In the spacious and solemn environment, a circle of tall female Zerg officers surrounded a round table, with Rhys sitting in one of the seats.
Just after reporting on the recent Earth mission assignment, it seemed the interest of the female officers wasn’t in the mission itself but in He Qin, the male Zerg Rhys had brought back.
Among the female officers present, whether unmarried or with children at home, they all sought to be first in line by the water’s edge, using Rhys’s connections to introduce themselves or their female Zerg to the young male.
If the male Zerg happened to take a liking to them, whether marrying as a Zerg queen, attendant, or even a slave, it would resolve a significant matter in their Zerg lives.
Rhys wasn’t foolish either; he wouldn’t introduce his future male master to these female Zerg. Sitting there with a cold face, he didn’t respond to their questions, quietly observing the female officers.
“I’m done with the mission report. I’m heading back.” Headache from these noisy female officers and with concern for the young male Zerg on his mind, Rhys finally abandoned this group of noisy female officers and left the military briefing room.
However, Rhys’s luck didn’t seem to hold today. Just as he stepped out, he ran into a Zerg he didn’t want to see—a brother named Qi Ran, who shared the same bloodline but wasn’t from the same female father.
“Well, if it isn’t our Major General Rhys?”
Qi Ran’s female father’s family was the imperial commercial aristocracy—Cape. After Qi Ran’s father married his female father, he obtained a large fortune, satisfying his extravagant lifestyle demands.
For many years, the Cape family provided for the lavish spending of Qi Ran’s father.
As a result, Qi Ran’s father always doted on Qi Ran and his female father. Despite being a female Zerg, Qi Ran could also bear the family surname “Qi.”
Qi Ran’s female father met Qi Ran’s father at a banquet, where he was just a security guard. Seeing Qi Ran’s father drunk, the squad leader arranged for him to be sent back to his room to rest, but the intoxicated Qi Ran’s father took advantage of him.
When Qi Ran’s female father woke up, he found himself in bed with a stranger, which infuriated him.
At the time, Qi Ran’s female father’s career was on the rise, but he was ordered by his father to quit his job, cutting off his future freedom.
Shortly afterward, Qi Ran’s female father gave birth to him, and for the first three years, his father never looked at him. Even his name was casually spoken by his father one morning.
“What’s the matter?” Rhys’s slight good mood about meeting the male Zerg completely disappeared, interrupting the ambiguous conversation in front of the female Zerg.
“It’s nothing, just that your father has found another good marriage prospect for you. This time, your father commands you to go.” Qi Ran smirked coldly, dismissing Rhys’s rank as a Major General—until he’s married off, he’s still his father’s property.
“I’m not going.” Rhys despised those male Zerg who entered into marriage contracts for his power and position. Besides, Rhys now had a male Zerg in his heart; how could he give up the right to pursue a marriage contract?
With Rhys’s current status as a Major General, even if his father forced him to go on a blind date, he could refuse by citing busy official duties.
Qi Ran seemed to have expected his answer long ago, his disdainful gaze unchanged. “If you don’t go, your female father won’t have it easy this time.”
Upon hearing Qi Ran mention his female father, Rhys suddenly widened his eyes, a hint of worry in them.
Every time he refused, it caused trouble for his female father, but considering his position as a Major General, his father could at most verbally chastise him without causing any real harm.
But this time, judging from Qi Ran’s tone, if he refused, his female father’s situation would be very precarious. “I’ll go.” To appease that tyrant, it seemed he could only agree for now and figure out other ways later.
“There’s something else, I’ll leave first.” Rhys didn’t even want to glance at this so-called ‘brother’ any longer, leaving behind the female Zerg, he sat in a nearby flying craft and departed.
“Hey, who taught you to treat your brother like this, hey…”
The noisy female Zerg behind him attracted quite a bit of attention at the military department’s entrance. Due to the vast disparity in power and status, the female Zerg could only curse the Major General fiercely in his heart.
He even resolved secretly to teach that damn Zerg a lesson when he returned.
Following the address of the male Zerg provided by Jack, Rhys smoothly arrived at his destination. Two flying craft were already parked on the front lawn—one was driven by the receptionist who brought He Qin, but whose could the other one be?
“Ah, Major General, you’re here.” Seeing the Major General’s arrival, the sub-female seemed as relieved as if he had found a lifesaver, overflowing with joy.
Rhys glanced inside and saw an unfamiliar male Zerg sitting on the living room sofa, but didn’t spot He Qin. As the male Zerg’s eyes seemed to intentionally drift towards him, Rhys leaned against the wall, avoiding his gaze, and asked the sub-female Zerg, “What’s going on?”
“This is Lord Ryan, who is here to guide Lord He Qin’s mental abilities. He’s been waiting here for quite some time, but I couldn’t wake Lord He Qin up, and I didn’t dare to enter his bedroom.”
Ryan had been informed beforehand and he had already gone upstairs to knock on He Qin’s door in an attempt to wake him up.
