit more open-minded and…"

"That's it?? Easy! But… your expression seemed a little off just now."

Theresa was suspicious. Luo Mo always came up with strange schemes, but… hopefully, he'd be reliable this time.

"No, you're mistaken, Theresa," Luo Mo replied earnestly.

But inwardly, he was determined to dust off the proposal he had shelved earlier and put it back on the table, ideally without Theresa's knowledge.

Theresa was skeptical but couldn't think of a better idea.

Soon enough, the Ring Project made its grand debut.

It completely blindsided Theresa, overwhelming her vision with its unexpected nature to the point of nearly making her faint.

---

"In the year XXXX of Schicksal,"

"The former Overseer of Schicksal announced her abdication, plunging the world into a catastrophic crisis…"

At first glance, it resembled a modern city, yet smoke and flames engulfed the area.

"How can humanity, fleeing in all directions, save this world on the verge of collapse?"

The scene depicted a large, mysterious object moving amidst the chaos. Rubble, machinery, and ruins were scattered everywhere.

Then, amidst this apocalyptic landscape, a small figure with pink hair—Fuyumaru—ran frantically on her tiny legs. She was gasping for breath as though something terrifying was chasing her. She didn't dare look back and could only run for her life.

But suddenly, she tripped over a stone and fell flat on her face, eating a mouthful of dirt.

Despite this, she couldn't care less about the pain and fearfully turned her gaze behind her.

What appeared were several figures dressed in black-and-white nun habits. They had white hair with a small braid on the left side, and their eyes glimmered with an intelligent light. Their staggering, zombie-like movements were unsettling.

Shockingly, their appearance matched Theresa's.

However, unlike the Theresa people knew, these "Theresas" were muttering strange phrases—

"Teriri—"

"Teriteri!"

They advanced with their eerie steps, closing in on the fallen Fuyumaru. Despite their odd movements, their intelligent gaze hinted at a disturbing brilliance.

Then, their golden eyes glowed brightly, unleashing a beam of light that struck Fuyumaru.

With a pitiful scream, the terrified Fuyumaru transformed, adopting the same appearance as the others. Her once clear eyes now mirrored the strange intelligence, and she too began muttering "Teri" repeatedly.

This inexplicably revealed the cause behind everything, under the leadership of the "new generation" Schicksal Overseer, the world had fallen into her control.

[This broken world, always patched together by someone.]

[What the hell was that just now?]

[Theresa… so terrifying!!]

[Wait, is this even official content?]

(TL/C: wtf? 🤣)

At this moment, everyone's hearts were struck with an overwhelming sense of shock.

They had expected the opening to be surprising, but they had never imagined it would begin like this.

The audience was collectively left dumbfounded.

It must be clarified, due to the lack of strong emotional elements in this scene, Luo Mo had decided to experiment with modern AI for the voice acting.

As a result, Theresa herself had not been asked to participate.

This decision was wise, if she had been involved, she would have undoubtedly shut it down immediately.

After Kiana signed several confidentiality agreements, Luo Mo brought her into the project for brainstorming.

To his surprise, Kiana was very interested in the idea.

Naturally, Luo Mo was even more delighted; having someone to share the blame was a welcome relief.

And so, as the opening scene unfolded, the group in the hall displayed a range of expressions. They glanced at Theresa in the center, some still reeling from fear.

Everyone exchanged mischievous glances, barely suppressing their laughter… everyone except Theresa herself.

Grinding her teeth in frustration, Theresa's eyes burned with fury as she glared at the nonchalant Luo Mo next to her.

"Luo Mo! Is this how you handle things? What kind of ridiculous nonsense is this?!"

"With reasonable speculation about the future based on reality… and a touch of existential dread- Ouch! Okay, okay, stop hitting me!"

Initially maintaining a calm demeanor, Luo Mo sipped his tea. However, Theresa's punches rained down on his shoulder, and his face turned red with embarrassment. She couldn't fathom what kind of twisted imagination could conceive such a diabolical plan.

"Ahem...well, I was only trying to help you achieve your goals."

"Oh, thank you so much!"

