Major General, a Male Zerg has been found on the battlefield!!

14

The Qi family is the wealthiest in the Empire, but this wealth didn’t come from the business acumen of their male Zergs. Most of it is from the dowry of the female lord of the Qi family, Carl Cape, and the rest is earned through Carl’s business skills for the family.

Carl and Qi Ran hold an extraordinary position in the Qi family, a status approved by the male master of the family, Qi Lun. In the Qi family, apart from the head, almost every female Zerg fears the ruthless Carl.

They know that the female lord has always wanted to give birth to a small male Zerg for the master, but having long passed the optimal childbearing age, has only given birth to Qi Ran, a female Zerg.

The female lord hates any Zerg that could give birth to the master’s offspring, and as a descendant of an aristocratic family, he especially despises the master marrying low-status military females.

“Hey, you two, kneel properly.” The richly dressed female Zerg held a metal whip in his hand, occasionally lashing it at the two female Zergs kneeling on the floor.

The two female Zergs kneeling in the center of the living room had the same silver hair and golden eyes. The older one had cheeks full of whip marks, while the younger one had an uninjured face but a back covered in dense whip marks.

“Damned military female, I told you to come back earlier. Can you bear the consequences of angering the master’s male friends?” Carl glanced contemptuously at Rhys, lashing out with the whip once more.

According to the Qi family rules, female Zergs being punished were not allowed to wear outer clothing. Rhys’s inner garments were already in tatters from the whipping, and the white fabric was stained red with blood.

Female Zergs had strong healing abilities. With proper treatment and a night’s rest, the scars on Rhys’s body would heal and fade. By the time he went to the military headquarters the next day, no one would know what had happened to their Major General Rhys in his maternal home.

Carl threw the whip to Qi Ran behind him, slumping onto the wide chair, “Qi Ran, I’ll leave the rest to you.”

If Rhys hadn’t secretly joined the military, luckily earned merits, and become a major general, the Qi family wouldn’t have feared this lowly military female and his son.

Now, to save face for the master, they could only punish this wretched pair at home.

“Hey, did you hear that? Tomorrow at 2 PM, in a private room at Mingxiang Restaurant, Lord Ramon will meet you.”

Qi Ran used the iron whip to lift Rhys’s painfully bowed head, a fierce glint in his eyes, and threatened again, “I warn you, go early and behave well. Don’t neglect the master’s friend’s son.”

Ramon Cape was from the Cape family, and by generation, Rhys could call him grandfather.

Ramon is a typical imperial male, wanting to marry any he likes, and when he gets bored, he gives these females as gifts to his friends. Some are even traded to foreigners.

Major General Rhys is an outstanding soldier of the Zerg. Marrying Rhys would grant the male control over the entire Legion.

Ramon Cape had long wanted to bring Rhys into his house and had requested several meetings, but each time, Rhys declined, citing military duties.

“Ugh…” The metal whip in Qi Ran’s hand once again slashed across the wounds on Rhys’s back. His back, already split open, was further whipped, and he couldn’t help but groan in pain.

“Hey, did you hear me?” The metal whip’s tail shifted direction, its spikes aiming at the eye of the female kneeling beside Rhys.

“I got it,” Rhys quickly replied, extending his hand to redirect the whip toward himself.

The Qi family could punish him however they wanted. But his female father, having suffered too much over the years, had long lost the regenerative abilities of a female Zerg. Today’s beating would leave him bedridden for a long time.

It was truly ironic. Just because he was a female, not even becoming a major general could save his female father or change his fate of being given away as a gift.

“Heh,” Rhys snorted, a sarcastic smile on his lips. It was a pity. He had found his beloved and they had made significant progress, but…

Ramon Cape, such a violent and cruel male, would torment him to the point he couldn’t even return to the battlefield.

“Hey, what’s that attitude? Can’t Xiao Ran discipline his female brother?”

Rhys’s composed demeanor once again enraged Carl, the female lord. He snatched the metal whip, his arm strength restored after a brief rest.

Carl walked up to the kneeling pair, raised the whip over his head, ready to punish Rhys once more.

Suddenly, there was a loud noise outside as a vehicle landed. “Could it be the master of the household returning?” Qi Ran wondered. A servant handed him a wet towel, and Qi Ran wiped the blood off his hands cleanly.

Qi Ran always acted innocent and well-behaved in front of Qi Lun, and no one in the house would risk offending the female lord by exposing him to his father.

Qi Ran didn’t want his image as a good child in front of his father to be ruined because of Rhys.

However, it wasn’t the head of the Qi family who entered but the recently found wandering male, followed by a familiar figure to the Qi family—Rhys’s adjutant, Jack.

