Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

28

Major General Rhys sat with his hands crossed, neatly on the chair, while the zerg across from him reported the week’s work, occasionally placing paper reports in front of the Major General.

During the report, Rhys would ask detailed questions about certain specifics as needed, then quickly organize and provide a complete set of solutions.

It must be said, after being accustomed to seeing the obedient Rhys in front of him, He Qin had almost forgotten this commanding, decisive Major General.

Initially, He Qin sat at the edge of the sofa with his back straight, in a military-like posture.

Over time, his not-yet-fully-recovered waist began to protest with a slight stinging pain, making it impossible to maintain the upright posture.

After all, this was his own female zerg’s office, and he trusted that no zerg would barge into the Major General’s office without knocking, He Qin thought to himself.

Lying down would be more comfortable for his waist, but that position was too unseemly and would prevent him from admiring his zerg.

Eventually, He Qin opted to place a soft pillow under his waist and lie on his back facing Rhys.

During the time Rhys and Jack were handling official business, He Qin lay there with a smile, watching Rhys. Jack could sense his superior’s determination to keep focused on his work.

However, it didn’t seem to be very effective…

The Major General was multitasking well; though he appeared to be issuing commands with clear logic, his gaze often drifted past Jack to lock eyes with the male zerg behind him.

“Report, Major General, the briefing is complete.” Jack snapped to attention and saluted.

“Mm, you may go. Prepare a glass of juice.” Rhys thought about it; his male lord hadn’t had any fluids all afternoon and could really use a nutritious juice now.

After receiving the major general’s response, Jack went to the break room, poured a full glass of juice, and placed it in front of the major general. Then, he quickened his pace as he walked out. He certainly didn’t want to be caught between this affectionate couple any longer.

Being forced to witness such a loving scene was simply too cruel for a single female zerg like him.

Once the room returned to silence, Rhys wanted nothing more than to approach the male zerg on the sofa. Yet, he was afraid that if he expressed his emotions too openly, he might be rejected.

He Qin watched the major general dawdle. What should have taken only a few steps stretched out, as Rhys prolonged the time it took to reach the sofa.

While Rhys appeared nonchalant on the surface, his flushed neck and ears betrayed him.

He Qin sighed inwardly, not understanding why Rhys was so easily embarrassed. “Rhys, could you give my back a massage? Running around with you all afternoon has left my waist sore,” He Qin said, his eyelids drooping and his tone pitiable.

Hearing this, Rhys immediately set aside his shyness and quickly moved to the male’s side. “Change your position, slowly,” he said, firmly supporting He Qin’s waist and helping him turn over.

Rhys rubbed his hands together to warm them before beginning to massage He Qin’s back.

Regret washed over him. He shouldn’t have brought He Qin along to the military base just to show off his male lord’s affection in front of other military zergs.

The male zerg’s back, injured from a sharp desk corner and a strained muscle, was unlike the tough-skinned military zergs who would recover in a day or two.

He had let He Qin run around with an injured back all afternoon? He had failed in his duty…

So, when He Qin, who had been feigning weakness to get Rhys closer, saw the regret written all over Rhys’s handsome face, he felt a twinge of guilt.

“I’m fine. I was just kidding. I’m not that fragile,” He Qin said, quickly switching from lying down to sitting up on the sofa. To prove his ‘strength,’ he flexed his firm muscles.

Suddenly, Rhys was pulled into He Qin’s arms with considerable force, causing the major general to lose his balance and fall into He Qin’s embrace.

“Male lord?” Rhys looked puzzled, clearly not understanding the situation.

Seeing the usually serious major general now lying softly in his arms, He Qin felt a surge of excitement.

Wondering if there were cameras in the office, He Qin glanced around. The advanced technology of the zerg race made it difficult to judge the privacy of the space, so he abandoned any thoughts of doing ‘something’ here.

If he couldn’t eat, he could at least kiss, right?

As He Qin lowered his head, aligning his lips with Rhys’s, there was a commotion outside the door.

“Lieutenant Colonel, you can’t go in, inside…”

“Why can’t I go in? I have official business with your major general.”

“You… you just can’t go in.”

“Move aside.”

Jack alone couldn’t stop this determined lieutenant colonel.

“Major General Rhys, I…” The scene Joe saw after breaking in made him gasp, his tongue tied in knots.

So this was why Rhys’s adjutant had firmly refused to let him in?

The famous Imperial hero, Major General Rhys, was actually entangled with a female zerg?

Hadn’t he just gotten married? Was Rhys so bold as to assume his newlywed male, who had returned from Earth, was clueless?

Thus, Joe mistook He Qin, who had concealed his male scent and covered his face with a hood in the hallway, for a female zerg.

And now, Joe’s overactive imagination concocted an entire story. Rhys had remained unmarried all these years because he liked not a male but a female zerg.

To find an opportunity to be with the female zerg he loved, he had found a recently returned, easily deceived male zerg from Earth and was conducting a dangerous underground romance with his beloved female zerg.

“Close the door,” Rhys commanded the stunned military zerg standing at the doorway.

They had almost shared a kiss, only to be interrupted by this guy. Rhys got up from He Qin, half-kneeling to straighten the rumpled clothes of the male zerg.

Who would have thought that the usually cold Rhys could also be so gentle and considerate?

“Aren’t you going to introduce me? This little female looks unfamiliar. Is he from our corps?” Joe scrutinized the female being tended to by the major general, guessing the affiliation.

The face was unfamiliar. Could he be a newly graduated noble from the military academy?

Judging by his demeanor and his comfort in being served by an Imperial hero, Joe assumed he must be a spoiled noble offspring.

“Show some respect, Lieutenant Colonel Joe,” Rhys said, displeased by the female zerg’s flippant tone. “This is my male lord, He Qin.”

“What? A male?” Joe wanted to step forward and sniff to confirm the ‘male scent.’

He had barely taken a few steps when Rhys blocked the ‘male’ with his tall frame. “What are you trying to do?”

Joe had seen this posture from the major general on the battlefield. He knew this was Rhys’s defensive stance against an enemy.

“Hey, don’t worry. I just want to know why he doesn’t have any male scent,” Joe said, stopping and spreading his hands in a placating gesture to reduce Rhys’s hostility.

Joe only meant to tease a bit. He didn’t want to anger the major general here.

“Hello, Lieutenant Colonel Joe. Allow me to introduce myself. I am indeed Rhys’s partner, He Qin.” He Qin placed a reassuring hand on Rhys’s shoulder, patting it to soothe him. He knew how insecure Rhys could be, so he didn’t approach the other zerg.

“As for my scent, it’s because I used a special spray.”

He Qin’s fear of unfamiliar environments only manifested when there were no acquaintances around.

While giving Rhys a sense of security, Rhys also provided He Qin with a sense of safety. He Qin realized that he had become increasingly reliant on Rhys lately.

For instance, now that Rhys was by his side, he no longer felt the awkwardness and vigilance he had when he first arrived in the Zerg territory when faced with unfamiliar female zergs.

“Do you need something from me?”

Rhys’s unfriendly gaze and words conveyed a clear message to Joe: if he didn’t leave soon, he would be facing more than just 2,000 push-ups as punishment.

“Hey, nice to meet you, Lord He Qin. I have some business to attend to, so… I’ll leave you two alone.” Joe forced an awkward smile at Rhys.

The unfamiliar female zerg had barged in hastily, asked a few odd questions, and then rushed out, leaving He Qin puzzled.

However, this reckless female was quite different from the Zergs he had encountered. He reminded him of his buddies on Earth.

“Are you happy, my lord?”

“Don’t you think his personality is interesting?”

Interesting? Rhys had always thought Joe’s troublemaking antics were foolish, never amusing.

“I can’t become like him, my lord. How about I give you a child and raise him to have such a personality?”

Rhys’s words reminded He Qin of the general mentioning eggs.

Children? He Qin, considering human logic, thought he was still young and had never considered having offspring.

However, seeing Rhys’s hopeful expression, He Qin suddenly felt a desire for their child. On Earth, during missions outside the barracks, he had saved many unfortunate children who had lost their parents.

The war had mercilessly ravaged them, yet the children always maintained their innocent and beautiful hopes for the world.

He had never imagined that one day he would have his own adorable little angel.

“Looks like I need to try harder tonight.” He Qin flashed a mischievous smile.

Lately, it seemed like some switch had been flipped. Perhaps it was the natural tendency of male Zergs, but He Qin had developed an extraordinary enthusiasm for intimate matters between couples.

With his back injury these past two days, Rhys hadn’t allowed him to move much, leaving He Qin, who had grown accustomed to indulgence, quite frustrated.

Scenes of embarrassing moments flashed through Rhys’s mind, causing his face to flush.

After a moment, Rhys realized: had his lord just agreed to have offspring with him?
