Chapter 25: Chapter 25: True Gods work together?
As Lumian Lee arrived in Backlund, the bustling capital of the Loen Kingdom, an overwhelming and irresistible energy erupted from within him, casting a profound influence over the entire world.
"She is returning! Quickly!" The three distinct voices within him harmonized in a unified exclamation, each resonating with urgency and dread.
In that harrowing moment, Lumian's mind, body, and soul were besieged by excruciating pain, as if every fibre of his being was being torn asunder. This agony was the manifestation of the Circle of Inevitability's corruption, a force so potent that its desperation became palpable to all existence.
Its influence permeated the very fabric of reality, intertwining with the threads of time and existence. The corruption emanating from this entity was not merely a malevolent force but a complex amalgamation of its profound connection to the cosmos and its intrinsic desperation to maintain the cosmic order.
Divine General Mahoraga, a formidable entity, was on the verge of resurrecting the Mother Goddess of Depravity. This resurrection threatened to unleash unfathomable chaos upon the world, disrupting the delicate balance of existence. More importantly, the Circle of Inevitability did not want Her to revive.
Recognizing the situation, Lumian understood that he had to act decisively to prevent the Mother Goddess's return. In an act of profound significance, he offered himself as a conduit to channel the Outer Deity's power, allowing it to flow through him and back to its origin.
This self-sacrifice was not merely a physical offering but a metaphysical realignment, enabling the rewriting of reality's very fabric. Through this act, Lumian sought to restore the equilibrium disrupted by the impending resurrection, ensuring that the cosmic cycle continued unbroken.
In the aftermath, reality itself was altered, the cosmic balance restored, and the looming threat of the Mother Goddess's return was averted temporarily.
*Creak*
*Thump*
…
As Lumian Lee's consciousness flickered back to awareness, he was struck by the realization that he was still alive.
"Not quite. We are definitely gone. This is likely a temporary state of existence," one of his personalities remarked, rapidly analysing their current predicament.
Another voice within him inquired, "Who is he?"
Following their collective gaze, Lumian turned to observe a young man of similar age standing nearby. This individual, like Lumian, harboured an additional presence within; a fusion of two souls coexisting in a single form.
"Hello, I am Lumian Lee, the one responsible for-" Lumian began, attempting to introduce himself.
"I know. I am Klei... Zhou," the stranger interjected, his tone urgent, "We do not have time to waste. This temporary state you have created will not last long. Mahoraga is already adapting to it and will escape in a few minutes. Still, we will have around an hour's time before he comes to break the barrier protecting Earth. We have to find Amon before that."
"Alright then, Kleizhou. Let's get moving!" Lumian nodded, acknowledging the peculiar name but dismissing it as unimportant in the face of impending danger. He swiftly rose from the bed, only to pause as a perplexing thought struck him.
"Why are we naked...?" he asked, bewildered, while hastily pulling on his pants.
Kleizhou offered no response, instead focusing on dressing himself with equal urgency. In this constructed reality, the usual supernatural powers and abilities were conspicuously absent. More critically, each individual possessed only a single corporeal form, rendering them vulnerable; the destruction of one's body would result in complete annihilation.
This intricate design was the result of a collaboration between the Goddess of Fate and the Circle of Inevitability, aiming to create a flawless battleground where the stakes were unequivocally mortal.
Kleizhou surveyed their surroundings and recognized the familiar urban landscape of Earth, dominated by towering skyscrapers emblematic of the 21st century. Around them, throngs of disoriented individuals from diverse corners of the globe milled about, their confusion palpable.
Despite the chaotic scene, Kleizhou knew that time was a luxury they could not afford. He knelt on the ground, invoking the names of the True Gods with deliberate precision. Remarkably, as if summoned by destiny itself, these deities materialized before him in rapid succession.
First appeared a black-haired, flat-chested beauty adorned in a black-laced dress, exuding an aura of enigmatic allure.
Next, a blond, handsome athlete garbed in pristine white, clutching a tome in one hand and a radiant golden sphere reminiscent of the sun in the other.
Following him was a blue-haired delinquent clad in black bulletproof attire, his demeanour rebellious yet resolute.
A sombre man with pronounced dark circles and an inverted cross necklace emerged next, his presence heavy with melancholy.
An elderly figure shrouded in a hood, holding a book and bearing an all-knowing gaze, appeared with an air of profound wisdom.
Then, a towering man donned in white bulletproof armour, wielding a formidable baton, stood imposing and vigilant.
Lastly, a voluptuous mother cradling a child in one arm, with delicate, flowery vines entwining her other hand, manifested, embodying nurturing grace.
Each deity materialized in response to Klein's invocation, their expressions reflecting varying degrees of surprise and curiosity. Notably, Klein had refrained from summoning the despondent figure adorned with the inverted cross.
Without a moment's hesitation, Klein lunged toward the blue-haired delinquent, deftly seizing the firearm holstered at his side. In a swift, decisive motion, he discharged the weapon, striking the 'Fallen Creator,' the despondent man, in the head, followed by two additional shots to the torso, ensuring the threat was neutralized.
Exhaling deeply, Klein turned to address the remaining deities, who stood in stunned silence.
He spoke with urgency, his words tumbling out in a rapid cascade, "The Goddess of Fate and the Circle of Inevitability do not want Mahoraga to exist in this reality anymore. He plans to awaken Him and immediately bring about the apocalypse."
"To stop him, we need to eliminate Amon, his summoner, but it would not normally be possible, as you all have realized over the past week. We do not have much time; this alternate reality was created by the two Great Old Ones working in tandem, and killing anyone here will kill their 'real body,' and they will die."
He paused briefly to allow his words to sink in before continuing, "Mahoraga is already adapting to it, so we have about an hour to find and kill Amon. The True Creator is not dead. This does not work on True Gods, but anyone below is fair game. Come on, we only have 55 minutes left!"
Without waiting for a response, Klein motioned for them to follow and sprinted away from the assembly, the gun still firmly in his grasp.
The deities exchanged glances, their expressions a mixture of determination and apprehension, before collectively pursuing Klein into the labyrinthine urban expanse, ready to confront the impending cataclysm.