Theresa's eyes turned lifeless, her spirit seemingly drained. She slumped into a chair, staring blankly ahead as if her world had lost all color.

"Hmm? What's wrong with sister Theresa?"

Sitting on the sofa, Luna swung her legs and placed a finger on her lips, puzzled.

"She's probably just scared by the alternate version of herself in the game," Irene replied calmly, a faint smile playing on her lips as she watched the hilariously absurd scene unfold in the game.

"Hmph, don't get too comfortable, Luna, Although she's clearly the lead, we're not safe from being dragged into this mess," Irene added.

"Like that skyscraper-tall long leg?"

Luna propped her head on her hands, flashing her little fangs as she glanced slyly at Irene.

"Or those glowing red eyes," Kongming remarked coldly, holding her round fan.

"That's… that's true. You two look like me, so people might think it's you…" Theresa muttered as she recalled something, shakily standing up as if barely surviving a disaster.

"Well, still…"

Luna and Kongming spoke in unison, then exchanged glances and nodded in agreement.

"Sister/Miss Theresa, it's obviously you!"

"Ugh—"

Theresa sank into despair with a pitiful whimper, like a small, defeated animal.

---

Meanwhile, at this critical moment of global crisis, the appearance of the ultimate and undeniably adorable Kiana was inevitable.

The scene shifted to a laboratory where Kiana held a family heirloom baseball bat. Her expression was wary as she cautiously peered around a corner, on high alert.

She swung the bat with precision, taking down each zombie-like Theresa. Green goo clung to the bat's surface.

For her, these creatures resembled her "Auntie" in flesh but posed no physical danger. Their mental prowess, however, was overwhelming, allowing them to conquer the world in mere moments.

Beside her stood a man with the word "Great" written on his face.

He held a leg model with a metallic sheen in his hand like a pervert, complete with a glowing ring around the thigh, looking suspiciously pleased with himself.

Behind them, countless zombie-like Theresas were in hot pursuit, and it seemed the two were trapped with no way out.

From the dialogue, it was revealed that the leg ring was called the Hyperdimensional Ring, a product painstakingly created by Dr. Davey to save the world.

A brief glimpse of the outside world showed an overwhelming number of bizarre, mutated Theresas. Some had impossibly muscular bodies, others were as tall as buildings with impossibly long legs, and beams of golden laser light shot from their eyes.

Even more unsettling were the ordinary humans who had been assimilated. They moved with dull, vacant expressions, shambling toward this location.

Everything suggested that this world was beyond saving.

Surrounded by the zombie-like Theresas, Kiana had no choice but to take the leg ring. Using it, she traveled to an alternate, incorrect timeline in search of a way to save the world.

Amidst a dazzling explosion of light, Dr. Davey used his own body to detonate a bomb, holding off the final wave of the zombie Theresas.

And then, Kiana disappeared into the portal created by the ring, embarking on a journey to save the timeline.

---

"Uh… this opening? It feels so… weird!"

Elysia forced a couple of awkward chuckles as she tried to process the bizarre opening scene.

Her mind felt jumbled, as if her thoughts had curled into a ball and refused to cooperate.

Although she found it amusing, she couldn't help but imagine how furious Theresa must be right now. What to do? She suddenly wanted to see Theresa's reaction so badly.

Covering her mouth, she giggled softly, a mental image of little Theresa stomping her feet popping into her mind.

"You don't need to say anything. Anyone can feel how strange this is. Does this technology even exist?"

Mobius stared at the screen, her beautiful eyes filled with disbelief as she watched the figures moving within it.

This was even scarier than a Honkai outbreak!

"Tsk tsk tsk, as expected of Theresa. It's no wonder she became the Overseer of Schicksal. Her presence alone is enough to leave such an immediate impact!"

"Oh~ so this is her special ability? No wonder most of the summoned entities are based on her. Her assimilation ability is off the charts!"

Vill-V quipped as she clapped her hands in admiration.

"Hey, hey, hey! Your discussion is taking a really strange turn. What do summoned entities have to do with this?"

Luo Mo muttered from the side, exasperated.

For this viewing session, Luo Mo had invited several guests from the neighboring villa, or rather, not so much invited, as they had flocked over upon hearing about the fun.