The male Zerg straightened his back and walked to the center of the hall with the steady steps unique to a soldier. His heavy boots made a ‘click, click, click’ sound on the floor.

His upright posture and the anger in his eyes, different from the empire’s male Zergs, frightened the females from a distance.

One glare from the male left Carl weak and trembling, and the metal whip in his hand dropped to his feet.

Rhys was also stunned by the male’s imposing presence, forgetting to stand up, and instead, his eyes followed the male’s movements while still kneeling.

“I didn’t expect the Qi family to treat an imperial hero like this.”

He Qin walked up to the kneeling females, seeing the pool of blood beneath Rhys and his lacerated back. A surge of anger over the hero’s humiliation washed over him.

Rhys had been kneeling on the cold, hard floor for over six hours, his knees transitioning from initial sharp pain to numbness.

He Qin considerately squatted halfway, extending his arms to provide support for Major General Rhys.

But Rhys didn’t stand up. He turned to look at his severely injured female father. “Lord He Qin, my female father…”

Somehow, the brave Major General Rhys, who had fought valiantly on the battlefield even with his insides half-dragged out by enemy weapons, lost all his defenses in front of the young male, his grievance spilling out with teary eyes, even his voice carrying a hint of sobbing.

“Jack, help the major general’s female father to that seat over there,” He Qin ordered naturally, pointing to the softest and most comfortable-looking chair in the hall.

Rhys’s usually confident and proud golden eyes were now filled with worry and fear.

His silky silver hair was matted with blood, sticking to his injured back. He Qin’s heart felt as if it had been lashed by the metal whip lying on the floor.

Not allowing Major General Rhys to stand by himself, He Qin wrapped one arm around him and, with considerable effort, dragged him up.

“Bear with it,” He Qin said, carrying him to the chair beside his female father. He rolled up the pants leg to Rhys’s knee, revealing the area had turned from blue to black, looking very alarming.

He Qin cautiously reached out a finger and poked Rhys’s blackened knee. “Can you feel this?”

“Ah… it hurts…” Rhys instinctively cried out in pain.

The major general’s knee was severely swollen and blackened, but fortunately, it still had sensation. However, the trouble was that his back was a mess of bloody, torn flesh, with wounds reflecting under the light as if something had been stuffed in them.

We need to find a doctor quickly. “Jack, let’s go.” He Qin lifted the sweating major general and signaled the adjutant, Jack, to bring the major general’s female father along.

“This is a family matter of the Qi family. Why are you interfering, Lord He Qin?” Carl quickened his pace, blocking the male from taking the two lowly females.

If Rhys and his father left the Qi family today, the Qi family would lose control over Rhys, and the master of the family would certainly kill Carl.

He Qin silently wondered why the Qi family’s females dressed like Christmas trees adorned with decorations. Was this a unique fashion trend among the Zerg?

“A family matter of the Qi family? I haven’t even blamed you for punishing my female lord, and now you’re questioning me?” He Qin looked disdainfully at the ‘Christmas tree’ in front of him.

“Female lord?” He Qin’s words shocked Qi Ran and Carl.

They had no idea when Rhys had privately pledged himself to a male.

However, the Empire indeed had such laws: the moment a female lord and a male pledged themselves, the female lord, along with his wealth, status, and body, belonged solely to the male.

If the male insisted on taking Rhys’s female father away, only the head of the Qi family could oppose it. The females present had no right to defy the orders of an imperial male.

“Also, Mr. Carl, please cancel tomorrow’s meeting. Rhys and I need to handle our marriage registration.”

He Qin’s face was cold, his neatly shaped eyebrows furrowed slightly. His battlefield eyes, now fixed on Qi family’s female lord Carl, held a protective stance around the injured female lord.

The young man’s eyes were full of dissatisfaction with the females present, and his tone brooked no refusal.

Neither Carl nor Qi Ran dared to stop him again, fearing that if they said one more word, the male might draw a gun and kill them in anger.

Even if the male killed all the females present, if the head of the household did not pursue the matter, it would have no consequences for the male.

If pursued, it would at most cause discord with the Qi family, possibly requiring some compensation.

Such was the unfair societal rule of the Zerg, but it had been this way for hundreds of years.

“That damned Rhys, daring to contact a male privately and seducing Lord He Qin with that appearance,” Qi Ran muttered venomously as the male left, walking up to his father.

“Enough, stop talking. We’ll discuss this when your father returns.”

“But father, that lowly female…”

“Shut up.”

The female’s brows furrowed deeply, trembling fingers revealing his severe anger, with eyes full of rage.

Author’s note:
