Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

26

Female Zergs have strong regenerative abilities, often waking up completely free of any aches and pains after a night’s sleep. Why don’t male Zergs have this ability?

“Major General, your master’s lower back bone has been injured by a sharp object. As I taught you, massage it for over an hour and let him rest well for an afternoon; it should be almost recovered.”

He Qin lay half on a pillow, half propped up on it, with Rhys kneeling beside him, applying even pressure to his lower back.

“Hiss…” After drinking too much and blacking out last night, he found that trying to get up this morning made his lower back feel like it was splitting apart. Without the strength to support his upper body, He Qin fell back onto the bed.

This led to the scene of the hotel’s doctor standing by giving instructions while Rhys massaged his lower back.

Injury from a sharp object? Wasn’t he the one on top? Could the situation have changed while he was drunk?

No, Rhys is a female Zerg; it’s physiologically impossible for him to do that.

“Rhys, what’s wrong with my back?” The pressure Rhys applied was strong but just right, and it seemed he had learned some kind of massage technique. The morning’s severe pain in his back began to lessen noticeably.

“Last night, you insisted on going to bathe alone and wouldn’t let me follow. After just a few steps, you slipped and fell, hitting your lower back on the corner of the table.”

Thinking of the male zerg’s predicament last night, Rhys frowned. A drunk master could seriously endanger his own safety.

Rhys decided that the master’s alcohol intake would be strictly controlled in the future. When they returned home, he would also instruct his female father to monitor the master’s drinking habits while he wasn’t around.

“Master, feeling better?” The bruising on He Qin’s lower back had been massaged out. After applying a special ointment for bruises, the bruised area looked much less severe.

“Much better.” Not knowing how long the ordeal lasted last night, he had only gotten up around noon and was now feeling drowsy again.

“What are we doing this afternoon?” He Qin couldn’t stay put. As soon as his lower back felt slightly better, he started thinking about going out.

Having finally escaped the cold central star system, he couldn’t let a minor back injury delay the itinerary Rhys had planned.

“Master, you need to rest well, at least for half a day.” When it came to He Qin’s health, Rhys was always firm.

The male lord, with his childlike tendencies, liked to drink cold beverages, was lazy about reheating food, often ate cold meals, and enjoyed large dinners, sometimes even having desserts as late-night snacks.

These terrible habits were wreaking havoc on his health. Since becoming He Qin’s female lord, Rhys had been trying to change these habits.

The male lord was still young, and if he continued to indulge himself, his body would suffer in the long run, something Rhys would not allow.

“Then we’ll go out tonight.” He Qin pouted.

“In the evening, we’ll almost have to rush back.” Rhys repeatedly warned himself not to relent.

“Then let’s just walk around the hotel.” He Qin lowered his request once more. If they couldn’t go out, staying within the hotel should be fine, right?

Unfortunately, Rhys was firm this time. “Sorry, Master, but today we’ll stay in the room. Whatever you want to do, I’ll accompany you.”

Hearing Rhys’ refusal, He Qin tried to get up and argue again, but his still-ailing back gave a sharp twinge. “Ugh.”

“Master, you shouldn’t move around right now.” Rhys quickly grabbed a cup of water and rushed to He Qin’s side, gently pressing him back down onto the bed.

That was it; He Qin’s plan to sneak out when Rhys wasn’t looking was thwarted. He resigned himself to resting for the afternoon.

Rhys held a cup of warm water to the male zerg’s lips and suggested, “I have a set of training documentaries from the Starry Night Legion. How about we watch them this afternoon?”

This set of documentaries had been recorded by the legion’s soldiers while Rhys was away, and Jack had recently sent them to his light-brain. He had been wondering when he would have time to watch them. Now he could accompany the master and handle work at the same time.

He Qin knew that Rhys belonged to the Empire’s Starry Night Legion, an invincible force of the Zerg. Getting a chance to watch their battle documentaries was an opportunity he couldn’t pass up, especially with a major general who had trained many elite soldiers beside him to answer any questions.

The frustration of not being able to go out was instantly replaced with excitement. “Then hurry up.” He Qin, careful not to move his back, raised his head to look eagerly at Rhys.

The bed in the hotel room wasn’t suitable for watching films, so Rhys looked around and noticed a cushioned sofa. He pressed a button on the sofa, and it automatically transformed into a large sofa bed.

“Go slow.”

“Watch your step.”

“Yes, lie down here. Just a moment, I’ll get some pillows.”

Seeing Rhys’ careful demeanor and his busy movements, He Qin had an odd feeling. Had he prematurely entered old age, needing to rely on his wife for everything?

Rhys placed a few pillows of suitable height under He Qin and prepared a small blanket nearby. He then projected the documentary from his light-brain onto the white wall, and the images appeared immediately.

Just as he was about to sit down, Rhys suddenly remembered that his master had a habit of snacking.

So, he ran to the kitchenette in the suite, cut up a few types of fruit that the male zerg insisted on buying on the way home last night, and neatly arranged them. He also refilled the male zerg’s cup with hot water.

“Alright, stop being busy and come rest for a bit.” He Qin, lying in a position where he could see the kitchenette, felt his heart fill with warmth as he watched Rhys bustle around.

Being so thoughtfully cared for was unimaginable bliss, and he was glad he had Rhys to accompany him for the rest of his life.

Hearing the call, Rhys quickened his pace and brought the prepared snacks out.

“Why record the training content? Aren’t you afraid of leaking military secrets?”

Lying flat for too long can be tiring, so He Qin adjusted his position, leaning entirely on the female zerg, with Rhys supporting his waist with his arm.

“When I’m not around, they send me videos to review.” Rhys explained while massaging the male zerg’s waist. “These videos are heavily encrypted, with only a few commanders of the Starry Night Legion having the password.”

So, they were watching Zerg’s military secrets in a hotel suite?

He Qin knew that female zergs would almost always cater to their male lords, but it couldn’t come at the cost of Rhys’ work.

“It’s okay. Just pretend you haven’t seen it after you watch it.” Rhys understood what He Qin was concerned about.

“The room’s privacy…”

“Don’t worry, they wouldn’t dare install cameras, and I checked before we checked in.” Rhys handed a piece of Earth fruit to the male zerg.

Due to not having rested well, lying in such a comfortable embrace made He Qin’s eyelids heavy, as if he could fall asleep at any moment.

However, the documentary was too enticing, so He Qin forced his eyes open before they could close. After half an hour, the drowsiness was gone, and he kept asking questions while watching.

“Isn’t this part supposed to be attacked from the front?” He Qin pointed to a female zerg on the screen.

“Correct. As long as the speed is sufficient, a frontal attack is more lethal than a flank attack.” Rhys mentally noted these shortcomings, intending to compile a report when they returned.

“What is this?”

“It’s a compressed explosive. Thrown on the battlefield, it can cause instant death within ten meters in five seconds.”

“Wouldn’t that harm allies?”

“Female zergs have a special sonic wave that allows secret communication on the battlefield. Before using such weapons, we notify each other to stay clear of the blast zone.”

“Sonic waves?” It was somewhat like the communication methods of dolphins and whales.

Thus, one asking and the other answering, they finished the entire documentary while Rhys massaged He Qin’s waist to the point where he could move normally.

“Ugh.” He Qin stretched his hands up and arched his back, feeling sore from staying in one position too long.

Having spent the entire afternoon in Rhys’ arms, his scent now lingered all over Rhys, making the latter feel more at ease than ever.

Tomorrow marks the end of Rhys’s honeymoon leave, and he is supposed to report to the military headquarters in the morning, provided he gets his master’s consent.

Rhys was feeling conflicted, fearing a rejection.

If after the wedding, the male zerg refuses to allow the female lord or female servant to return to work, then the female zerg must obey the male lord’s command and give up their job. In many families, the female lord manages household expenses while the female servants focus on serving the head of the household, generally without any chance to work outside.

“Master…” Rhys decided to take the initiative; if there was a chance, he still hoped to return to the military.

“Hm?”

“What do you think about my work at the military headquarters?” Rhys’s voice trembled slightly.

“It’s great. If possible, I’d also like to join a regiment like yours,” He Qin could sense what the female zerg was trying to ask, so he followed the lead.

For Rhys to be willing to talk to him about this was already progress.

“Tomorrow my leave ends, and I need to report to the military headquarters. Can I get your permission?” The male zerg’s relaxed attitude encouraged Rhys to get straight to the point, not wanting to waste time.

Do female zergs really need his permission to return to the military? The Zerg society truly operates as a male-dominated patriarchy.

“Of course,” He Qin patted the female zerg’s back reassuringly. “I’m still waiting for a chance to join the military.”

He Qin had been a soldier before, and constant combat should have been his life, not living a pampered life protected by females.

“Master, it’s impossible for male zergs to join the military,” He almost instinctively responded, leaving Rhys stunned for a few seconds before he realized the gravity of what the male had just said.

He knew his master had never been content to give up military life, but joining the military would mean challenging the government’s fundamental rules. The Zerg government allows male zergs to freely choose almost everything, except entering high-risk military camps.

“If no one tries, how can we know it’s impossible?” He Qin’s hearty laughter filled the room.

**Author’s Note:**

He Qin: “Why does my wife seem so much like my dad?”

Rhys: “Master, what is ‘dad’?”

He Qin: “It’s the male parent on Earth.”

Rhys: “But I am your female lord.”

He Qin: “It’s just a metaphor.”

Rhys: “What is a metaphor?”

He Qin: … (Shouldn’t have started this topic)