When Elysia arrived, she brought along several of the Flame-Chasers, despite the green-haired tsundere insisting she had nothing to do with Elysia.

But, as the saying goes, actions speak louder than words.

Her words no longer held any credibility.

"Isn't it because you like this type of thing?" (girls)

Elysia widened her eyes in mock surprise, teasing Luo Mo.

"No, absolutely not!"

Luo Mo straightened his back, his voice resolute.

This earned a pout from Luna, who puffed up her cheeks before lowering her gaze to her own chest. With a sigh, she shook her head helplessly.

(TL/C: Don't worry Luna. Ur time is near)

Meanwhile, Kongming maintained a calm demeanor, but her eyes turned cold. Gripping her round fan tightly, she fixed an icy stare on Luo Mo's back.

"Ahem... well, I wouldn't say I dislike it. I just… haven't had the courage to face my feelings yet."

.

Feeling the intense gazes from behind him, Luo Mo immediately backtracked, surrendering to the pressure and rephrasing his earlier statement.

"Wow—you! You had this planned all along!"

Theresa tightened her grip on her clothes, pointing accusingly at Luo Mo.

In turn, Luo Mo cast a sidelong glance at her, a glance loaded with countless meanings.

---

Back in the game, from Kiana's perspective, the scene opened with her wearing an outfit that could only be described as "muscleman attire." It clashed hilariously with her cute face, creating an utterly bizarre image.

Realizing how ridiculous it looked, Kiana immediately tore the outfit off and threw it to the ground.

The energy gauge on the leg ring displayed "Empty," and a task list suddenly popped up: Win three ping-pong matches.

Only then did she notice a ping-pong table had materialized in front of her. Opposite her stood her former companions, now her opponents, waiting expectantly.

With no time for explanations, the first match began immediately.

Kiana held an ordinary looking ping-pong paddle, but her opponent, Lilia, was wielding Rosalia, who was clinging to her legs in a bizarre pose as her "paddle."

The intense battle commenced.

Kiana's first serve was a beautiful spin shot, but Rosalia's flexible body and Lilia's precise control blocked it flawlessly, countering with a powerful return.

The ball blurred with speed as it bounced between the two. Their skills were evenly matched, but Kiana's stamina was beginning to wane.

Suddenly, Kiana spotted something. Otto!

Standing bored on the sidelines as the referee, Otto looked utterly disinterested.

An idea flashed through Kiana's mind. She slammed the ball directly at Otto's face.

The impact sent Otto flying toward Rosalia's "head-paddle," perfectly blocking her line of sight and allowing Kiana to execute a flawless counterattack.

Even with his soulfuel enhanced body, Otto couldn't withstand the "Super Head Smash." He was sent crashing into the wall.

Despite the ordeal, Otto begrudgingly announced Kiana's victory.

Thus, with Otto's "help," Kiana claimed her first win.

In Himeko's villa, the two little ones were completely dumbfounded.

Initially, they were quite delighted to see themselves on screen, although their debut was in a world-ending scenario with Rosalia headbutting a door.

But in the later storylines... things just got stranger!

"Ah?"

"Huh?!"

At that moment, the sisters' minds were a bit shattered.

Judging by their wide eyes and trembling lips, even the mischievous duo found the contents on the screen far beyond their comprehension.

"Liliya..."

Rosalia's lips moved soundlessly, her eyes filled with terror and disbelief. She never expected her little sister to "use" her like that. But deep down, there was a hint of eagerness.

"Rosalia, I didn't mean to…"

"No! Don't you think it's fun? Like playing table tennis or something…"

Rosalia interrupted her sister's guilty explanation in a loud voice.

"Oh? So Rosalia thinks so too?"

"Of course! We definitely have to…"

"Give it a try!"

Rosalia and Liliya exchanged a glance, and the same thought instantly popped into their minds.

The look in their eyes confirmed it, they truly were sisters!

Both resolved to find the right opportunity to try it out without hesitation.

"Bronya, your... these two little sisters of yours, seriously, hahaha."

Kiana scratched the back of her head, letting out an awkward laugh.

How could she not figure out what the two were planning? Oh, they were already whispering about it?

"Kiana, you're impressive too. When did you secretly do voice acting without Bronya or Mei knowing?"

Bronya cast a cold glance at the pink-and-blue-haired sisters, then shifted her gaze to Kiana.

Others might not discern the difference between a synthetic voice and a natural one, but Bronya could easily tell.

So… it was undeniably Kiana's real voice acting.

Damn it, she played the protagonist again! It seemed so fun... and yet, she didn't invite Bronya?

"Hehe... well, it was a secret, you see. Besides, the boss said I didn't have much of a role in the main plot later, it's Mei's story. So, I sneaked off to do this instead."

Kiana scratched her cheek and stretched lazily, sounding somewhat helpless.

"Oh! The next match is starting!"

"There won't be anything too weird involving Bronya later, right? Hopefully not…"

With a hint of caution, Bronya voiced her concerns.

---

After winning the first trial,

Aside from Otto, who now sported a big bump on his head, everyone else present maintained calm expressions.

Only Otto achieved the "world where only he got hurt."

Kiana focused seriously on her next opponent. Bronya.

Bronya stood dressed in the Herrscher of Reason's elegant blue dress, holding a ping-pong paddle, her face dark as she stared at Kiana.

Her spiraling ponytail swayed in the wind, giving her the air of a champion.

The two competed fiercely, the match perfectly balanced, with the ball flying back and forth between them.

As a mechanical component appeared in Bronya's eyes, she activated her Herrscher abilities.

Countless paddles and ping-pong balls materialized in the air.

The Herrscher of Reason's powers now had yet another creative application!

She unleashed a rain of ping-pong balls toward Kiana.

In the midst of the torrent of balls,

Kiana had to admit she felt a twinge of panic.

But she quickly gritted her teeth, and one of her eyes glowed golden. Black holes appeared at the ball's landing points,

transporting the balls to another dimension, only to send them back toward Bronya.

Not to be outdone, Bronya used her constructs to calculate the return paths precisely, striking the balls back again.

Suddenly, the match escalated. Balls multiplied endlessly, ricocheting wildly across the table. At some point, one stray ball struck referee Otto square in the face.

Then an endless barrage pummeled him, leaving him floating helplessly in the air as he endured a merciless onslaught.

But a victor had to emerge.

In a critical moment, Kiana had a flash of inspiration. As a ball flew toward her, she didn't touch it with her paddle. Instead, she used a pen to draw something on the ball mid-flight.

In mere moments, the drawing was complete. With a powerful strike, she sent it back.

Confused by Kiana's strange antics, Bronya prepared to hit the ball, only to see the image on it, Seele's smiling face.

For Bronya, this was what she had always longed to protect.

And so, she unconsciously withdrew her paddle and caught the ball gently, cradling Seele's smile.

She lost the match.

The bruised and swollen Otto once again announced Kiana's victory.

[What a bizarre ping-pong match]

[Who doesn't have a Herrscher or two these days?]

[So, this is how you're using Herrscher powers now?]

[Bronya: To hit or not to hit, that is the question.]

"Huh, so it turned out like this? Strange, but somehow... it makes a little sense," Mei muttered, touching her lips with a slightly complicated expression.

"Oh, it's for Seele, huh... Then maybe losing to that idiot Kiana isn't entirely unacceptable."

Bronya was momentarily stunned. Although she had already predicted this outcome the moment she learned Kiana was the protagonist and she herself the opponent...

Still, how should she put it?

She couldn't quite believe she would lose to Kiana in a game.

But if it was for Seele... well, maybe it was worth considering.

"Bronya is merely my defeated foe!" Kiana declared smugly. Using wit and strategy in games was entirely allowed, wasn't it?

Besides, she hadn't broken any rules!

"Heh, what if I drew Mei-senpai's face on the ball next time? Would you hit it?" Bronya asked coldly.

"Of course not!" Kiana answered firmly without a moment's hesitation.

To hit it would mean lifelong repercussions; to let it go would merely be a lost game. She knew the difference perfectly well!

"Heh—" Bronya let out a cold laugh.

This elicited a helplessness look from Mei and a shy blush from Seele, who glanced bashfully at Bronya.