However, no matter what he tried, he couldn’t wake He Qin up. So, the sub-female had to come downstairs first to attend to the mental guide for the male Zerg.
Dealing with two male Zerg, he couldn’t afford to be neglectful to either one. His situation was quite difficult.
“I’ll go take a look.” Judging from the situation, it seemed that He Qin had fallen into deep sleep again.
Arriving at the master bedroom on the second floor, Rhys first politely knocked on the door. As expected, there was no response inside. He then gently pushed open the door and quietly entered.
He Qin was lying on his side on the bed, clutching a corner of the blanket, his mouth gently moving as he slept deeply.
If it weren’t for the male Zerg downstairs being here to provide essential mental guidance for He Qin, Rhys wouldn’t have wanted to wake him up.
However, mental guidance was crucial for He Qin, a male Zerg transformed on the battlefield.
If mental issues went unnoticed, a male Zerg’s senses would gradually dull, leading to a condition unique to male Zerg that could eventually cost them their lives.
Actually, back on Earth, there should have been a mental probe for He Qin, but their team didn’t have such specialized equipment.
Military females prioritized combat strength and had no understanding of mental abilities. Therefore, the male Zerg’s mental state hadn’t received timely investigation and guidance.
Now that there was a male Zerg here to guide He Qin’s mental abilities, it was an opportunity that couldn’t be missed.
“He Qin, He Qin, wake up.” Rhys lowered his head and leaned close to He Qin’s face on the outer edge of the bed, softly calling the male Zerg’s name.
Previously, Rhys and He Qin had shared a room, sometimes falling asleep at any time, anywhere in the house as if trying to make up for ten years of missed sleep.
Sometimes, Rhys would accompany him, putting He Qin back into bed to continue sleeping. But if He Qin had skipped dinner and then slept, Rhys would approach He Qin’s cheek like now, softly calling out.
“Mmm…” He Qin was still woken up from his sleep, but he didn’t have a bad temper, just staring blankly into the distance.
At times like this, as long as he quietly waited by his side for five minutes, He Qin would wake up on his own.
Rhys stepped forward to help He Qin pull open the blanket wrapped around his waist. “Are you awake? The guest has arrived.” After the blanket was untied, He Qin responded.
The guest downstairs was assigned to assist him, so he quickly straightened out his wrinkled clothes.
The sub-female, who came to check the situation, happened to see the Major General helping the male Zerg adjust his clothes, observing the tacit understanding between the two at the door.
He felt like he had discovered something extraordinary.
After a good sleep, He Qin’s spirits had improved a lot. When his spirits were good, his mood improved. He Qin had always been simple-minded like this. As long as he had good food, good drink, and good sleep, everything could be discussed.
“Watch your step.” Rhys spoke while pulling the male Zerg’s coat with his hand. After all, having a male Zerg in front of him, bouncing down the stairs was extremely dangerous.
He Qin saw a male Zerg sitting on the sofa from afar. The male Zerg appeared young, with delicate features and a hint of gentleness, exuding a perfect demeanor that hinted at an elegant aristocratic quality.
So, this was an Imperial male Zerg? It didn’t look as bad as he had imagined.
“Sorry for keeping you waiting,” He Qin said to the stranger, wrapping his inner feelings in a mature shell whenever facing unfamiliar individuals.
Only in the presence of close friends or Zerg would he reveal the softness beneath his tough exterior.
“No worries, I haven’t been here long. Just call me Ryan,” replied the male Zerg. Communication between male Zergs was not to be interrupted by female Zergs. The two Zergs stood a meter apart, even slowing down their breathing.
As a considerate male Zerg, how could He Qin make the busy Major General stand? He patted the spot next to him on the sofa where another male Zerg was sitting alone. “Rest here for a while.”
Though no names were mentioned, the sub-female knew the male Zerg being addressed wasn’t him.
“You’re really kind to female Zergs,” Ryan and his male Zerg friend were both born and bred in the native Zerg race.
In their consciousness, female Zergs existed for their entertainment. In everyday interactions with family and guests, female Zergs could only serve on the sidelines and were not allowed to sit with them.
Ryan had better upbringing compared to his friends. His male Zerg father had only married one female Zerg queen and one female Zerg servant. His father treated each of his brothers well, but male Zergs were always special, and Ryan held a prestigious position in his family.
However, seeing the actions of this male Zerg stranded on an alien planet, Ryan was only surprised, not disgusted.
He was genuinely curious: What could be going through the mind of this male Zerg with such a rich life experience?
“Rhys is my friend. Besides, I just asked him to sit down. I don’t understand why you suddenly brought this up,” He Qin looked puzzled at the male Zerg across from him.
“Never mind, let me check your mental state first.”
Ryan chuckled at this seemingly tall but innocent male Zerg, who appeared easy to deceive.
He was still just a child. It seemed Ryan would have to take care of this ‘new male Zerg’ more in the future.