"By the way, where's the class rep?"

"Oh, she's the next opponent," Kiana replied without a second thought.

"... Bronya meant where are the class rep and little Senti right now?"

"I heard... they went to watch the boss's shenanigans?" Kiana then realized something.

"Should we go too?"

Bronya had a smug smile, as she had the same thought.

"... Makes sense! Auntie must've gone ballistic after seeing that video. Haha!"

---

Soon, Kiana faced her final opponent.

Standing as the strongest obstacle on the path to victory was Fu Hua.

With a firm grip on her paddle, Fu Hua unleashed a powerful strike that sent Kiana retreating step by step.

Each hit forced Kiana to slide backward.

As Fu Hua advanced, she exerted even more strength, causing her clothing to tear slightly, revealing muscles as thick as thighs, reminiscent of a muscle-bound warrior.

The sheer power was palpable and overwhelming.

Then, with one strike, the ping-pong table on Kiana's side collapsed with a thunderous crash.

Kiana was dumbfounded. Was this a match or attempted murder? Yet she quickly composed herself, silently reciting the Tai Xu Sword mantra in her heart, and managed, with great difficulty, to return the ball.

What awaited her was Fu Hua's full-force spike.

This strike pierced the world!

The ball flew from one end of the Earth to the other, crashing into Siegfried, who was squatting on the toilet.

Startled, Siegfried dropped his tablet as the unexpected object sent him flying from his seat.

As pain radiated from his posterior, a dazed expression crossed his face.

A familiar lyric seemed to echo in the air: "The flower withers, leaving wounds everywhere."

The thunderous strike was terrifyingly devastating.

Truly, nothing less could be expected of an immortal!

The only downside was that the forceful spike landed outside the table, counting as out-of-bounds.

Thus, Kiana achieved her third win!

Three consecutive victories secured, Kiana used her various talents to claim victory. The Superdimensional Ring absorbed another unit of energy.

[Fu Hua the mighty, capable of splitting the heavens with her strength]

[Father-daughter bonding, Siegfried has such a wonderful daughter]

[Siegfried: This traumatic blow will take a lifetime to heal!]

---

"Uhh…"

The Herrscher of Sentience, having witnessed everything, scratched her face awkwardly. Somehow, she couldn't bring herself to meet her companion's gaze.

Fu Hua must've been absolutely furious!

A soft cracking sound broke the silence.

It came from Fu Hua lightly adjusting her glasses, causing a slight fracture in one of the arms. Her expression remained cold, but a faint, visible flame of anger seemed to burn around her.

At that moment, everyone believed it, the quiet one had snapped.

Before Luo Mo could react, Fu Hua placed a steady but unsettlingly firm hand on his shoulder and spoke in a voice calm yet filled with menace,

"Boss~, don't you have anything to say?"

"Ahaha, it's just... just a video?"

"Is that your final statement?" Fu Hua asked calmly, her expression as unchanging as ever.

"Wait, wait, I still have something to say! Actually, this is a reflection of a truly near extinct parallel world. While it contains absurd elements, if you analyze it closely, it's a warning that people outside need to be vigilant about! Otherwise, why would I even put the effort into making it?"

Luo Mo said, feigning composure.

Thanks to his game and the appearances of Senti and Otto, his words carried some credibility.

As a result, Fu Hua's grip on his hand momentarily paused, as though granting him a temporary reprieve.

Fu Hua lowered her head slightly, considering the truth of his words. If such a parallel world really existed, could she truly blame him?

After all, he merely presented the information. Look at the main storyline, there were plenty of embarrassing moments for everyone, but no one actually escalated it into a serious conflict. It remained at the level of harmless joking.

Although her earlier actions were mostly meant to intimidate him, if it turned out to be true, she'd have overreacted.

Fu Hua raised her head, scrutinizing his expression.

But since when could the Red Immortal read minds? Oh, right—except for with Fu Hua.

Luo Mo remained calm, gazing back at her. After all, his claims couldn't be verified. What if such a world really did exist?

"Fine, let's keep watching the rest."

Fu Hua withdrew her hand, shook it twice, and spoke nonchalantly.

But someone nearby couldn't resist throwing in a jab.

"Wow! So Fu Hua has this kind of... form? It gives off such a comforting and protective vibe!"

Elysia teased, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

"Still... could such a world really exist?"

Mobius frowned, pondering potential solutions. After a long pause, she shot a wary glance at Theresa.

No wonder there was a standalone video clip warning about this threat!

Once fully matured, Theresa would become completely untouchable!

"Hehe—"

Vill-V laughed without commenting. She only glanced briefly at Luo Mo and, as someone adept at reading microexpressions, confirmed that he wasn't entirely truthful.

Apparently, voice acting had taught him how to blend truth and lies seamlessly. Even she couldn't tell what was real.

But in a way, wasn't that a problem in itself?

When he mentioned Otto, every word rang true. And reality had proven as much.

"Speaking of which, has the villa been repaired yet?"

Mobius frowned, clearly irritated by the person beside her.

"It's being fixed, it's being fixed. Why are you in such a hurry? It's not far, and we're taking turns monitoring it with our split personalities, aren't we?"

Vill-V reclined on the sofa, sipping her drink with a leisurely air.

"...And who's monitoring it now?"

"Extreme Evil! It's so close, and with mechanized construction underway, leaving one personality to oversee things is already my limit. You might not trust me, but you should at least trust my capabilities!"

Vill-V replied earnestly to Mobius.

Mobius was momentarily speechless. At this point, what could she say? Insist that neither Vill-V nor her creations were trustworthy?

That would only expose her own issues too!

In the end, the two fell silent and returned to watching the video.

Since his kind of video was actually quite entertaining!

---

Meanwhile, in the next world, Kiana found herself stepping into a pitch-black room. It was so dark that she couldn't see a thing.

All she could feel was the faint presence of something heavy, as though some kind of weight was nearby.

A sign with narration faintly read: "Caution! Contains a built-in heavy object launcher."

But Kiana, eager to find light, paid no attention. She spotted a door and immediately opened it to step outside.

There, she was greeted by a surprisingly... normal world.

It was a warm and cozy villa by the seaside, with no bizarre scenes or sudden muscle-bound maniacs bursting out of their clothes.

Everyone was inside the seaside villa, brought there by one reason. An invitation: "To the Valkyries who have gathered here, I am Otto—"

Before the viewers could finish reading the message, Kiana swiftly and decisively threw the invitation into the trash and calmly walked toward the hall, her expression indifferent.

"Oh, it's Otto. Nothing worth seeing, then," she muttered, showing utter disdain.

Inside the villa, aside from the Valkyries from Schicksal, there was also a World Serpent member, Raven.

Naturally, Kiana asked the question on everyone's mind,

"Why is she here?"

The response she received was utterly ridiculous.

Otto had sold Schicksal's private island to World Serpent to fund the banquet because he ran out of money.

Nearby, Durandal grumbled that Otto had already owed her and Rita a month's wages. Last time, they even brought the Valkyries to confront him, only to find a mere invitation instead…

World Serpent faced a similar situation. Lacking the funds to pay their employees, they had mortgaged Schicksal's island to Raven and Mei for additional funding.

This was nothing short of a financial tragedy forcing everyone to gather under one roof.

Otto and Kevin, truly a match made in heaven, like the legendary strategist Wolong and Fengchu!

(Dragon and Phoenix)

The group's expressions were somewhat awkward. Everyone had come together in search of their missing salaries.

[Goodness, this is Anti-Entropy's chance to turn the tables! Take over, just take it all over!]

[Is this an economic crisis? (No offense, just joking!)]

[It's over. The island villa now belongs to Raven, and the hopeless ending is already in sight.]

---

"..."

The real Kevin fell silent. He gazed into the distant darkness, lost in thought.

Amid the quiet, he asked,

"Gray Snake, what about World Serpent's funds?"

"Our funds are perfectly secure! There is absolutely no problem!

Gray Snake replied flatly, his tone leaving no room for doubt.

(TL/C: I'm dying lol~)

Even his mechanical hand instinctively clenched into a fist. How could he ever allow World Serpent to fall into such a situation?
